Good morning all from a frosty Black country but plenty of blue sky and the sun is shining.
Had a disturbed night woken twice with a car alarm sounding off.
Need to go to the bank today cheque to pay in and a bill to pay in one hand and out with the other.
No other plans as yet but have started another book so that will keep me quiet.
Usual full English calling so will catch up with everybody's happenings later.
Best wishes for anyone celebrating, safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find a little bit of ☀️.

Good morning from a cold but bright NE, where we have a dusting of snow.
DS and GD are visiting this afternoon but GD will be stopping en route to take photographs for her art.
Yesterday was a quiet day, washed some bedding and took the opportunity to read some magazines.
Have a good day.

Good morning where the sun has made its promised appearance here in Suffolk. It will be pleasant walking the little dog soon as the lack of rain yesterday and the wind has begun to dry the surface mud at least…. But still a lot more to do.

DS was planning to visit with his family today but I persuaded him to stay at home. A friend from Southwold messaged me yesterday to say that the A12 was closed all weekend at Yoxford where they are building a new roundabout and huge car park, all to do with the construction of Sizewell C.

The timing of the closure seems badly timed since Yoxford is on the only main road up to the coast from Ipswich and further afield and goodness knows which minor roads the diversions will take. Not idea for the half term holiday makers especially any towing caravans.

Hope all have a good day with at least a hint of sun.

Good morning all from a chilly Glasgow, where it is -5°C, with snow predicted.
I have been up most of the night, with awful joint paint and when I looked out, there was a sprinkling of snow in the field next to us.

Yesterday's day out with Dollie started really well, She was very subdued, understandably, then brightened up at the sight of all the clothes in Primark.
I laughed, when she chose and off the shoulder top. When I said it was not appropriate for a ten year old, she told me, that she could wear a vest underneath it. ♥️
She was so excited, trying clothes on, This was the brightest I had seen her, since DIL became ill.
She paid with her bank card and to my relief, remembered her PIN.

Then things started to go wrong. We sat down for a rest, after meeting Papa, who had been dumped in Costa. Dollie became hysterical, saying, that she had lost her bank card. I couldn't understand it, for I had watched her putting it safely in her bag.
What I hadn't factored in, was that she had been continually checking to see if she still had it.
My heart was breaking for her, she was so distraught.

Failing to get a hold of DS to freeze it, I struggled back to Primark, so see if it had been handed in. The staff were so kind, but unfortunately, there was no sign of the card.
DS is not the most patient of people and I was dreading telling him. I did eventually get a text, saying he had frozen it.
On the way back to DH and Dollie, I spotted some security guards and asked them, if by any chance a card had been handed in.
Is it pink? It was lying on a bench, you can collect it in the Management Suite,
I could have wept with relief.

I took, a still sobbing Dollie, to the suite, where we were met with such kindness from everyone.
Well done, Team Braehead,
I then had to ask DH to unfreeze the card. I wasn't sure if he would!
Unknown to me, DH had messaged DS to ask him to be gentle with Dollie, she is so fragile at the moment.

Card unfrozen, the world was back in equilibrium. Claire's Accessorities is closing down and Dollie spotted lots of reduced goodies, strangely, the card never left her bag, gran paid! 😉
We also had to visit her favourite shop, to look for Anime items She was terrified that her card wouldn't work. I explained to the assistant, what had happened. As she was leaving, he handed get a lollipop to cheer her up. Strangers can be so kind.

As you can imagine, there was no time for MD to shop, but as we passed TKMaxx on the way to the car, DH said: ^ Go in and take as long as you want^. 😱
I was looking for a new apron, the ones I bought in Rome many moons ago, are all, tired and done, ( Just like their owner),
I came out with a Phase Eight £85 sweater, in chartreuse, my favourite colour, for £18.
That made my day, along with Dollie telling me in McDonald's, that this was the best day ever. 😍

Later, DS took her to visit DIL, who messaged to say DIL was much brighter and was gossiping about the two women in the ward, who had taken a dislike to each other. Progress indeed,
She is still connected up to all sorts of tubes, but she is getting there.

Due to all the angst of the last few weeks, I forgot to do the new parish rotas and they finished last weekend,
I sent out a ^ help email and many kindly offered to cover, What a relief!
This morning website and bulletin to do, but before that, a hot bath to try and ease my pain.

Yesterday was the anniversary of a rather tipsy DH proposing fifty years ago. For the first time ever, we forgot, Is the a sign our marriage is over.? 😪

To all the poorlies, including LLFL, I hope you feel better.
Enjoy your Saturday.

Hello everyone from West Lothian, where it’s bright but with a hard frost.
Yesterday was a fairly quiet, ‘catching up’ sort of day but at three o’clock, dh decided he wanted to look at cars as he has it in his mind that we need to replace ours 🤷‍♀️. I quite fancy an electric one (all views on this, particularly from existing electric car owners, are welcome). It was interesting but I’m always shocked at how expensive cars are (I probably shouldn’t be). On the way home we popped in to Sainsbury’s for a few bits and bobs and to collect my raised toilet seat (for when I get my hip replacement next month) from Argos. Ooh, the excitement 😂
In the evening, we watched a couple of episodes of Stranger Things, which I’m loving (dh less so!) and did a bit of knitting so that, hopefully the cardigan I’m making will still fit dgd when I finish.
Another quiet day today. Having coffee in bed then planning on cleaning the kitchen.
Have a lovely day everyone

Will change the bed sheets today , get the paper , walk pooch and hunker down for the rest of the day in front of the woodburner.

I took DGD home yesterday , I’ll miss her but it’s time for both of us. Half term so hopefully a peaceful week.

We have a Thai meal for tonight’s dinner , courtesy of M and S.

I hope you all have a good day . ❤️

marydoll what a traumatic morning for poor dollie, but good that there was a happy ending! A relief that your DDil is taking note of what’s going on in the ward!
I hope your pain eases today.
I’m late this morning, so will read all your posts later.
DD1’s birthday was celebrated yesterday, we’re staying in a large house overlooking the sea, with an indoor pool and hot tub.
Thinking of everyone climbing mountains.

Good morning from a beautiful day in Wiltshire.

DH is about to do a 5 minute walk to the local football ground to watch DGS2 play football. It’s a rare Saturday when play has been possible as it’s usually waterlogged. DH hates football as does everyone else in the wider family. But the parents are adamant he won’t play rugby as they consider it too dangerous a game to play. He’s only 4 but I can absolutely imagine he would love to play as he’s got the build for it already. He’s the same weight and shoe size as his 7 year old sister.

We will be watching England play Scotland later on and then 🫎 Thermidor for dinner as it’s Valentine’s Day.

I hope your DGD is ok Marzipan - getting a hockey ball in the face must have been an awful shock for her.

Hope all the poorlies are doing ok. Thinking of FGTs as always.

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning from Shropshire where the sun is shining🥳

The lanes were flooded all around DD’s house so we had to call on SIL to collect their overnight things in the tractor. The water always goes down pretty quickly so should be ok to get them home later. We have had a lie in as the children slept I until 8.45.A quiet day at home we hope.We are all tired after our big day out on Thursday!

Enjoy your weekend Redcar.I hope your back is ok.

Much better news Marydoll but poor Dollie😢

Thinking of all with mountains to climb and wishing everyone the best day possible🌻🦩

Good morning from Durham.

Unfortunately, I’ve lost my post, so just to add that it’s bright and sunny here - I had to do a double take!!
Despite all the panic yesterday, I’m pleased things are looking up for MD’s family - time to look after herself soon?

Best wishes to all. X

Snuggle up today as it’s freezing up north! Can’t wait for the sunshine and a bit of heat! We have a cruise booked in June and it feels like ages to it. Had a lovely day yesterday at a well known book place in alnwick came home with loads and now can’t find anywhere to put them. Breakfast in bed courtesy of dear hubby. He was pleased with his duck I bought him as a jokey Valentine’s Day present. He loves ducks.

Good Morning from a lovely sunny Co Armagh,
I’m over my cough , thank goodness , as I now have a “delicate” tummy !
My daughters are having a lovely time in Edinburgh, I got so cold last year that I vowed never to go back, but I’ll be over in the summer , well it’s not just as chilly then I hope
I lived near Glasgow as a child and remember being a miserable whiney person in the winter , it’s milder here
My granddaughter will be here soon to see if I need anything from the shop
I’m not venturing out much today !
Take care xx

Good morning everyone,

It’s a beautiful morning with bright sunshine and blue sky, though cold. However, it’s preferable to what we’ve been enduring this last month or so.

We might go out for a walk later, well wrapped up, because I feel as if I’ve been stuck indoors for ages.

Wishing you all the best day possible.

Good morning everyone from sunny Lancashire.

It’s a beautiful day and we have been for a walk around the Dock. Now watching the steam trains.

Thinking of all who are struggling with life at the moment.

Wishing you all a good day, whatever you’re doing.
