Good Morning Everyone,
On this dark, but dry at the moment6 here in Brackley this morning.
A day indoors , I did suffer yesterday in the cold wind as I walked into it, but I recovered .
I wanted to watch some cycling on TV from Spain events washed out weather wise.
Health OK but taking extra care,
Take Care,
Mick

Morning from a damp, cool S Hants, lovely sunshine yesterday long gone.
MrJ was happy with the Ireland result, Scotland had a well deserved win over a disorganised England team.
I too would be upset llfl.
My son said he would call in later today, we’ll have a quick catch up, no other real plans, roasting chicken for dinner.

Good morning from my bit of South Lanarkshire, light covering of snow here but I could have managed mass. Glad however that I went to the vigil last night and am happily still in bed reading this with a lovely cup of tea. I could just slide down and go back to sleep but I am going to ‘arise and go now’!

An afternoon tea in one of the local churches this afternoon to look forward to, a fundraiser for one of the many causes supported here, I’ll go with a neighbour and enjoy the excellent home baking which will undoubtedly be on offer.

Lots of ‘stuff’ going on in the background but I’m having a day off dealing with it, and a day out tomorrow with 13 year old DGD to look forward to. She is very keen on sewing so her Christmas present from me was a trip out to buy some fabric followed by lunch, (it’s mid term break in their area.)

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Morning Mick, morning All from a very wet and chilly corner of Somerset.

Long day yesterday. We had a super trip to London’s Battersea Power Station. I had some mental adjusting to do as I regularly travelled along the embankment when it was working. I must be old! We were whizzed to the top of one of the chimneys in a glass lift which pops out of the top, 109 metres up, to give fabulous circular views. I’ll try to add a photo although the quality isn’t perfect due to the curved sides and reflections from the lift. The rest of the time was spent with a mix of wandering inside and out, a lot of sitting and far too much eating. Unfortunately road closures caused the drivers difficulty on the return journey meaning we arrived home very late. Not their fault at all.

A quiet, recovery, day ahead. Well both do little. This afternoon I expect Mr C will head for his jigsaw and I’ll catch up with some tv, possibly through closed eyelids.

Kind thoughts go to everyone finding life hard at the moment.

Hope this Sunday is kind to us all.

Good Morning everyone from my bit of Scotland. Arose to snow on the ground and now paw prints in the snow after our dog had a wee happy time in the garden.
Rain on again now hmm so hopefully clears the snow so it's safe for me to walk the dog as I fractured my knee on Monday and hubby v ill with unknown bug. He's hardly eaten in a week and is very fatigued.
Hope everyone manages a safe and happy Sunday.
Onwards and upwards!

Good morning from the usual, for now, dull grey Suffolk with rain forecast later. Yesterday was glorious….a day of bright blue skies and sun. We enjoyed a long, for us,walk with the little dog and then I pruned the roses.

A few days ago a lady knocked on the door and asked if she could photograph our snowdrops. She was obviously waiting for a sunny day and she came yesterday with an elaborate looking camera and spent ages taking photos. DH,who has a quirky sense of humour said he is hoping for a share of the royalties if she sells them. Luckily she understood the joke.

Today is a quiet one at home reading yesterday’s newspaper weekend extras and deciding which of the downloaded books on my kindle to begin.

I hope today is a relaxing one for all.

Good morning everyone from the East Coast. It was so lovely to see the sun yesterday but we are now back to the gloom and rain.

We had a lovely day yesterday. We did our big shop and in the afternoon just chilled. DH cooked a delicious steak dinner with a gorgeous mushroom sauce. We had a lovely bottle of champagne. We had a cosy evening watching Song sung blue which made us laugh and cry. DH had tears most of the way through as he especially loves the music of Neil Diamond. When he’s at work he puts his music on his phone and sings away. It’s a good job he works on his own.

This afternoon we are picking up our best friends and visiting our other friends. Since his last oncologist appointment our friend said it might be better if you come to us now. Time is very short for him now and I’m worried how my lovely friend will cope with his loss. They have been together since they were 16. We will enjoy the six of us being together today over a cup of tea and a chat.

We have halibut for dinner which will be made into a quick thai green curry.

Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today with a spark of joy 🌼
Thought to our poorly and stressed friends. 💐

Marydoll his surgery was cancelled just before he was due to go into theatre as the previous day a little spot of some kind suddenly appeared on his shin. It could have been an insect bite as it appeared after he’d been walking the dog. The surgeon was concerned that it may have been infected which would apparently have been catastrophic if infection got into the bone. Rescheduled for the beginning of next month.

Good morning from a cold Cloudy Chambers northwest coast.
DD arrived from the south yesterday and immediately went out for her friend’s birthday party. Wish I had that energy. I was quite happy with my tuna salad, tv and book.

Chicken tonight and DD has taken up a recovery position. I am treating my painful neck with hot pads, massage machine, paracetamol and Deep Heat but will make an appointment with the doc as it’s been going on for weeks
Thoughts to all🌺.

Valentine card I drew.

Good morning all and what a difference a day makes.
The sun was so warm yesterday as I sat in the conservatory reading. No heating on .

I got quite a few jobs done as the sun perked me up after a lovely dog walk.
Cleared out the bathroom cabinet. Some meds hiding in the corner, going back 10 years 😬.
Kitchen drawers sorted and beds changed.
It’s so satisfying, once you get going.

We enjoyed our Valentines Thai meal last evening , courtesy of M and S. We exchanged cards and a boxes of chocs. (I had actually bought everything, but knew Dh would be upset not to give me anything 🤣) . He’s no good at ordering online! 🙄.
Oh well it’s just a bit of fun and no ‘big deal’ .

DS1 and DIL are picking us up this morning and we’ll go to a local garden centre for a mooch and coffee with maybe a croissant.,

Bellasnanna sorry you’re feeling under par again. These bugs certainly get a hold.,
Ldylf are there any other siblings who could get the boys back together? Or a mutual friend or cousin? I expect you’ve explored all possibilities but just a thought. 🙏.

marzipan sorry to hear about your ‘locked jaw’. Oh dear that must be so uncomfortable. Let’s hope the antibiotics ease it.,🤞.
Glad to hear your DIL is progressing MD . Poor Dolly !
You will be a great comfort to her.

Take care all

P.s. you are an inspiration Madeleine and won’t let anything beat you. A determined brave lady.💐

Good morning everyone from the Black country back to normal with the rain after yesterday's lovely cold but sunny day.
Madeleine you sound as though you had an enjoyable day yesterday and what a nice gentleman helping to put the buggy back for you.
Marydoll nice to hear your DiL is able to move about a bit small steps.
Chicken for dinner and more reading that's my day.
Thoughts with the missing posters, have the best day you can everyone whatever your plans ☀️

Good morning from a wet Co Armagh, I hope to walk up to Mass shortly , I’ll pop into the local shop for a few things on my way home
I’m hoping to finish reading my detective series and find something a bit more uplifting this afternoon
Hoping for a decent day for all

harrigran Sun 15-Feb-26 09:25:35

Good morning from a very windy NE, it has been a noisy night.
Last night I was just settling down when the police helicopter started circling the estate, not a chance of falling asleep with that noise.
DS and GD visited yesterday, GD was carrying a bouquet of beautiful yellow roses which she gave to me and then DS appeared with a box of chocolates.
The roses were the colour of my wedding bouquet, very much appreciated.
For once GD did not spend the entire visit doing homework so we got to chat more.
This afternoon SIL is visiting and we will cook dinner together.
Don't think any snow is forecast for us today.
Pleased to hear of some progress of Marydoll's DIL.
Have a good day.

Cressy Sun 15-Feb-26 09:28:49

Madeleine. As I was reading your story about lifting the buggy into the boot I was 🙏 that someone would be passing and help you. I love hearing about your jaunts around North Yorkshire. We used to live in Harrogate. I still miss it after 40 years.

Georgesgran Sun 15-Feb-26 09:38:50

Good Morning from Durham. When I went to bed at 1.30am it was snowing, but there’s no sign of it now, however, it’s very cold, windy and grey.
DGS2 wants to see the big boat today, so we’re off to the Discovery Museum in Newcastle later - all under cover.
Better news from Marydoll today. The FGTs are never far from my mind.
I, too, lived in Harrogate Cressy always a favourite place to visit - just a couple of hours down the A1M for me.

Best wishes to all. X

I am sorry to hear that, Baubles. What a disappointment. 😪

Yogitree that’s awful about your knee. Dunblane is not exactly the place to go out for a nice walk on the flat when you are recovered a bit.

Grandmabatty Sun 15-Feb-26 13:08:33

Yogitree I'm sorry to hear about your knee.

GrannyGravy13 Sun 15-Feb-26 13:17:00

yogitree sorry about your knee and your poorly husband 🙋‍♀️
