No but dh insists I chop a banana and sultanas in to the pancake as I am cooking it - not the easiest thing in the world.

That does sound tasty, I could very happily quaff a few of those!

Lemon and sugar for thin pancakes my favourite any time of year. I make American pancakes with bacon and maple syrup usually weekends.

merlotgran Tue 17-Feb-26 08:54:51

Lemon and sugar for me. Never anything else.

MartavTaurus Tue 17-Feb-26 09:01:36

Salted caramel spread. ๐Ÿ˜‹

Grannybags Tue 17-Feb-26 09:06:28

Lemon and sugar for me too.

Esmay Tue 17-Feb-26 09:08:50

I love the sharpness of the lemon and the crunch of the sugar on a pancake.

Depends a bit on what you call 'pancakes'. We always used to make thin pancakes or 'crepes' but in the USA and Canada they seem to favour thicker ones (like 'Scotch' pancakes) where you can add items to the batter before frying it.

I used to make savory pancakes first and then sweet ones for pudding when there were 7 of us.
It took forever.
3 big pans on the go!

Marmite is a favourite in our house smile

Butter and golden syrup, but I also make savoury pancakes so we can have a 2 course pancake meal.

First course, pancakes filled with bolognaise and rolled up with cheese sauce on top. Afters: as above, start of this post.

NotSpaghetti Tue 17-Feb-26 12:35:25

I like spinach and a mix of cottage cheese and feta in my pancakes, baked in rolls in the oven with a fresh tomato sauce over.

AmberGran Tue 17-Feb-26 14:52:40

Lemon and sugar for me, toffee sauce for DH.

Years ago we both worked in Holborn and used to go to a pancake house called My Old Dutch after work now and again. Anyone else remember it? Don't know if it's still there. All sorts of savoury and sweet pancakes ๐Ÿ˜‹

TheSunRisesInTheEast Tue 17-Feb-26 14:57:19

I like cherry pie filling and ice cream with my pancake(s), just like you used to get in Little Chef ๐Ÿ˜‹

62Granny Tue 17-Feb-26 15:02:54

Lemon and sugar, perhaps a few raisins. ๐Ÿ˜‹ I used to like syrup and cream but I find that too sweet these days.

mumofmadboys Tue 17-Feb-26 16:36:27

Lemon and sugar for me

My favourite would be chocolate spread and bananas. Sadly , none for me , diabetes sugar levels to watch.

Fallingstar Tue 17-Feb-26 17:03:25

Another lemon and sugar though I do like maple syrup as well.

Primrose53 Tue 17-Feb-26 17:08:17

I will shortly be making my pancakes. I make my own but I do see mixes and bottles in supermarkets. Husband eats whatever I give him. ๐Ÿคฃ. Daughter is the same.

My favourite filling is chopped banana with whipped cream on top. My son just likes lemon, sugar and sometimes some maple syrup.
