Good Morning Everyone,
A dark but dry start here in Brackley this morning.
Yesterdays plans went wrong as to a RSV Injection as the nurse had a double booking ,anyway I went to Bicester again ,had a coffee and a beer in Spoons , but noticed the signs of spring as well , in Bicester trees in blossom by a retirement home ,and on the way home Daffodils despite being small on a roundabout near M40 jnc 10 .
Today , usual bus trip to Bicester intend to dress down as its not as cold and wear a fleece jacket for a change.
Health wise had a bad day yesterday hope today is better .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a dry Bristol.
Suddenly, the trees have burst into bloom, the daffodils and crocuses are everywhere, and people are coming out like lizards to sun themselves. Hurray! Long may it last.
I took my spare keys to open a door about 8m away, then to the clotheslines another 6m or so, then back again. I thought they were in the back pocket of my jeans. Can I find them? As if! I’ve looked everywhere I can think of, but they seem to have been spirited away. I have asked St. Jude, but to date, he’s been silent.

Bother, posted too soon.
I spent the morning baking for the FAB cafe - lemon crinkle cookies (a new recipe), lemon cake and chocolate biscuits.
Today, morning prayers, FAB cafe straight after. I leaving early so as to be on time for collection to go to the Townswomen’s guild final meeting/lunch.
I don’t like crowds much and hadn’t planned on going, but several people have asked me to come, one offered me a lift. I couldn’t refuse in the face of such kindness.
Thoughts to all in need, special ones for fgt/urms in this difficult time. 🌺💐
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩

Good morning all. Yes, spring has certainly arrived. I have the window open and can hear the songbird. Beautiful.

Like you, mick, I saw lots of daffodils yesterday along the banks of the motorway. Daisies out too!

I've strained my back so going to take it easy today, but will remember to stretch as that helps.

Happy day all.

Good morning from Malta where a sunny day is dawning with a high of 21°C forecast.

Yesterday was very warm. I went to clean my car, just €2 in the do it yourself car wash. I don’t bother polishing it, just a blast of soapy water then a rinse.

I then went to Lidl and came out with a lot more than I had on my list which I took home and unpacked before going for my nails. (Picture for grandMattie)

I then went to a couple of other stores as I needed some forks, don’t ask me where all mine have disappeared to, it’s like socks in the washing machine, they seem to vanish!

Milo dog has just arrived and he’s very excited. I don’t trust him as he’s not shy about cocking his leg indoors ( or worse) so I must get up and will take him for a nice long walk later. I wasn’t expecting him so early and am not prepared!

DD3 starts yet another degree course today so I will be having the boys after school. Probably go to the local park as it’s such nice weather.

Signs of spring here as well. The fields are full of yellow flowers, I think they are weeds but so pretty. The poppies will start soon and it will be a riot of colour until the hot weather sets in and everything becomes parched.

Wishing a good day to all. Caring thoughts to FGT ☀️

Love your nails, bellasnan. Nail envy here. 🥺.
I wish I had nice hands, got horrible nails too.

Good morning from Shropshire.Another dry and warmer day forecast.

Yesterday DD and I cleaned mum’s house. It didn’t take too long thankfully as DD was very emotional being there. We went out for lunch then to visit mum which was difficult as well as she wasn’t well at all😢

A day catching up on laundry and housework before collecting DGD from school. We will take her for something to eat and then to her dance class.

Beautiful nails Bellasnana.

Hope today is better health wise Mick and that the keys turn up grandMattie.

Thoughts with FGT💐

Wishing everyone a good day 🦩🌻

Good morning from Sheffield

I’m glad people understand I wasn’t being silly about my little car.
It was literally like losing a pet and the most reliable car I’ve ever had. It was like driving a little dodgem car

So a working day today

I have an opticians appointment at lunchtime, I want him to have a look at a problem with my eye and then another quiet evening as United are at home again.

Take care everyone flowers

Good morning all from South Lanarkshire. It’s still raining.

Hope you have a better day today Mick.

It was a slow afternoon in the shop yesterday, everyone who came in complained about the cold, wet weather. Spring hasn’t sprung here yet.

Childminding today, we don’t do the morning school run so there’s no rush to be out early. I like to be there by late morning though so I can prepare the evening meal and make myself useful around the house before picking up the children.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

NannyJan53 Wed 25-Feb-26 06:56:54

Good morning from a dry Black Country. Yesterday it was quite warm in the sun.

Went to the cinema to see The Choral which was set in WW1 in a Yorkshire village. The older men and younger who were not old enough for War started a choir. £2 each with coffee, biscuit and recliner chairs. Then afterwards a late lunch in one of the Cafe Bars. I usually have the Bhudda Bowl there.

Sitting waiting for the bus in the warm sun was so welcome!

No real plans today, so I think weeding drive and cleaning the green patio is in order.

Wishing you all the best day possible. FGT flowers

Good morning from S E Essex, the sky is a lighter shade of grey this morning, and it is meant to be warm.

I shall go to the gym first thing, then I might tackle some other jobs which I have been putting off for a while.

Lovely nails Bellasnana 👍

Thinking of our friends with troubles and illness 🙋‍♀️

Gagagran Wed 25-Feb-26 07:24:07

Good Morning all from a clear sky and set to be sunny south coast. Still only 7 degrees but that will rise with the sunshine.

DH is out with his cycling club today and they will have a coffee and cake stop then lunch later. A quiet day for me until choir this evening.

We did a garden inspection yesterday and decided what needs doing. It's mainly getting the little weeds out of the borders. They have sprung up from nowhere with all the rain of late. An easy job if done now before they take root.

Thinking of all with struggles of any kind and especially FGT and her family.

karmalady Wed 25-Feb-26 07:25:27

Good morning from s somerset

Melanie I feel like you about my car, such a trusty vehicle

More boiler misery, I heard a gasket bang, water came down and boiler is off. No hot water nor ch. I have been looking into getting a vaillant but my system has complicated zoning and I think it would cost too much. I am thinking replacement like for like ariston. I think it would cost half the vaillant and as it would have an 8 year guarantee, would make more sense

Anyway the last heating co I used have not returned my call, they dislike ariston so I am contacting the original installer company, only 2 miles away. I am not throwing good money after bad with another repair. I will be comparing vaillant and ariston as this heating co does both

I could do without this unexpected expense the road is still impassible and we are trapped, unless walking

The upside is that the weather contains some uplifting sun and my spring flowers have started to bloom

luluaugust Wed 25-Feb-26 07:28:21

Good morning from a grey W Kent. Enjoyed the sun yesterday and got my banking problem sorted out by a very helpful lady. Rather odd day today as I have a friend coming for coffee this morning and then another coming for tea this afternoon. I shall sit back and chat. Later DGS3 is staying the night so dinner to cook. I am not usually this busy now
Love the nails Bella
Best wishes

Good morning all from a dry Black country.
Toddlers today hence the early start.
Have another voucher to use at a different place so will be eating out again could get used to this no cooking.
Lovely nails Bellasnana
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find a little bit of ☀️.

Gingster Wed 25-Feb-26 07:32:51

Good morning all .

Dd came out of hospital last evening. After waiting for four days to be moved to another ward, ‘they’ decided she had just had a nasty virus. Oh well she’s pleased to be home and can rest and recuperate 🙏.
DGD is delighted and can’t wait to see her mum, so will be taking her back after school. I’ll miss her.

I’m popping into town to get a few things and will meet my old neighbour/friend for a quick coffee and chat.

Thinking of FGT 💐
Hoping Marydolls DIL is coming out soon. 🤞.

Take care and enjoy the sunshine, those who have it.☀️

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. It’s a cool 6 degrees and the sun is up, burning off the fog. Yesterday was a very pleasant day, dry, sunny and mild. I had my eyes tested, fortunately no problems. I ordered new glasses as one eye had deteriorated slightly. Then walked into the shopping centre and had a mooch round several shops before heading home.

It’s yoga this morning, and my hairdresser is coming this afternoon.

Another difficult day for you yesterday susan, I hope today will be better for you.

baubles I hope the rain clears soon and you soon have signs of spring in Lanarkshire. Lots of daffodils and crocuses out here, but there’s time for wintry weather to come back to bite us!

* grandmattie* I hope you find your spare keys turn up soon, it’s always unsettling to lose keys.

Thinking of those who are struggling in any way.

brook2704 Wed 25-Feb-26 07:36:49

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s mild at 8° with light grey clouds but hope to see some sunshine later
I’ve the gym today and then looking forward to a coffee with a pal. The botanical gardens are just across from the gym so we’ll go there and hopefully see some colourful spring bulbs. Later this evening I’m going out line dancing so a busy day ahead
Such good news that your DD is home Gingster, also hoping Marydolls Dil is doing ok at home
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Redcar Wed 25-Feb-26 07:39:21

gingster I’m pleased that your Dd is now home, and hope she is able to recover fully now.

md I hope your DdiL is more comfortable at home and will also recover fully soon.

ginny Wed 25-Feb-26 07:40:54

Good morning from a dry N. Bucks. I’ll just whisper that a good amount of of sun is expected. DH is smiling as he is off to golf as they are able to use their trollers today.
I have a nail appointment and a hair appointment today and then off to WI committee meeting this evening .
Yes, it’s lovely to see the new growth outside and hopefully a bit of warmer, dry weather will encourage me to do a bit more walking.
Wishing all a good day especially those with worries and illness to deal with.

EkwaNimitee Wed 25-Feb-26 07:43:28

Good morning Mick and everyone from Carlisle where we have yet another day of heavy cloud. How I miss the days when DH and I used to winter in Spain.
I hope you have a better day Mick and get your jab soon too.

In town yesterday, I got my appointment at Specsavers...for tomorrow. I found I was due one anyway next month, it's every six months now as last time they found an incipient cataract.
Home to some vacuuming then a relaxing afternoon.

Today there is a large pile of ironing to tackle and possibly some bathroom cleaning, plus, should the weather allow, I have some pruning to do. It gets earlier each year, buds are bursting out all over already.
I have been mulling over my credit card statements but haven't spent as much as I thought on holiday. What looks like huge amounts in colones, with lots of 000 on the end, translates to modest amounts in pounds. Perhaps I should have squeezed even more chocolate into my case....

Wishing you all a good day if possible.

Sar53 Wed 25-Feb-26 07:43:45

Good morning from a sunny Essex coast, it makes a nice change.
I'm off to Leamington this morning for a week with DD1 and family.
DGD2 was 17 yesterday and it was the first night of the WAGS show, the old gang show. Her and DGD4 are both in it.
I'm going to see it on Friday and very much looking forward to it.
I'm not looking forward to the long journey but needs must.
Thinking of FGT and her family.
Have a good day, best wishes to all xx

Good morning from, dare I say it, sunny Leicestershire.

I had a fun afternoon with the other grans yesterday.
Today we are out for coffee with friends in a newly refurbished pub. Then NWR online quiz tonight.

I got the robot mower out yesterday as the grass is growing! I have lots of daffodils and crocuses out.

So pleased your DD is home Gingster.
Hoping everyone has the best day possible.

cornergran Wed 25-Feb-26 07:44:26

Morning Mick, morning All. A lighter morning with the promise of sunshine. All change again tomorrow it seems

Yesterday went to plan, a less dusty bungalow and a gleaming car.

Our lovely neighbours have had to move out after a serious bathroom leak and our world has been taken over by noisy contractors who it seems need a larger than anticipated percentage of our car park. Four weeks we’re told. Our neighbours are apologising to everyone although of course it’s not their fault. It will pass, as all things do.

Mr C has a birthday today, 83. He’s wondering where the years went and pleased he still feels 23 inside. We’ll be off out for a breakfast then we think a wander to Cheddar, there will be a cake stop at some point I’m sure. He has a very sweet tooth! I changed my recent habits and baked a cake which will come later, just 3 candles to blow out, our fire insurance won’t cover the other 80. smile.

Hope you feel better today mick, best wishes to everyone and a hope Wednesday is kind to us all

Liberty Wed 25-Feb-26 07:47:18

Good morning from a bright and sunny Suffolk with what looks like the remnants of an overnight light frost. Suddenly it seems, the snowdrops are on the wane and primroses are springing up all over the grass,I hesitate to call them lawns.

I’ll be off to my keep fit class in an hour and then meeting my dear friend who had the stroke in October. She has been cleared to drive again and, since she was previously on the go all the time,I was worried that she would return to that. She was always offering lifts to others etc.

She told me yesterday that she is resting and relaxing at home and, apart from meeting me,only going to the church coffee morning on Friday this week. How sensible.

Great to hear Gingster that your DD is now home but it must be frustrating for her and you that it couldn’t have happened a few days ago.

Thinking of FGT and hoping all have their best day possible.
