Good Morning Everyone,
A dark but dry start here in Brackley this morning.
Yesterdays plans went wrong as to a RSV Injection as the nurse had a double booking ,anyway I went to Bicester again ,had a coffee and a beer in Spoons , but noticed the signs of spring as well , in Bicester trees in blossom by a retirement home ,and on the way home Daffodils despite being small on a roundabout near M40 jnc 10 .
Today , usual bus trip to Bicester intend to dress down as its not as cold and wear a fleece jacket for a change.
Health wise had a bad day yesterday hope today is better .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where it will be a dry sunny day. I felt very much as if I was coming down with a bad cold and sore throat last night and if it continues to “cook” I will stay at home today and rest rather than go to writers group and spread it around.

Yesterday’s session at school was going well until the headmaster decided to hold an assembly after break as he had not had time to hold one in the morning, so that put the lid on me finishing my list and I went home early. I enjoyed the walk there and back in the spring sunshine - daffodils and snowdrops in the lanes and on roadside verges. DS rang at teatime for a chat, closely followed by GS who sent me a picture of the sausages and mash he had cooked for his tea! There were rather a lot of sausages and a token amount of green vegetables😏! He tried to tell me there were more under the mash but I’m not sure I believed him😂!

Have the best day you can, folks.

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. Spring is definitely in the air! The birds are noisy and we have daffodils and hyacinths out in the garden and the roses are in bud. My magnolia is going to be magnificent.

My friend gave me the number for her podiatrist yesterday. I think I’ll be ringing them on Friday after finishing the antibiotics. No discernible change in my toe at all!

I will listen to the first of my V&A Renaissance lectures this morning before going out for lunch with OH.

Have a good day.

Morning, 10 here in S Hants and dry.
Pretty Bellas.
Good news Gingster at last.
A tricky day for you Susan 💐
Two friends visited yesterday which was lovely, then MrJ visited the farm shop, picking up an empty egg tray for potato chitting.
Need to think about patio cleaning next.
Sorry about your boiler karma

Happy Birthday Mr cornergran 🎂🎉

Grandmabatty Wed 25-Feb-26 08:06:07

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 10° and dry although very grey. GrandMattie how annoying for you about the missing keys. Susan a difficult day yesterday.
Yesterday didn't start off well. I was replying to a school mum who had been asking about dgs1s birthday and the next thing I knew I was on the ground in the school playground. Dgs2 had inadvertently tripped me up. Once I'm down, I can't get back up so needed a hand. It seemed like the entire army of school mums and dads were there. The nursery staff came out too,one with a chair. Poor wee dgs2 kept saying, "I'm sorry grandma, I'm sorry." I was mortified but very appreciative of the help. Once I got home, I messaged dd to tell her and reassure her that I was fine. It's just as well I did, as the jungle drums were already at work and she got a message from a mum asking how I was. 🙄
Anyway I had a lazy day the rest of the day and counted my bumps and my blessings. The boys were very well behaved after school and my house wasn't too bad to tidy up. I managed to catch the fish van too and had lemon sole and chips for dinner, a particular treat of mine.
Today I am determined to be kind to myself and rest my bruises. I'll potter about the house and do whatever takes my fancy. My tumble dryer is busy with dds washing already. Dinner will be macaroni cheese. Have a good day all

Good morning all from Glasgow, where it is 10•C.

An event has come up on my calendar, but I have no idea what it is! I planned to staying today, I'm struggling with pain and fatigue and don't want to go anywhere.
As usual, I'm is my own fault. I decided to visit Home Bargains yesterday and ended up in nearly all the units
Matalan had a sake on and I got lots of birthday gifts for DS, DD and Babydoll.
Was also looking for a wicker laundry basket and picked up one in the sale. It was a successful sortie.

Last night, I had the Pastoral Parish Council, which overran by an hour and finished at 9pm.
Before that I was asked by the fundraising treasurer to meet her before the meeting and count the takings from the Laidies' afternoon, then put it in the safe,
Obviously, she didn't want to keep it in her home. I could have done without it,

Today, I must catch up with neglected housework and Parish admin. Perhaps I will bake
We have the school run to do this afternoon, so I will be able to check up on DIL.
The District Nurse visited her yesterday, which surprised me, considering, she was only discharged the previous evening.

Gingster, I am glad your DD is home.

Karma, I was interested in your plan to perhaps buy a Valliant boiler.. We had nothing but bother with outs, it broke down in the first week and flooded the kitchen. It then failed on a regular basis and we changed it after two year to a Worcester Bosch. The performance was so much better,

GM, try St. Anthony, he is the patron of lost things, St. Jude is the patron of lost causes.
Yesterday afternoon, I installed Tile trackers on DH's phone, keys and wallet. Last week, he lost his car keys and only found them a day later in his pyjama pocket.🤣
The Tiles had been lying for a week and he kept finding excuses, not to install them.
They are not cheap, but I have a Tile on my church keys, house keys and in my purse. They are amazing, I am always misplacing keys.

Best wishes for all the mountaineers, have a pleasant day, whatever your plans. I am finding it rather difficult to keep track of everyone's doings at the moment

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Soggy and grey but at least light!

Yarn group this morning where I'm desperate for help on my stalled pattern.

Then lunch with a potter friend and an expert in woodfired kilns. My friend wants to build one in her huge garden and as ever, I'm on board. 😂

Yesterday my recent helper, who had come for lunch and to glaze a pot, helped tidy the studio and we took a carload of rubbish and heavy boxes to the tip.

Gaelic was fun but tiring for my poor old brain.

I hope DiL is recovering well at home now Marydoll and that you can concentrate on your own health a bit more.

Glad to hear that your DD has been discharged from hospital now. Gingster

Keep safe and warm everyone.

Good morning ftom Javea Spain. I rarely post but read every day. Just had to add special thoughts to my fellow manc, FGT (Urm) and family. We were both in Spain when covid broke out and exchanged a few supporting private messages at the time. Sending love and positive thoughts to the family and others struggling with worries and health issues. Wishing you all the best dayflowers

Good Morning from Durham. Still a grey sky, but much milder.
It was after midnight when I got home last night, but DGS2 was a little star and went straight off to sleep after a short story.
Today I’m meeting my friend (who has RA). Looking forward to catching up, as we had to miss a date because of my tooth problem.
Disappointed that yet another electrician, the third, hasn’t responded to my call. I’ve several jobs, which would be a whole days work. Thankfully, nothing urgent.

Best wishes to all. X

Good morning everyone from a cloudy Northampton, but sunshine is promised. Wasn't yesterday beautiful - and it was the first day out for me without my winter boots on!

I got lots done at home, including washing the kitchen floor and making a batch of macaroni cheese - all portions were put into individual oven dishes and in the freezer. One delicious portion consumed last night! I have taken the steam mop upstairs with plans to do the bathroom floors...

Hairdressers yesterday afternoon and she worked her.usual miracle; I have squeezed in a.
next appointment in April which should be before my cataract surgery.

Hoping to get to the bank this afternoon as I need to sort one of my accounts before I go on holiday; they may well say leave it till I get back. Also have a list of things to get at the shops.

Am expecting a delivery of a new jacket from Trespass today - I admired someone's jacket at yoga on Monday and decided I needed one - and it was in the sale! But I have ordered a different colour to hers.

Wishing everyone the best day, but thinking of FGT2. flowersflowers

Good morning everyone from the east coast it’s getting brighter and I think a mild day is forecast.

So pleased your DD is home Gingster I hope she recovers well and enjoys the spring.
Grandmabatty Hope you aren’t too bruised from your fall yesterday.
Happy birthday Mr Cornergran

Yesterday it was a pleasant visit to visit my uncle. He has been in trouble as he nearly got into a full blown fight in his care home. He is a feisty 80 year old🤦 my mum was horrified to hear this though I remember her having a fight once in the front garden when I was a child though thankfully never in her old age.
She had to give me a taking to yesterday about how I am such a worrier about my family. I can’t help it. She said why worry yourself sick about things you have no control over. She has a point.

This morning I’ll go to the gym and this afternoon I have DGS again. DH has got the gym, a few hours work and giving blood later. He's a trouper. I’ll do a smoked haddock tea when GS goes home. It doesn’t take long.

Wishing everyone a day filled with moments of joy seeing the beautiful bulbs springing from the ground heralding spring is almost here. 🌼

Hoping for some 🌞 for everyone

hollysteers Wed 25-Feb-26 10:08:40

Good morning from a bright northwest coast.
The music club went well yesterday with a better turnout. I wasn’t hostessing so it was more relaxing. Then a bit of retail therapy, not that I need more clothes…

A restless night, hip hurting and woken by the cat, but off to the usual lunchtime recital and then opera co. rehearsal tonight.
My large pan of homemade chicken soup is serving me well. It’s too big to go into the fridge, so it’s residing in my car in the garage😁

Sorry you had a bad day healthwise Michael, birthday wishes Mr.*cornergran*, thoughts to FGT and all🌺

Ilovedogs22 Wed 25-Feb-26 10:37:41

Good morning everyone from a bright west midlands.
It's so lovely seeing all the garden plants awakening. I go around the garden telling them how beautiful they are. I was talking to a lovely Euphorbia today & congratulated her on her wonderfully, intricately, coloured whorls. The neighbours are probably rolling their eyes or tittering but heyho!
At least plants don't answer back, well apart from a rather snotty Penstemon! Best wishes to all & I hope you all have a peaceful day.😊

Ziplok Wed 25-Feb-26 10:58:30

Good morning,
What a gorgeous morning it is, mild, sunny and dry. It’s lovely to be able to open some windows and to get some washing outside to dry.
Yes, definitely signs of spring with all the beautiful spring flowers either in bloom or not far off and the birds singing cheerfully. It certainly lifts the spirits, doesn’t it?
I think it’s a return to cooler weather tomorrow, but at least we can enjoy what has been given us today.
