Good Morning Everyone,
A dark wet morning here in Brackley this morning.
The usual routine after breakfast and a bit of TV ,catch the bus to bus to Bicester and do a shop and chat to those I know.
Little bit disappointed with Royal Mail as to letters they may as well be on strike with what they have not done .
Health OK,
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Grey skies again.

Thanks for your photo gMattie

I slept well after ceilidh dancing last night. What a laugh it was. We have different leaders for each dance and last night a retired gym teacher did his best to teach us a tricky dance leaving many of us almost collapsing in laughter.

I'm happy to hear that your DH operation went well Baubles. Isn't it amazing to think he'll be home today!

Sorry to hear your aunt passed away Pant flowers

I shall be volunteering this morning, hair appt this afternoon and packing to go south tomorrow. My friend may come for fish Friday supper.

Hoping everyone has some joy today.

Good morning from soggy Leicestershire.

So sorry for your loss Pantglas life is treating you hard at the moment sending you a hug.

Pleased to hear all the ops went well.

I had quite a stressful video call with a Dutch official yesterday so I can get online access to my pension over there. She told me my name on my passport was not right. In the Netherlands you keep you maiden name. In the end she gave me permission so today I have to work out how to do it.

The battery was changed on my car but have since heard that many Toyota batteries are failing which is a worry.

Pilates today.

I know what you mean Bellasnana I too prefer being at home and pleasing myself what I do.
Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Today is Tesco 🚚, MrJ will visit the local hostelry this evening for a catch-up.

Good morning all from a soggy (again) North Leicestershire.

A normal Friday for me - Waitrose and the butcher's. I also have to go to collect my new glasses.. This afternoon a carpet man is coming to clean the lounge and dining room carpets. I dropped a whole bowl of kedgeree on the lounge carpet - oops.

DH is off to the gym and then having coffee with a few of his gum friends.

I, too, am wary of mentioning specific people so I will send condolences to the bereaved, get well wishes to the people who are unwell and hugs to those with worries.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning from a damp northwest coast.
Quiet day yesterday and off to art group soon.
Flying DD in the south not only is organising our family holiday to Greece, but has come up with an earlier holiday in Cornwall as she has never been. She’s such a blessing to me, busy as she is not only flying, working in her local hospital on days off and helping me with admin. About time I heard from my son😁

Condolences Pantglas and thoughts to all🌺

Cressy Fri 27-Feb-26 08:11:31

Grandmabatty is this the Greer Ralston film you mentioned some time ago? I started watching it but never finished. I was searching iPlayer yesterday and came across it again. What an interesting woman and well made documentary. Very talented too so thank you for that recommendation

Grandmabatty Fri 27-Feb-26 08:13:05

Yes, Cressy, it is. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

luluaugust Fri 27-Feb-26 08:17:01

Good morning from a grey W Kent. Busy day yesterday with art group which was very chatty followed by earwax removal and a visit to Waitrose. DGS3 and girlfriend came for dinner and more chatting, her background is quite different to ours but she is delightful. After they had left we collapsed into bed. Today is much quieter with a pile of washing to get going
Pantglas condolences on the loss of your aunt
Glad the ops went to plan
Safe travels and best wishes

Good morning from a damp Suffolk but it was expected after the last 3 sunny ones.

Good to hear that MrB should be home today. How the length of hospital stays after surgery( and childbirth) has changed dranmatically over the years.

Sad news fromPants but a positive thought for your DH that she wanted him to know that she was thinking of him in her distress.

I will make a start reading the masses of papers for my next monthly panel meeting which is an all day one next Wednesday. It’s always easier to make a start on a grey morning like this.

Hope today is the best it can be for all.

glammagran Fri 27-Feb-26 08:26:01

I meant to say earlier that I hope your DH recovers well from his TKR and is able to be discharged today Baubles. I hope your husband is not too sore NannyJan. That was a very cute photo of your son you posted yesterday BlueSapphire. Where do the years go.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 27-Feb-26 08:26:52

Good morning from a grey and drizzly S E Essex.

The 11yr old has gone off to school, the dishwasher and washing machine are doing their things I am enjoying a quiet latte watching breakfast news.

My condolences pantglas 💐

Good to see that the husbands operations went well 👍

I am off to the gym this morning, followed by a chat and catch up.

Madeleine sounds like your adventure was good for your soul.

This evening we are off to a local Thai restaurant for dinner.

Thinking of our friends with troubles 🙋‍♀️

WhiteSwan63 Fri 27-Feb-26 08:31:47

Good morning from the east coast. It’s grey and damp.
Today I am taking mum’s little old dog to the vets. She has a growth on her foot which she keeps licking and it’s really bothering her. She’s incontinent and deaf bless her so doesn’t take well to being disturbed. I do worry about mum when she doesn’t have her little companion by her side. When she goes to the dog groomer to be clipped she looks like a little puppy again.

We are going out tonight for a meal just the two of us with vouchers we got for Christmas. I will pay the top up and treat us to a lovely bottle of wine. It’s the start of DHs birthday weekend. He does so much for everyone so he deserves treating. We need to go for our big shop this afternoon in preparation for the weekend. He wants a couple of under armour tee shirts for the gym but that’s it.

Last night with my DGS was tricky which ended up with our en suite bathroom flooded. I always cover the entire floor with towels luckily as he splashes everywhere. He cried and self harmed. I kept calm and soothed him and he came round. Then I spent ages drying off the bathroom while he relaxed in our bed on his game before DH came home. He breaks my heart. I live for Fridays when child care is over until Monday.
I feel so guilty saying that.

I wish I could name everyone individually but I forget as I read I will have to jot down names as I go along.
Hoping you all a lovely day with moments of joy🌼

Marydoll Fri 27-Feb-26 08:36:28

Good morning all from a wet Glasgow, where it is 4¤C,

My condolences, Pants and glad to hear all went well Baubles.

Babydoll never stopped talking, in fact she never stopped since she arrived early yesterday morning, she was glued to my side for most of the day.
We made banana loaf and Mars Bar cake,
It was a very long process, for she either tested the ingredients or ate them.
The only respite was when I went to hand in my prescriptions and pick up Dollie's inhalers. The assistants were asking, where the Tasmanian Devil was, they love it, when she visits.😍!

DIL was waiting to hear about a large consignment of prescriptions and was rather anxious about it all. I asked the pharmacist if they had heard anything. She kindly had a look and said they had just received it.
They were so kind and made up some of it, while I waited and I will pick up the balance later today, along with my own stash.

I messaged both DIL and DS to alert them to my impeding visit. No response.
I was rather nervous about ringing the doorbell, (I had forgotten my keys) DS doesn't like being disturbed, when he is working from home.
I had suitcase full of medication for DIL and didn't want to have to come back later, as I had left Babydoll, with DH.
After getting no response, I realised the door was unlocked.
I went into the kitchen (soaked to the skin) to find DIL's mum, sitting, nursing a cup of coffee and holding court. She couldn't even be bothered to answer the door.🤬

I don't think DD's mother was too pleased to see me, Whatever I suggested or offered to do, she was so dismissive.
I am still annoyed at her, due to her behaviour last Sunday at our Ladies' afternoon.
I always include her in our parish events, although she and DIL's father can be rather dismissive and sneering of my Faith My friends are not at all enamoured with her.
She came empty handed, when everyonelse brought goodies. She sat with the tin of Roses, I bought, in front of her, helping herself and not sharing. Also, she never paid for a drink and at the end, picked up all the leftover food she hadn't brought and put it in her bag. 😔
I cannot understand that behaviour, when she is an exceedingly wealthy woman.
My friend across the road is still ranting about it!

This morning I need to drive to DS"s house to return Bear, Babydoll can"t sleep, without him. Well, she had to last night, he was stll in DH's car, when we arrived back home.😱
It's a round trip of an hour and both DH and I dread the journey. The traffic is always horrendous.

I apologise for my sorry post. I am feeling the weight of too many responsibilities, my own failing health and DH's worsening hearing.
I seem to be in a permanent bad mood.😪

Best wishes to you all.x

dragonfly46 Fri 27-Feb-26 08:50:26

Marydoll I find your posts amusing, not at all sorry. I am in awe of how much you do despite your poor health.

WhiteSwan63 Fri 27-Feb-26 08:51:57

Marydoll you have a rant to us all anytime you want to. 💐I would feel so annoyed too with your DIL’s mum. You already have so much to deal with. 🌼

Melanie61 Fri 27-Feb-26 08:56:08

Good morning from Sheffield

Another miserable day. We have one day of sunshine and get a bit carried away, but it’s a while before the weather changes. Never mind it is only February.

My optician appointment went well. She was very helpful and very kind
She said I have blocked Meibomian glands on my lower eyelid. I have a swelling along my inner eyelid edge which was concerning me as it didn’t follow the usual symptoms of a stye or blephritis. Anyway I came away with warm compress, drops and wipes.
She said it may take a while to clear up but I’m alright with that.

Take care everyoneflowers

Melanie61 Fri 27-Feb-26 08:56:30

Glad the hubbies are okay

Grammaretto Fri 27-Feb-26 09:13:47

If I did half as much as you do Marydoll I would be a miracle worker! I wonder what your secret is.
I hope you have a real break soon though and that all the meds for you as well as for DiL work.

BlueSapphire Fri 27-Feb-26 09:14:13

Good morning everyone from a damp, dank and dreary Northampton. I want to go to the shops today so will have to dodge the showers.

Everything tinged today with sadness as it was 8 years ago today that my darling DH died, I had been expecting it, but not quite so soon. We had 49 happy years together and he was and still is the love of my life. I have had some lovely messages this morning from my brother and youngest sister.

A bit of a shock yesterday as I heard that my other DSis has had a fall in her care home and broken her hip; she broke the other one five years ago. She should be.undergoing surgery as I write. Thankfully her eldest DD is.with her.

A busy day yesterday; mopped both bathroom floors and then damp-dusted the bedrooms, did a load of washing and dealt with a Sainsbury's delivery in the morning.
After lunch, realising that it had been dry for several days in a row, I bit the bullet and got the lawn mower out, and cut the back grass. It was hard going but the mower and I coped well!
I then got the loppers and the steps and tidied up the climbing rose and winter Jasmine on the pergola. I will need to find another gardener when I get back from holiday as I was let down badly last year by my previous one.

Hoping to hear better news later today about my DSis.
Wishing all dealing with sadness a better day today.

Bellasnana Fri 27-Feb-26 09:42:30

BlueSapphire sending you a big hug on this sad anniversary. It doesn’t get any easier does it.😞💐

BlueSapphire Fri 27-Feb-26 09:49:52

Thank you Bella.

Just also wanting to reassure Melanie that I had exactly the same; I got an appointment at eye casualty who said it was a blocked oil gland and would eventually clear up, but it took months.
They gave me eye drops and recommended hot compresses and gentle massage which eventually did the trick.

Gagagran Fri 27-Feb-26 10:01:41

A late Good Morning all!

I got up briefly at 5am then decided it was too soon and I wanted to finish the dream I had been having. So got back in bed and drifted off until 7am.

The Tesco delivery has just been and I have dealt with that. We are now enjoying coffee and I have read all the Good Morning posts so far.

I do so relate to your posts about enjoying being at home and doing what the fancy dictates, Bellasnana and dragonfly. I think lockdown took away my wanderlust and it has never returned. DH satisfies his own with his cycle club rides and is always happy to do any errands I need, on his bike. We only really use the car for appointments.

Kind thoughts to all in need of virtual support and especially FGT and family.

aggie Fri 27-Feb-26 10:04:38

Good Morning from a dry sunny 😎 Co Armagh
It was so wet yesterday morning as I struggled up the hill to Mass that I nipped into the local shop on my way home to buy some nice oat biscuits to have with a warming coffee, our cafe closed at Christmas, and we do miss it
Of course it dried up and we had a reasonable day
I guess my posts are boring , but I like to read everyone else’s bizzyness
I’m to see the dentist on Monday, I dread it ! I’ve anxiety flutters already , he is very gentle and understanding 😔

Cressy Fri 27-Feb-26 10:12:29

BlueSapphire Anniversaries never get easier do they? I do feel though that the raw grief they invoke ebbs quicker with time and I hope you have a brighter day tomorrow. 🪻

Marydoll Fri 27-Feb-26 10:20:54

Paddington walked all the way to Babydoll's and there was no-one at home. 😪
