Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark and dry at the moment here in Brackley , should be day light just after 0600.
Today usual bu trip to Bicester , but still in pain on right leg , maybe exercise and the use of paracetamol tablets may help ease it with deep heat spray.
Health otherwise OK ,
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a damp looking Torbay following a very foggy night.

I haven’t slept very well knowing I have to be up early for a dental hygienist's appointment. They insist that I go an hour before the scheduled time so that they can give me some liquid antibiotic. This is precautionary because I have had mitral valve repair surgery in the past and, if I were to pick up an infection through treatment of my teeth, it could have serious consequences for my heart apparently.

Thinking of those going through difficult times at the moment. I hope everyone is feeling some benefit from the recent spring like days. 🌞🌷🌤️

Good morning from Bristol. The full “worm” moon was very visible from my bedroom window last night.
The concert went well yesterday, with 123 attendees. It was rather full on, but seemed very successful, with many bopping away! I’ll post some photos in a moment, especially the one of abandoned walking sticks, while their owners were dancing away.
My meeting in the afternoon was 2 hours long, but pretty productive. Our temporary manager will apply for the permanent job, when it is advertised. She has got the measure of Mr. Teflon, and has told us of the conditions she wants before accepting the job - the garden and parts of the house are disgraceful, and need to be sorted out. Oh dear, money will need to be spent….
Not a lot on today, dinner at DD’s.
Have a good day one and all. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from Malta where a cloudy day is forecast with a high of 18°C.

Enjoyed my morning out yesterday catching up with my lovely friend over coffee then on the drive home I stopped to buy strawberries from a roadside stall. The season is just starting here and the local strawberries are delicious.

I had a dental appointment in the afternoon, I don’t think I’ve ever been in and out so quickly with a clean bill of health and only €20 to pay! I almost skipped home!😂

Hope your appointment goes well Ashcombe, annoying having to go so early but good that they take precautions.

Lovely photos grandMattie, it looks just as I’d imagined it! I’m glad it was a success.

I shall potter about doing some cleaning this morning, I’ve also started to do my walking at home exercises again which gives me a bit of a workout, then my hair at noon.

Wishing you all a good day, take care of that ankle Mick.☀️

Good morning from another cloudless Black Country.

Such a lovely sunny walk yesterday, not a cloud in sight.

Another walk today with my bi-weekly Walk & Talk group. We are going along the canal, hopefully it won't be as muddy as it was Saturday.

Hoping your Dental appointment goes well Ashcombe

Thinking of FGT flowers

Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset is promised a mix of sun and cloud today.

We both felt as if we’d had a little holiday yesterday. Two beaches, time with friends in their temporary home which overlooks a quiet bay. All under warm, bright sunshine. A definite lift to the spirits.

Real life intrudes today. Mr C has a far too early eye test this morning and a blood test after lunch. Not sure what we’ll do in between, perhaps some garden pottering to discourage the weeds.

Best wishes to all. Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning from a dark, drizzly, quiet Cornwall.

I ended up in St Ives yesterday, couldn't resist it with the sun shining. Took the train to save time and walked up through the back of the town, up steep hills and through meandering alleyways to a little hidden park where I had my packed lunch and then ambled to the Tate gallery where I renewed my locals' annual pass (photo of Porthmeor beach from inside the gallery). The harbour was looking beautiful as usual, such a tonic to the soul. Back home by train and bus, with the bus journey fairly chaotic as the main bus station is closed. The staff were handling the situation brilliantly with lots of patience and smiles as they tried to direct umpteen double decker buses in a temporary limited space.

My friend I was at infant school with texted me last evening to arrange meeting up soon. We giggle when we're together so we'll need to find a café where we can laugh in a quiet corner.

Today I'm treating my youngest son to lunch at Wetherspoons to celebrate his 42nd birthday and have a good catch up with him.

Sar53 Thu 05-Mar-26 06:48:22

Good morning from a slowly brightening Essex coast. I think today will be sunny and a little warmer.
I'm back from a very busy week at DD1's house but loved being with 3 of my DGDs. The eldest S and the youngest E took part in the WAGS show.
I went to see it twice and loved every minute. S coped well but ended up back in hospital early on Monday morning.
This morning is a big food shop and this afternoon a big pile of ironing awaits.
It's lovely to see FGT2 posting.
Have a great day everyone, best wishes to all xx

Good morning from Sheffield

I am at my DGS’s school this morning. There is a Reading Cafe? Not sure what that entails . My daughter is working so I shall go instead. I remember when I was little and my mum could never come to school events because she was working . I can remember how much this upset me. One memorable time was when I locked myself in the toilet and wouldn’t come out. They had to fetch her to talk me out. We lived and worked next door but one to the school.
I promised myself that I would always go to my kids school events. If I couldn’t go my mum would go instead, ironic isn’t it.

Family are here for tea. I have made a pork goulash
Take care everyonethanks

Good morning all from a misty North Leicestershire.

Today I am helping at a Memory Cafe for the first time since September. I am having my highlights done later - desperately needed.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Marydoll Thu 05-Mar-26 07:04:43

Good morning all, from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 10C.
A very restless night, but a day of Babydoll ro look forward to. I shall just have to get on with it.
DH is in a foul mood, which doesn't help. His behaviour is becoming increasingly difficult.😪

Bella, those strawberries sound delicious.

Ash, I am in a similar position, but I am permanently on prophyllactic antibiotics, which avoids having to take antibiotics before each appointment. Good luck with your appointment.

Baubles, I hope your DH managed to get someone look at his wound.

Yesterday was so busy, we took DIL to the hospital and while I was waiting for DIL, DH, bumped into her mother in the hospital foyer.
Her father had an appointment at the same time, but they had kept that quiet!!!
On the way home, DIL mentioned that she had a text from the chemist, advising her, that a prescription was waiting, she had no idea, who it was for, it turned out, it was Dollie's inhaler, DIL is so confused just now.

Best wishes to all.

Good morning from a brightening Leicestershire.

I had a fright yesterday. I was trawling the charity shops looking for a plate similar to the one my cleaner knocked off the wall and left my phone in one of them. Fortunately my Apple Watch alerted me when I was on the other side of town so I hot footed back there.

In the afternoon DH tried to carry in three heavy bags from the Ocado delivery and fell over. He seemed okay but hoping he is this morning.

DS informed me that not only he and the children are coming at the weekend but DD and SiL also so will need to shop for more supplies today. My DD is very bad at communicating!

Wishing every one a good day.

Greyduster Thu 05-Mar-26 07:12:17

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where the fog is so thick you can’t see the end of the road! I hope it clears in time for me to drive over to walking group.

Yesterday's appointment with the NHS physio was disappointing. I’ve seen him before and the exercises he gave me were painful and not effective. I pointed this out to him but he has given me the same exercises again. I came home feeling rather glum, but an afternoon in the garden tidying and working on my rockery wall cheered me up. DS phoned for a chat. He was sitting on the balcony of his office building which looks over the river and Lendal Bridge in York, enjoying the sun and eating a late lunch. It all looked quite idyllic.

Well all plans are on hold now until I see whether this fog clears so have the best day you can, folks.

madeleine45 Thu 05-Mar-26 07:13:15

Good morning Mick and all GN's on a still cold morning in North Yorkshire. No sign of rain which is a blessing, but very chilly and we are promised more cold and a possible dash of snow so the winter clothes still needed at the moment.

Yesterday we had lovely sunny weather with daffodils and blossom all rushing out to enjoy the sun. Well it looked lovely, but was very cold if you went out. Still cheering to see the sun at last.

My halo was shining by yesterday evening. I am still stuck with wretched coughing which is making my ribs ache and now my chest is painful especially when I actually cough. So wasnt up to trying to do anything outside so reluctantly faced the ironing mountain. However I persevered and spent all morning with it but now the rewards. Empty basket and a total choice of T shirts tops and trousers. That cheering moment when for that little time everything from me to clothes is clean , ironed and tidy . Felt rather weary but pleased with myself and awarded myself a good coffee and a toasted teacake, which was much enjoyed.

That was as much as I felt able to do and so still havent dealt with muddy car and windscreen scraper etc, and dont think it is likely to be sorted today either. Went to whist, which was very full last night and some odd hands. No prize or raffle win but mostly an enjoyable evening. But there is a bit of a conundrum.

A couple have recently joined. She is a reasonable player and fits in quite well. Now we allow for peoples foibles and ways of playing, but we are all of a reasonably good level of playing. So we reckonize strategies such as playing a low card can tell your partner that you have the king and so if they have the ace, for them to play that and then play the same suite so that you will gain with your king. There are many ways that you can have a good idea of what your partner is likely to have, and you count how many cards of a suite played so that you work out possible ideas, with your knowledge of what has already gone to improve matters. So you need to know your cards and have some basic ideas to fit in as games are played quite fast with everyone knowing what they are doing.

Now this man is not only a beginner - which is the kindest thing you can say - but is actually worse than a beginner. He doesnt sort his cards out in a sensible way, you have no idea what he is going to do, doesnt count how many cards in a suit gone and trumps a trick showing he has none of that suit left and then promptly using a card of that suit to play another trick. So we all make the odd mistake and play the wrong thing, but now when his partner has played the highest card and would have won the trick he trumps it etc. So he is like a loose cannon, and does not seem either prepared or able to learn, but over the game last night he really caused havoc.
People are out for a pleasant evening ,not worrying much about winning , but looking for a chance to use their brains and forget the worries at home etc. Last night every person that moved to my table was somewhat steaming with annoyance. From the person who said they felt like not coming anymore as they came for some pleasure and not to feel furious by this mans playing etc etc. To another who said he had trumped a trick and two tricks later showed he had had a card of that suit and so they had to go back and try and work out what should have happened. I dont know how this will pan out , as we do try to be welcoming to everyone and make allowances but this is a different scenario , with him not seeming to want to learn and upsetting many people and the worry is that if nothing happens some of the regulars may stop coming. Ah well we shall see what happens. Personally I was nowhere near winning anything but one or two were somewhat annoyed to see their hands spoilt. But it certainly takes your mind from aches and pains and the sorry state of the world at the moment!

Today I have a meeting this morning at the library, instead of going to my usual thursday at Upfront and need to get there early as there is only one disabled space in their car park and I am struggling today and wont be ableto get out of the car without opening the door wide, and it is definitely too cold to go on the yellow peril. Then fingers crossed the cleaners come this afternoon, as I am really struggling to bend or reach things and there are some things that even my grabber cant move etc. I have already put a beetroot jar out to remind me to ask them to open it. These little things are so maddening when you cant do them any more. I have bought various supposed jar openers but the beetroot jar defeats them and I darent risk trying to bang it or anything as the thought of beetroot juice being all over the kitchen and me is not a good one!

Tonight I have no plans to be out and will be glad of an evening , hopefully sat in clean and tidy surroundings , and just need to check through the calendar and appointment times etc. Sent a couple of emails to my son but had no reply so not sure if he is away or what so might ring and see how they are doing.

hope your leg improves Mick and you have a good trip on the bus. Good photos GrandMattie and fingers crossed, sounds a possible improvement at least with this new agent. Cant be worse than the Teflon man can she? Bellasnana envy you your strawberries. We are a long way away from home grown ones here.

Well the sky has lightened somewhat but now a little breeze, and very grey still , so no sign of sun at all. Still the snowdrops and my miniature daffodils are cheering the view for now. Hope everyone has a good day with things going to plan.

EkwaNimitee Thu 05-Mar-26 07:14:22

Good morning Mick and all from greyish Carlisle. I think we're due a day of sun and showers.
Yesterday, after demolishing the ironing and having a clean up in the kitchen and downstairs toilet, it was out in the garden. I planted some of my recent purchases and tidied up my raised bed. A new cat has appeared in the neighbourhood and has taken to using it as a toilet, scattering bulbs everywhere and leaving a disgusting deposit. I have planted extra bulbs and netted it over temporarily plus I shall apply my cat deterrent...curry powder!
Today...not much planned. I'd like to tick off some of the 'special' jobs on my long list and go for a walk after lunch, weather permitting. A Tesco delivery is due late morning/lunchtime.

Have the best possible day everyone.

Redcar Thu 05-Mar-26 07:18:01

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. The fog seems to be clearing thank goodness, yesterday was grey and cold, a real change from earlier in the week.

I’m going to DD1’s again today as she and her DH are both in the office today. I’ll have a restful day with their dog and then less restful when the DGDs get home from school this afternoon. DD2 will call round later.

sar I’m sorry that S has been in hospital again, but it’s good that she was able to take part in the WAGs show.

marzipan I’m envious of your day out yesterday!

ash I hope your dental appointment goes well today, good that the dentist takes care that you don’t get any infection from the treatment,

bellasnana strawberry season already - lucky you! We can buy strawberries almost year round now, but those we buy in the winter and early spring are fairly hard and tasteless.

Thinking of those with struggles today and hope life is kinder to you today.

Have the best day you can everyone, may we all have some sunshine.

Grandmabatty Thu 05-Mar-26 07:30:32

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 9° and dry. 3 days in a row! I just saw a lovely sunrise too. So many nice photos on the thread this morning. Ash I hope your dentist visit goes well.
Yesterday was a quiet day after the boys were deposited at school/nursery. I pottered about and had a nap before picking them up again. They were both very good. I have developed a bent over finger on my right hand. It's not particularly painful but I've no idea what's caused it.
Today I have a chiropodist appointment then this afternoon is art class. I'll start a pastel I think. Have a good day all

Georgesgran Thu 05-Mar-26 07:34:16

Good morning from Durham. Not a promising start to the day here. Thank you for your support yesterday - I had a quiet day, but caught up with admin and some mundane tasks at home before a long walk with DD2’s Little Dog.
I’m meeting an old work colleague this morning, then home to change my cushions and curtains (been promising to do that all week) before I walk the dog. He might go home tonight, still to be decided.

Best wishes to all. X

monk08 Thu 05-Mar-26 07:39:42

Good morning all from a sunny Black country.
Toddlers was busy again we may have to put a limit on it although we don't want to turn people away, they are the best group of mums and dads we have had.
Local shop today and perhaps a walk somewhere see what DH wants to do when he wakes up.
Best wishes to anyone celebrating, safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed ☀️.

hollysteers Thu 05-Mar-26 07:45:43

Good morning from Sunnyside sandhills northwest coast,
An active day yesterday. The weekly lunchtime concert in town was very good, although I wasn’t keen on the programme. I’m having to go earlier to secure a front row seat, which I like. Then a little shopping.

In the evening, after sausage and mash, to the opera co. in the city. We had auditions for solos in future concerts.

Later today my DS is coming over from the city, so must think up any jobs he could do and I’m going to bake a piece of gammon.
Nice photos and thoughts to all🌺

Liberty Thu 05-Mar-26 07:52:17

Good morning from a now sunny Suffolk where there was thick mist until about 10 mins ago. After a lovely sunny start yesterday, grey heavy mist descended just before my Teams meeting started at 9.30 and hung around all day. Hopefully the sun today will be here to stay.

I have my stretch class later and then I need to replenish my stock of birthday cards as there are several family and friends ones in the next few weeks. No doubt I shall be shocked again when I go to buy stamps at the post office at the cost of them.

Hope today is a good one for all.

ginny Thu 05-Mar-26 07:57:43

Good morning from a pleasant sunny if chilly N. Bucks.
Off to art class this morning but no sewing club this afternoon. They are doing a workshop and it is something I have done before and not particularly enjoyed. I have made my apologies.
Need to bake a requested chocolate cake and a batch of pastry for pies.
A good day wished for all.

harrigran Thu 05-Mar-26 07:58:33

Good morning from a misty NE.
Successful shopping trip yesterday, got all I needed for another week and bought some jeans and a top.
We had refreshments and a chat about the sad demise of DS's old work colleague at the medical practice. I knew the lady too as I worked with her at the local hospital in the 1960s.
Today is an easy day just recycling to sort.
Have a good day.

brook2704 Thu 05-Mar-26 07:58:47

Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’ve light grey clouds
Lovely photos today, thank you
We’ve nothing planned today so I think we’ll go out for a short walk this morning followed by coffee at a garden centre later. This afternoon if it’s dry I hope to get some gardening done but will see.
Sorry to hear S ended up back in hospital Sar, hope she’s back home again now
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
