Breaking news.Died in prison after being attacked 👍One scumbag less😂

62Granny Sat 07-Mar-26 11:07:04

I'm am sure another one will take his place in no time at all unfortunately.

1960srelic Sat 07-Mar-26 11:10:36

The attack should never have happened. His killer had also been convicted of murder. We don't do capital punishment in this country, whatever the crime, even though his were beyond awful.

Grandma70s Sat 07-Mar-26 11:21:43

Will his killer now be charged with murder, another murder?

Fradders Sat 07-Mar-26 11:25:21

Not sad he is dead.Disgraceful that he was attacked in prison by another murderer,Huntley had been attacked before, shame on the prison service.

Kandinsky Sat 07-Mar-26 11:40:50

Brilliant!

ferry23 Sat 07-Mar-26 11:53:38

The alleged attacker was a triple murderer and rapist on a life term. So what punishment is left for him?

IF - and that's a big IF - the reporting is correct, then the attacker wasn't feeling any misguided moral outrage towards Huntley because of his crimes, but became angry because of Huntley's alleged bullying of him.

This is a world I don't understand, and have no wish to.

He is on a whole life tariff anyway. What difference will it make.
I have no sympathy or sadness for Huntley but I don't like the attitude of a thread started on Mumsnet who said that a killer of four who raped someone deserved a medal. He is as bad.

Primrose53 Sat 07-Mar-26 12:45:40

There is already a thread about Huntley.

Whilst I agree he shouldn’t have been murdered, I cannot shed any tears at his death!

keepingquiet Sat 07-Mar-26 13:06:04

Let's hope that's the end of any publicity for this poor apology of a human being. The man who killed him is no hero either- let's hope it is an end to this publicity neither of them deserve.

merlotgran Sat 07-Mar-26 13:26:07

I hope when this news runs its course the Wells and Chapman families can move on with their lives knowing that there will be no more news items about attempted suicide and/or prison attacks on Huntley.

I doubt anyone In Soham will be sorry he’s dead.

Charleygirl5 Sat 07-Mar-26 13:36:14

Also, not even his poor mother. It shouldn't have happened in prison, but I will not be losing any sleep over it. His cell will have another inmate now.

HelterSkelter1 Sat 07-Mar-26 13:42:09

It doesn't seem possible it's 24 years ago those 2 little girls were murdered. Those poor families have lived through those years somehow and hopefully now can breathe a sigh of relief.
I so hope the gutter press don't make a nuisance of themselves again in Soham and stir it all up for the families and the residents.

Someone has suggested it is best to link existing threads. I don’t know if I’ve done this right, but hopefully this is a link to the thread under News & Politics.

One vile creature out of the way and not having to be accommodated in prison courtesy of the taxpayer.

Capital punishment by selection.

Charleygirl5 Sun 08-Mar-26 22:29:01

I am unsure who should pay funeral costs. I feel sorry for his family as they appear to feel the same way as us, but should it be the taxpayer? I don't think so. I would dig a hole and dump him in it.

Unfortunately, with a pauper's funeral, more than one person is put in the grave.

I don't think anyone should have to share their final resting place with Huntley. Cremation then put in a hole away from others?

Charleygirl5 Sun 08-Mar-26 23:01:43

Thanks, Allira I didn't realise the graves were shared. Yes, cremate and then throw.

Celieanne86 Sun 08-Mar-26 23:30:25

No Allira you are wrong. A paupers funeral is never in a shared grave, whatever gave you that idea. They bodies are always cremated when paid for by the city unless the family offer to pay and arrange and pay for a funeral. Yes it does happen.sometimes.

NotSpaghetti Mon 09-Mar-26 07:03:46

I have seen nothing about how he was killed whilst in custody.
It shouldn't have happened - irrespective of his terrible crimes.

NotSpaghetti Mon 09-Mar-26 07:11:07

...I see on the other (ugly) thread it must have been in a workshop.

rafichagran Mon 09-Mar-26 11:40:22

The attack should not have happened in prison. I have no feelings about Huntleys death, however people saying good, and being pleased about it makes me feel uncomfortable.

I have even seen it written on another site that the killer deserves a medal. This is disgraceful, he has now murdered 4 people and raped some poor woman.

Huntley was a evil manipulative man, in prison with other evil men. It was just a case of trash taking out trash as they say in the American penal system.

Sadgrandma Mon 09-Mar-26 11:46:09

Shedding no tears over Huntley. Hope he’s down in the hot place!
However, it is concerning that his killer had access to the metal bar and his previous attackers had access to razor blades as these could have been used to attack prison officers.

Doodledog Mon 09-Mar-26 11:49:23

Jeremy vine said that Huntley's daughter feels he shouldn't have a grave. Apparently she (the daughter) was the result of a rape by Huntley, and she found out because of a news report which had a badly pixellated photo of her mother. Imagine the trauma of that?
