Good evening from Cambridgshire. Just getting around to today's posts. It has been dry and reasonably temperate, but nowhere near as warm and sunny as yesterday.
Shopping today, then a little gardening, but with weeding and planting, I did not get around to lifting the snowdrops that have become rampant.
Having been donated a pile of fabric and cards, I sorted it to go in multiple directions. My lovely friend Liz makes astonishingly beautiful baby quilts for the hospital. Some will go to a crafting workshop for children and some to craft sessions for care homes.

Michael12 Good afternoon to you all!

I'm happy to have today off work as I've had the 4th really bad night with menopause/leg and foot cramps, barely any sleep and like a zombie! I also have a stinking cold on me with thumping headaches, etc!

So I went into my favourite cafe here in Whitby this morning for a gorgeous Full English, went to Spar for a few bits and am now at home for the past few hours.

Scoffing a bag of Spar Breaded Chicken Nuggets in the microwave for 3 minutes, with mayo, 2 slices hard-boiled eggs, vinegar and a cuppa, then off back to bed with hot water bottles and Boots Night Nurse!

I have a ton of lovely books to read, but I can't at the moment!

Have a good one all of you!

Not good morning, but good afternoon from a sunny, mild South Wales. Not as warm as yesterday, which saw me sitting outside enjoying the sounds of the new baby lambs in the next field. Did have to ward off the first wasp of the year, didn't kill it, just sent it on it's way!! There has been so much rain over the winter months, it is great to enjoy such nice weather.

Ilovedogs22 Fri 20-Mar-26 11:11:00

Good morning everyone from a chilly but bright west midlands.
I always get wanderlust at this time of year but I'll have to settle for a shop & walk later on.
A bit moany at the moment too as my poor boney knees are blooming freezing! I may put-on my ugly wooly leggings and tittilate DH!
Best wishes to all & thinking of those who are struggling with more important things than freezy knees.

Good morning everyone from an overcast Northampton, but sunny spells are expected later which will be good news for the loads of washing I have returned from Spain with!

Had a good journey back, with some sad goodbyes on arrival at Heathrow, but then found myself being transported home with three of my fellow travellers in the same car!

Today will be unpacking and sorting piles of washing. I have a Waitrose delivery late afternoon to restock the cupboards and the fridge and freezer, so have no need to go out. The cats have returned from the cattery, the daily paper has been delivered, so normal service has been resumed!

Wishing all a good day.

Good morning everyone from a foggy south Manchester. It will be 14°C later apparently.

I’m off to the Trafford Centre in an hour, meeting a friend in the John Lewis cafe. We start with coffee so we can catch up on our news then we meander through the mall ending up at M&S for a mooch and groceries as that’s where the bus terminus is. We have it off to a fine art now which pleases me.

Mid afternoon I have a facial booked and this evening I’m meeting my little family of four in the pub before we enjoy a curry. We all enjoyed doing that last Friday they all want to do the same again tonight. So, a busy full on day for me, full of nice events. I’m lucky. x

Good morning from a bright northwest coast.
I did enjoy yesterday. I joined my drying sheets in the garden in the sun and read about the court of Henry VIII.

Up and down carrying on sorting my art room. I have so much equipment, I could open an art shop, same with makeup…could open a cosmetics shop.

I made a large pan of chicken soup from the carcass. Pan so big I can’t store it in the fridge, so I’m putting it in separate containers to freeze.
In the evening, I started watching “Love for Lydia’ on YouTube. Amazing to think I last watched it in 1977, when my youngest was two.
Off soon to art group and send thoughts to all🌺

WhiteSwan63 Fri 20-Mar-26 08:34:21

Good morning from a grey but dry east coast.

My DGD passed her grading in Jujitsu yesterday and is now the proud owner of a blue and white belt. GD2 who is four is starting soon and GD1 can be her mentor. So proud.

DGS has had a great week at school and super at ours though the weather helped. While playing in the garden with him last night I started with a migraine I usually get one or two a year. 2 paracetamol sees it off as soon as I see the wiggly watery lines and it went. While watching tv last night it came back so I had to take two Neurofen and it went again. That’s never happened before.
I’m due for the gym this morning but I feel a bit groggy so I’m not sure whether to go.

Wishing everyone a day with moments of joy🌼
Thoughts to those feeling sad or poorly 💐
Enjoy those proud moments with grandchildren.

Good morning all from a sunny Glasgow.

Firstly, I want to thank those, who have 'checked' on me.

I am finding life rather overwhelming at the moment, both health and family wise.
I am failing miserably, to be all things to all people.
DIL is very low, the District Nurse is still coming in daily. to dress her large wound.

Keeping an eye on her, frequent pharmacy trips, (for heavy bags of protein drinks, dressings, painkillers etc) school runs, hospital visits and looking after Babydoll ( she was unwell yesterday and exhausting) are taking its toll.
DS leaves early in the morning, so we are the main support network.
DH has been great, my failing health means he has been doing most of the early school runs.

There seems to be no respite from the constant pain and chronic fatigue, despite biologics and a maximum dose of painkillers.. RA is indeed a cruel disease.
Chronic pain changes you and makes you become a grumpy and not very pleasant old woman, who tends to speak her mind! One of the reasons, I have not been posting.😉

I saw a thread on GN, where a poster asked how you respond to a clinician, when asked what level your pain is on a scale of 1to 10.
Mine never drops below 8 and at the moment is at least 10!

DIL has just messaged. she has been out once to the shops since her op, but badly needs loose fitting clothes.
She has just managed to get a hold of the District nurse, who will now come after lunch.
Consequently, we are off to Silverburn to dress her. There are lots of seating areas, where she and) can rest.
It's quite ironic, really. Children are supposed to be looking after their parents, not vice versa.😉

My best wishes to you all. Sorry about your car, Ash and I hope those, who have family, who are ill, are making progress.
The sun is shining through the window, how it lifts one's spirits. MDx

Jaxjacky we had full fibre installed by Openreach a few weeks ago and it was done without any problems and very efficiently. I think the multiple texts are to cover their backs.
I hope it all goes well.

Jaxjacky Fri 20-Mar-26 08:14:18

Morning from a sunny S Hants, yesterday we had a river walk, today I’ll be pottering.
Tesco delivering this afternoon, MrJ will pop in the pub tonight, hopefully I’ll be able to join him soon.
We’re getting full fibre installed, I could do without multiple text from Openreach, it doesn’t bode well.

Good morning from an overcast NE.
My sister and BIL came yesterday and we went to the supermarket. When I returned home there was a parcel on the doorstep. I had not ordered anything so was surprised, when I opened it I found it was from my old neighbour in Cumbria, sent to cheer me up because I hadn't been well. It was an M & S afternoon tea hamper.

Today I am going out for lunch with my friend but I have just realised it is her DH's birthday. I am surprised she agreed to meet up.

Have a good day.

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 20-Mar-26 08:09:56

Morning all from West Oxfordshire, it seems I’m having a lie in! I was up very early yesterday for my London trip.

In fact I had a lovely day yesterday. The study day on ‘wallpaper’ was excellent.

It was good to meet younger son afterwards for an early dinner. I hadn’t seen him since just before Christmas. He had the usual stories about his life as a civil servant.

I have various things to do today, including listening to two Renaissance lectures which I missed on Wednesday. I also have a parcel to collect from Waitrose and petrol (eek) to buy. The WI secretary wants to pop round so we can update the national data base with the extra information. I might put her off until next week.

Have a good day. It would be good to hear from MaryD.

EkwaNimitee Fri 20-Mar-26 07:57:28

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Carlisle.

It was quite busy yesterday morning, a bit of cleaning followed by a Tesco delivery mid-morning and, as soon as the driver had gone, the installer of my dash cams arrived. It took him well over an hour, now I have to get my head round using them. They're very subtle, lots smaller than I expected. I have to get the associated app onto my phone now.

After lunch, I went for a walk in the park. Another close encounter with a wheeled vehicle, this time a mobility scooter driven by a youngish man at definitely more than the 10mph I thought they were limited to. No warnings...some innocent walker could be crippled for life.

Today, the gas boiler is being serviced then I will probably go out in the car to see how the dash cams are working. An excuse to go to the garden centre to look over the new stock and get my free coffee. Then the afternoon is at leisure, I shall probably catch up with my reading plus do a little admin.

Have a good day everyone if you can.

Good morning everyone from mid Essex, the sun is trying to burn off the mist and low cloud, and it’s a cold 3 degrees!
Yesterday was a beautiful day, wall to wall sunshine. I had a longer walk than usual, incorporating a trip to the pharmacy for more dressings for my leg.

I had a disturbed night, like many others on this thread! Woken at 1.00 by a WhatsApp message from my niece in Australia with a photo of her mum cuddling my niece’s baby 14 years ago! Our family WhatsApp group had been messaging all evening with photos of my dear sister in law with my DGDs as babies. I can manage on 4 hours sleep so will just get on with things.

Late afternoon or early evening I had a delivery of post, an important letter from the solicitor dealing with my late godmother’s probate. I’ll need to go to the post office this morning to post my response.

ash I’m pleased that Don Quixote was so enjoyable, and hope you have an easy journey to Crewe. You must be so proud of your DGD, and I hope you have a good time with your family. It’s good to be able to forget your worries over your car, even if just for a few hours.

luluaugust, a relief that your DGD has been able to have the meningitis vaccination and that she’ll be at home until after Easter. Hopefully she’ll be able to relax with family away from the situation.

gagagran, so pleased your husband is getting on well with his hearing aids, it must make such a difference to your lives!

I hope marydoll will be back with us soon.

Thinking of all who are struggling.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning all from a misty Black country.
Yesterday a trip to Stratford with fish and chips by the river a very enjoyable day.
Today as the weather not so good will catch up on some housework and there is ironing in the basket looking at me.
Thoughts with missing posters.
Best wishes everyone, enjoy your day whatever your plans ☀️.

Gingster Fri 20-Mar-26 07:27:33

Good morning all and it’s very chilly but the sun is shining here in Essex.

Today I’ll shop and then we’ll meet our friends for our lunchtime drinks. The chap who works there as a gardener has whittled each of us ladies a beautifully carved walking stick. He won’t take any money but I need to get him something as a Thankyou.

Take care all 🌱

Grandmabatty Fri 20-Mar-26 07:27:17

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 3° with a heavy mist. I can barely see my neighbour's tree. Madeleine I hope the doctor can help you. Ashcombe safe journey to Crewe.
Yesterday was a good day. I was collecting stuff i might have needed for the car, when I realised my driving licence was out of date. I hadn't updated my change of address from when I moved and the photo part was also out of date. Fortunately it was very simple to sort it out online and my new licence is winging its way to me. I then picked up my new car. There's a slight blemish on the roof which the salesman pointed out to me and they'll fix. I was so excited that I started to drive and hadn't put on the seat belt nor fixed the rear view mirror for my short stature. It was soon rectified before I joined the main road. It's a very nice car although I struggled a little with reverse which is different to the last car. Nothing daunted, I headed to Stirling for the art class. I started a large mixed media which I have been preparing for and I'm pleased with it so far. Greer was very happy with it too and extremely complimentary.
Once home, the shine of the day was only slightly dimmed by my reading glasses breaking in two. I'm rather annoyed as they were expensive but the frames were older ones so no point in going to the optician. I have a pair of reading glasses which will do in the meantime, although they aren't quite my prescription.
Today I'll go to the school library for a while then home to read the car handbook and check out where everything is. Fortunately it has automatic lights, so that will help with driving in the mist. At some point the new(cheap) reading glasses should arrive. The plan for the next few days is to get rid of everything I had stored in the old car to take to the charity shop and never did. Dinner will be very ordinary-pie, chips and beans- but enjoyable. Have a good day all

brook2704 Fri 20-Mar-26 07:26:58

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s bright and sunny and a warm day forecast
Hope your eye appointment goes well today luluaugust and good that your DGD has got her jab now
I’ve an online volunteering session this morning and then off to the gym for a couple of dance classes. Then I’m looking forward to seeing all the spring bulbs in flower along the riverside walk back into town.
Hoping Marydoll is doing ok
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

cornergran Fri 20-Mar-26 07:08:52

Morning Mick, morning All. Clear skies over our corner of Somerset, more sunshine today.

Yesterday went more or less to plan. The bedding dried beautifully on the line. Such a treat. Mr C loves his new glasses, very different - I’m adjusting. Some garden tidying, a quick charity shop drop off with time for a cuppa before a call to our Welsh friend. I increasingly find some of her comments both inappropriate and hurtful. A long chat with a son later - even if I was half way through my meal - cheered me.

Volunteering this morning, more food gathering for next week and some general faffing at home will fill today.

Best wishes to all. Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning from dry and bright South Lanarkshire.

We had glorious weather yesterday, it’s so good to feel the warmth of the sun.

I’m another who has had a rubbish sleep, feeling like a half shut knife at the moment.

The nurse was pleased with DH’s knee, the wound is a scabby mess but the skin is no longer raw so he can start using ointment on it now.

I have no plans for today so I’m free to potter.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.
