Good morning, it’s dry here in south Glos at the moment but we’re forecast drizzly rain. I hope it holds off until after tiddler and I have our early morning wander.
I back out of cutting back the triffid rose yesterday, so sat and directed DH instead 😁. It’s now looking much tidier and I hope it doesn’t take off again this year.
A quiet but nice day, sat in the Shed stitching away. I’ve almost finished it. It needs a gentle wash and iron then it’s done- I’ll photograph it later today.
I have enough embroidery materials to keep me going for years…… when I mentioned that I enjoyed doing it at the former sewing group I was inundated with people’s unwanted kits!
I do tend to do knitting or crocheting in the winter and sewing during the summer. I haven’t done any painting for a few weeks now.
Nothing much planned for today, I hope you all have a peaceful day 🌹

Good morning from Bristol. The forecast rain hasn’t arrived yet. Perhaps, I ought to plant the white hydrangea I bought yesterday. Depends if I’ve finished my many bits and pieces on the “to do” list.
Tuesdays are my days off,I usually bake for the Wednesday FAB, but I’ve got lots in the tins, so shan’t.
Do you watch any “Walter presents” on Ch 4? I’m watching a murder (they are mostly murders) mystery set in Ukraine but spills over to Poland and the Czech Republic. Very enjoyable.
I’ve got a church PCC meeting this evening and it’s my turn to say the opening prayers. The6 vary from the very worthy to the downright odd. Mine will be short as I hate doing that sort of stuff.
We shall be discussing the vexed hearing situation, boiler dead, one of the large generators stolen…. At least, the warmer weather is with us and we shan’t be needing much before next winter.
I hope today is kind to you all. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from Malta where a cloudy day is forecast with a high of 19°C. It poured with rain yesterday morning despite none being forecast and it felt a lot colder than predicted.

I had the boys after school so DD3 could get her shopping done. They were so sweet and very busy! I had cuddles with both of them before they were whisked off to their swimming lesson with their daddy.

I watched tennis until around 2am, or I should say the tennis was on but I dozed off on the sofa for most of it!

No particular plans today. Just drinking my tea in bed before I get up and decide what to do.

Hope you all have a good day.☀️

GillyMo Tue 24-Mar-26 05:52:03

Good morning from Kent where it is a bit breezy so feels cooler.

I'm feeling a bit achy today from looking after a toddler. I'll go to the gym later and stretch it out as that usually helps.

rosesandlilac I wish I could embroider but every time I have tried I get frustrated at not being able to thread the needle. I keep on knitting and crochet throughout the year as that satisfies my need for creativity.

Wishing all a positive day.

Good morning from Sheffield

It’s nice to wake up to a light sky now the days are a bit longer. I shall get up and go for an early walk.

I’m meeting my sister for a wander around our local mall this morning. No doubt buying things I don’t need. She is a serious shopper and a bad influence on me.

I have my volunteer session early evening and back just after 8. So will have time for a bit of a sit down before bed.

Take care everyone flowers

baubles Tue 24-Mar-26 06:14:50

Good morning from damp South Lanarkshire.

Charity shop shift this afternoon but I’m having my lashes tinted before I start. It’s one of the little things I now do for myself and helps me look less washed out.

Yarn group this evening, I haven’t been for a while as I haven't wanted to leave DH on his own after I’d already been out most of the day. He’s doing fine though so I’ll go back.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Morning Mick, morning All from a chilly, draughty corner of Somerset. Rain due from lunch time.

Yesterday’s plans worked well. We all enjoyed the sunshine. There was quite a bit of walking, we’ll decide on the shape of today over breakfast when I suspect the request swill be for something a bit less energetic as our friends have mobility limitations.

Best wishes to all. Have the best day you can everyone.

Gagagran Tue 24-Mar-26 06:28:33

Good Morning all from the central south coast where the sky is looking a bit ominous with no sign of the sun so far. It is early though so may turn up later.

I had an uncomfortable night with my shoulder refusing to be eased in any of the positions I tried, and which sometimes work. So I was up at 5 and it has taken until now to get some relief. I need to be in good form for my visit to see a choir friend this morning. She is in a similar situation to me with an arm problem. Suspect there will be a nap this afternoon!

Kind thoughts to all strugglers and hope today is easier with some comfort.

Grandmabatty Tue 24-Mar-26 06:31:23

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 9° and damp looking, although not actually raining at the moment. Roses I used to enjoy cross stitch but haven't done any for ages.
Yesterday dgs2 was thinking about being difficult in the morning but changed his mind. Both boys were deposited at school and I came home. I tidied the kitchen then swept the path and did a little lavender pruning. However it was very cold and windy and started to rain. I was pleased my poll card was delivered because I was getting anxious about it. Then I stewed apples. I have put them in the fridge, ready to make eve's pudding today. I went to do some work in the school library but it was being used so I could only do a little. I picked up the boys to hear dgs2 had been unkind to one of his wee friends. Dd was mortified but he has never misbehaved at nursery. Let's hope it was a one off! He continued to be a bit of a pain at my house, complaining loudly when things didn't go his way. I was glad when both boys were picked up.
Today I'll pick them up and bring them to my house for breakfast, their usual Tuesday routine. Then take them to school. I have a couple of bags in the boot to drop off at a charity shop, if I can be bothered. I'll do more pruning/weeding if it stays dry. Then get the boys again. Have a good day all.

Grandmabatty Tue 24-Mar-26 06:32:48

Safe journey Susan.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 24-Mar-26 06:34:32

Good morning from a grey and chilly S E Essex.

The Imp is still asleep, when he wakes I will be given his breakfast order, I guess it will be eggs cooked one way or the other. Get him to school for 8am, then pick him for swimming this afternoon.

I have the dental hygienist and dentist this morning, being dental phobic they are not something I am looking forward to.

baubles I also have my eyelashes tinted, worth every penny.

Georgesgran Tue 24-Mar-26 06:51:07

Good Morning from Durham. A grey start, rain forecast and feeling cooler than the actual temperature.
What a weird dream - I was pregnant by someone I’d been having an affair with - it seemed very real!
Yesterday’s coffee with my friend resulted in us booking a May week in Spain.

Despite uploading everything online, the Solicitor now needs to see an original document, so that’s my job for today. Otherwise, just at home. I really can’t put off starting on the loft much longer - so I might get the ladder down and do a visual assessment of what’s actually up there.

Hope our travellers have safe journeys and for others, that any medical/dental appointments go to plan.

Best wishes to all. X

Grammaretto Tue 24-Mar-26 06:59:35

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
I had a full night's sleep for the first time in ages. This murky cold weather must agree with me.

Yesterday I sorted my bills from BT/EE having discovered that 2 direct debits were going each time for 2 broadband contracts. I even got to speak to 2 humans who say they are going to reimburse me. wonders will never cease
Now to deal with my energy supplier for overpayment....

I also called the auction house to arrange for some of my big furniture to be removed as I am serious about my house sale.

I called on my recently bereaved friend and have invited her round this evening.

I went to my DGD school concert last night which was good but a bit lonely as I was the only family member there. Her mum was driving DS to the airport and my friend called off ill. We weren't allowed to take photos either. 😕

Today I have a podiatrist appointment.

Sending best wishes to all who are struggling.

karmalady Tue 24-Mar-26 07:01:19

Good morning from s somerset, dull skies and cooler today, we are on the slippery slope again. The past few days have been glorious

Roses I am very much looking forward to seeing that embroidery.

Grandmabatty eves pudding, oh yum, I often made that when the children were home

Dentist was fine yesterday, no return for another 6 months. My teeth are holding on for dear life

My car is now safely tucked in at home for the forseeable, my tank is full and I am intending to not use petrol, which I think will be on ration soon

I dragged my vintage Bernina back into service yesterday, needing to make replacement ballast bags. This time with duck canvas inside cordura, a couple of the last bags have started to rot, they were made from waxed canvas but had contact with soil. I have saved most of the grit, now drying in my garage.

Plenty of RnR today, it has been a busy few days

Ashcombe Tue 24-Mar-26 07:09:23

Good morning from a dull and overcast Torbay.

Our journey home went well as we were at Crewe Station by 8.00am which enabled us to be at Stafford Station in time to catch the 09.00 train which took us right through to Torquay, cutting out the need to change at Birmingham or Newton Abbot. A quick taxi ride brought us home by 1.30 pm.

Later we drove to the pound to finish emptying my poor car, following last week's accident when it was hit whilst parked outside my home. The assessor still hasn’t been which is frustrating as I can’t buy a replacement until we know whether or not it will be written off, although we shall start looking today.

We are booked to travel to France on Sunday but that will have to be cancelled, too. The car rental company won’t allow their car to be taken overseas in case my car is repaired in my absence. What a mess, none of which is of my making.

Sorry to sound miserable when others have more serious concerns. Thinking of those in worse situations.

Good morning from a bright and breezy W Kent. A quiet morning I hope and then a visit to a friend to catch up. We used to see each other weekly but age and her small grandchildren have put a stop to that. We shall enjoy a cup of tea together. I am thinking of starting another clear out, it must be Spring. This house is full of ornaments, the problem is so many of them are gifts from family and DFs. Just need to do it.
A chat to DD1 tonight, she is thinking about retiring, her job is stressful and taking its toll, we shall see
I should love to embroider but fingers won’t let me
Best wishes for a peaceful day

glammagran Tue 24-Mar-26 07:12:20

Good morning from overcast Wiltshire. Woken up by a U.S. Stratocaster going over at 6:25 but at least is was over an hour later than yesterdays planes. hmm I’m getting used to their different sounds; certain know the B1-Bs.

The kids were very good after school yesterday. DGS2 was very interested in tracking a military plane yesterday on a map and then as it approached our town we went outside to see it going over. The only blip was they insisted on using play dough and there was a fight over one particular colour pot. DGD3 delighted in telling us her brother had been “benched” in P.E. meaning he had to sit out participation for some misdemeanour.

Specsavers this morning as I cannot stand the new contact lenses I have. Chilli con Carne and rice for dinner.

Have a good day everyone.

dragonfly46 Tue 24-Mar-26 07:16:37

Good morning from a cloudy chilly Leicestershire.

We went out for coffee yesterday where we could it surrounded by daffodils overlooking the rolling hills and the sheep. It was very peaceful.
Today is more hectic as a trip to M & S is on the cards.
I thought the pain was easing but I seem now to have a trapped nerve!

Will go back and read your posts and wish you all the best day possible.

Ladyleftfieldlover Tue 24-Mar-26 07:24:52

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

I saw a podiatrist yesterday. In a very short time she dealt with my right big toenail so I won’t get an ingrowing toenail and removed the left big toenail! I will pop into our nearby town this morning and buy lotion which needs to be applied to the nail bed weekly,

Our cleaner should come today as she was unable to yesterday.

I will look through some WI admin I have been dealing with. I still look after the online data base. I’ve had to remove several people who’ve either died or moved away.

OH has a shooting club meeting tonight so it will be an early dinner. Something with cabbage I think. I love cabbage.

Have a good day.

Redcar Tue 24-Mar-26 07:29:07

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. We have high cloud this morning, but it looks quite bright, very mild anyway. Colder tomorrow!
I had a walk yesterday morning, then spent ages on the computer with admin tasks. I really need to sort out what to do with some of the stuff I brought home from my godmother’s bungalow. I don’t think either of my DDs will want any of it, so it will probably go to the charity shop.

marydoll what a terrible shock to discover that a “friend” has been hiding such an awful secret.

roses I’m pleased that your DH pruned the rose bush and that you didn’t have to struggle with it.

gagagran I hope your shoulder pain eases soon.

I hope all those with illness or worries find some improvement soon.

Have a good Tuesday everyone.

Greyduster Tue 24-Mar-26 07:32:39

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a grey, cool South Yorkshire where rain is forecast.

I washed and polished my car yesterday morning while the sun wasn’t on it, and cut the front lawn in the afternoon while the grass was dry. It won’t be for the rest of the week. I finished off my afternoon with a walk down to the supermarket to buy celery as I plan to make soup today and then settled down to watch a programme on iPlayer, The Birds. It was filmed on the North Norfolk coast, which I love, and was the most beautiful, dramatic, mesmerising piece of documentary filming I’ve seen in a long time.

School volunteering this afternoon.

Have the best day you can, folks.

monk08 Tue 24-Mar-26 07:35:27

Good morning all from a dull Black country.
Roofers are due today to replace the garage roof, typically the weather has changed hopefully it will remain dry.
Will eat out later once they have left we have yet another voucher.
Best wishes for anyone celebrating, safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed.
Have the best day you can ☀️.

BlueSapphire Tue 24-Mar-26 07:40:48

Good morning everyone from an overcast Northampton, showers are forecast later.

Had a good day yesterday; back to yoga in the morning which gave me a good stretch, then to the little cafe round the corner for coffee.
Then home where I found a pile of post awaiting me, including the new cruise brochure for next year, 2027. I was tempted and booked a Canaries cruise for next April, which had a
good discount!

Did a quick load of washing which I hung out, had lunch, then it was round to my neighbours for coffee and cake for the three of us. We put the world to rights for a couple of hours!

Back home I spent a good hour still putting stuff away from my holiday, and general tidying/sorting.

Later this morning DD is coming to take me to my first cataract appointment - this is where I have all the pre-surgery tests and examination, and discuss what lens I will need.
I have promised DD lunch out afterwards!

Hope everyone has a good day.
