Good morning from Malta where the forecast is for hail showers, a high of 10°C and a low of 3°C! I might have to wear a coat for the first time in ages! 🥶

Spent all yesterday anxious about DS and his partner doing their long drive but they were very good about updating me and sending photos. They are currently on a ferry heading for Greece.

DD3 came over and had enjoyed her break in Florence. She borrowed a big suitcase as they are all off to Bologna today. I have a new lodger, Milo dog who is being very good and is curled up on my bed beside me.

Roses was also on my mind yesterday. I’m so sorry you’re having to go through this and can only hope the treatment will help.🙏🏻

Not sure what today will bring. Definitely a walk with Milo if we can find a break in the weather. I walked to the shop yesterday and nearly got blown away it was so windy.

Wishing you all a good day, hugs to all who need one.🐇🐇🐇

Good morning, it’s dry and quiet here on my hillside in south Glos.
I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone on here, for your thoughts and good wishes. You truly have no idea how comforting they are.
Well, it’s as I thought, I need to have a PET scan (2-3 weeks time) then biopsies (2-3 weeks after) , referral to oncology and as surgery isn’t an option it will be probably immunotherapy/chemotherapy. It won’t be curative.
I feel weirdly accepting of what comes next, the consultant was lovely and perhaps it hasn’t actually hit me yet? I don’t know but I am fine at the moment.
I drove to the hospital, beautiful views from the top of the hill before you turn off, right across to Blorenge in Abergavenny and the Black mountains. I might go to the car park near there soon and just sit and take in the view.
Little else done yesterday, I need to have a good tidy up today before DS and his family comes tomorrow, so looking forward to seeing them again.
Many thanks again and love to you all x
🌹

White rabbits 🐇🐇🐇
Good morning from Bristol.
It’s so kinda of your DS to keep you updated so frequently, bellas and enjoy Milo. Sorry about the weather. It’s not looking amazing for today
We had a glorious and warm day yesterday, despite the gloomy forecast. I did some “gardening”.
My main job yesterday was baking for the FAB cafe’s now monthly live concert of 60s music. The vicar doesn’t think we’ll be as busy. That’s a bit of a nuisance as I baked: GF cookies, chocolate biscuits, ginger cake, flapjacks, brownies, date loaf and fruit cake. Fortunately, most of it will keep.
I didn’t sleep well last night, still bothered by the clock change, I loathe the jet lag it gives me.
The hairdresser cam3 in the afternoon. As we were discussing future date, my neighbour who had just left rang the doorbell. A fire alarm was ringing and she was concerned. I tried listening for which of the up/downstairs flat was affected. I decided to try downstairs. The lovely old chap had set it off and had no idea how to silence it. I got a chair, stood on it and switched it off…. Job done.
Today, FAB cafe, then in the afternoon, a WI committee meeting regarding the closure of the institute. The federation is doin* it correctly and legally, the rest of the committee thinks they are being vindictive and making problems…
Hop3 everyone has a good day, that roses min£ had been out at rest.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩🌷🌺🌸

roses, sorry about your diagnosis, but glad about your serenity regarding it. Lots of prayers and thought winging your way.❤️🫂

Good morning from the NE, just starting to get light.
DS arrived yesterday afternoon and set up his work station in the study, he just had time for a coffee and snack before online meetings.
At 5.30 we went to do the shopping, I did manage to get all I needed except there were a lot of shelves completely empty. Strangely there was not one pepper to be had.
SIL offered to come today if I didn't manage to get everything I needed but I told him to rest up after his day of travelling. DD travels to the UK today and they have a few busy days ahead of them.
Have a pleasant day everyone.
Roses 💐

Good morning from Staffordshire. It feels warmer today and thankfully the wind has dropped.

Roses I am so sorry to hear your diagnosis.Sending you love and keeping you in my prayers.

Wishing everyone the best day possible 🦩🌻

WhiteSwan63 Wed 01-Apr-26 06:39:40

Good morning from the east coast and I’m hoping for another mild day like yesterday it was lovely.

Roses my thoughts are with you today as you come to terms with your diagnosis*💐

I am up early as I need to be at my son’s house for 8 so he can go to work. I will wait for my DGS to wake up which could be 9-30. He doesn’t like getting up early. We will do our same routine 2 parks and the shop where I will buy fruit and he will blend it, measure it into three cups and then it goes down the sink. He knows exactly which fruit he wants and does the self checkout. Yesterday it was a pineapple, one kiwi and a punnet of strawberries. Only he knows why he’s doing it. It’s his latest phase. 🤷‍♀️ We just have to go with it.
I want to hide his chocolate eggs in the garden for later as he isn’t with us on Sunday for our big family day and don’t want him to miss out. He never touches chocolate but likes the hunt. The eggs will go in our junk food basket. I’ll wait to get a bit more daylight. DS will then pick him up at lunchtime for their afternoon strict routine. I’ll do DS a sausage and egg sandwich when he comes.

Wishing you all a day with moments of joy 🌼x

Good morning all from a greyish North Leicestershire.

Our lovely, hard working gardener us due today. Much needed.

Yesterday's choir session followed by tea and cake and a catch up was great.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Grandmabatty Wed 01-Apr-26 07:00:25

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 9° and dry but cloudy. Roses I'm sorry to hear that what you thought, has proved true. I wish you strength.
WhiteSwan my dgs2 loves cutting up fruit and making fruit salad. He gives it to his mum or me as he wouldn't eat it.
GrandMattie what a prodigious amount of baking!
Yesterday was quiet, as expected. The boys were very good. Dgs1 is developing a very dry sense of humour which i share. Dgs2 spent ages drawing and colouring in again. After I dropped them off, I didn't do much, just pottered.
Today it is a year since mum died. We didn't have a great relationship but I do miss her. I will do some work in the school, then phone the garage to arrange for the car to go in tomorrow. There's a small flaw in the paintwork which needs sorted. They pointed it out to me when I bought the car. Then im visiting the partner of my best friend who died 3 years ago. I havent seen him for some time. After that, I have a parcel to collect at Next. I bought the boys clothes for easter. This afternoon I will potter about. Have a good day all

cornergran Wed 01-Apr-26 07:01:45

Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset is dark and dry, the day ahead forecast to be dry

Yesterday was bitty, frustrating and one of the days with a sense of achieving nothing. As I forgot to process the laundry I’d best do that today, also need to reduce the dust level and tackle some admin. Theres little energy though.

roses go gently as you come to terms with your diagnosis , I know the car park you refer to and the views are indeed wonderful. I’ll be thinking of you.

You accomplished such a lot yesterday grandmattie you put me to shame. Must try harder here.

Best wishes to everyone.

Melanie61 Wed 01-Apr-26 07:04:52

Good morning from Sheffield

Roses you are being very braveflowers

I am feeling marginally better today so I will do the packing for a few days away.

We are going to East Yorkshire . It’s really pretty and not many people there.
We stay in a cottage in the middle of nowhere but there is a railway station to take us to York, Hull, Cleethorpes.
We go to Beverley which has a brilliant ice cream shop. Last time we were there we did a roof top tour of the minster. It was fascinating
Looking forward to the peace and quiet

Take care everyone flowers

karmalady Wed 01-Apr-26 07:08:01

Good morning from s somerset, cloudy all day, breezy and not too cold

Roses you are courageous and your inner strength shines through

I did go to the allotment yesterday, did a lot of work and actually finished hardening the shed ceiling, which feels very much stronger. I was very tired by evening and in bed by 9.30

Today I am going to tidy up the mess I brought home and will need a quick tip trip to get rid of empty cans that are making my garage stink of solvent

Soyabeans are soaking ready to make tofu this evening and I will be making a sd loaf after lunch, ready for the overnight rest in the fridge and will bake that tomorrow.

Gagagran Wed 01-Apr-26 07:13:55

Good Morning all from a cloudy central south coast. It's not as cold but there is no sun in the forecast all day.

Your calm acceptance and stoicism is a lesson for us all Roses. I hope to emulate your example if the need arises for me or my loved ones. May the road ahead be less difficult for you and yours now you know the route. flowers

Our cleaners are due shortly and DH is going out with his cycle club for a day on the South Downs. I need to spend some time with the difficult music for tonight's choir rehearsal. I fear it may be a bit beyond me but I will try harder to master it and not just wing it!

Thinking of our GNs with worries, sadness or struggles and hope for a better day for all. sunshine

Sar53 Wed 01-Apr-26 07:14:33

Good morning from the Essex coast. Another grey day but marginally warmer than of late.
I've woken up sneezing and coughing, I hope it doesn't develop into a cold.
I shall drop DH off at the hospital at midday and then go and do some food shopping. I think it will be early evening before he is allowed to come home. Fingers crossed 🤞 all goes well.
Big hugs to Roses.
Take care everyone, best wishes to all xx

Ashcombe Wed 01-Apr-26 07:25:08

Good morning from Torbay where we have a cloudy but pretty sky and a warm day is forecast again.

You are showing admirable serenity in the face of your diagnosis, RosesandLilac. I hope you will continue to have strength but that you have a friend or family member when needed.

Wednesday Club this afternoon will be a discussion about our favourite plays - not sure I have one as it tends to be the one I’m watching at the time! I do like the challenge of a Shakespeare, especially if I’m lucky enough to have a part in it!

Wishing everyone a happy hump day. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Wed 01-Apr-26 07:29:53

Good morning everyone from south Manchester. I cannot believe we are in April already these weeks are flying by. It’s dry here and 13°C is the forecast here today.

RosesandLilac you sound calm and pragmatic about your diagnosis. I imagine your consultant has given you hope, Incurable doesn’t mean untreatable as Professor Mansoor told my husband at his initial consultation. I wish you every success with your own treatment pathway.

I have yoga at the library this morning it’s a bit more challenging than the chair yoga but just as enjoyable. A friend meets me in there for this session then we have coffee together next door to the library at Starbucks. I have to smile when we go in - so many of us ladies in there with our rolled up yoga mats!

This evening I shall be getting picked up to watch L’il Miss at her swimming lesson. She will be joyous as her school will have closed this afternoon for the Easter break.

Redcar Wed 01-Apr-26 07:31:02

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. It’s grey again. Yesterday morning was cloudy, I walked to the local shops to get some cash. Did half an hours weeding later, some progress against the battle with a variety of weeds!
Visited my dementia friend, who was quiet and sleepy. DD2 will be working here all day while her mil looks after the 8 year old and 3 year old!

roses sorry to hear your news, I am in awe of your bravery and acceptance of the situation.

melanie I hope you have an enjoyable break away.

bellasnana a marathon journey for your DS and his partner!
Your weather sounds worse than ours! I hope it warms up soon for all of us!

grandmattie I hope the Fab music cafe is well attended and fun today. You were really busy yesterday baking all those goodies I hope you don’t have too many leftovers!

Thinking of all those who are struggling with life’s challenges at the moment and hoping that there is some improvement soon.

Have the best day possible - April already!

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Wed 01-Apr-26 07:37:14

Perhaps your vicar is thinking grandparents might be meeting up with their families as it’s the school holidays Easter break grandMattie? 🤷‍♀️

Jaxjacky Wed 01-Apr-26 07:42:18

Morning from a dull S Hants after the sunshine yesterday.
Roses I’m sorry your expectation was correct, your inner strength will I hope sustain you through the months ahead x
Best wishes to your husband today Sar.
We met a friend for coffee yesterday, sat outside in a pub garden, so few places have chairs with arms, needed by me at the moment to lever up. It was warm in the sun, a pleasant hour or so.
When we came back a gold envelope was sticking out of our post box, marketing tat I said to MrJ, nope, a four figure postcode lottery win!
Today another friend visit, probably indoors, catching up with people at last.
Have a pleasant day if you can, gentle at least.
🦩🦩

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Wed 01-Apr-26 07:46:29

melanie61 the train we got on yesterday was going on to Cleethorpes from Oxford Road, where we alighted. One day perhaps I should just stay on the train, or maybe go as far as York anyway. I intend to use the train from over the road more frequently this summer 🤞

Marydoll Wed 01-Apr-26 07:48:58

Good morning all from Glasgow, where it is 8°C,

I am another, who had Roses on my mind yesterday, You are a very brave lady, 💗

GH, you must have been exhausted, after all that baking, Are there no other parishioners, who could lighten your load?

I took DIL to Silverburn yesterday. I wasn't feeling too good, but didn't want to let her down. She still can't get comfortable clothes to fit, because she is so tiny.
We were in Tesco, when I found her in the clothes section, crying. She was in agony and has been for days. There is a problem with her wound.
She phoned the District nurse for help, then I took her home.
Later she messaged to say a nurse had dropped off a prescription for antibiotics.
She also needs cream for her wound, as it is not healing the way it should.

I was so glad to get home, DH had to empty the food shopping, my fatigue was awful, Today, I'm staying away from Church and avoiding people, I am so fatigued,
However, it is shool run day. It never ends.

Wishing you all a pleasant day and best wishes for all, who are struggling.

Marzipan22 Wed 01-Apr-26 07:49:38

Good morning from a bright, calm Cornwall where I can see leaves emerging on the trees lining our street. Yesterday I saw lots of rhododendron and camellia bushes on my travels, heavy with flowers. The rhododendron line some country roads and make a dark tunnel, quite spooky really and I always think of the first chapter of Rebecca when I see them.

I came home on the bus from a mid-county town where I'd bought some Bluetooth headphones, listening to my library book all the way. I felt like a student. 😄

Today I'm at my new church home group for lunch and a study. I only know one of the ten people and am gradually learning about them and their families. They're very friendly.

Roses, thinking of you. I'm glad you'll have more company soon. Your mention of Abergavenny reminded me of when I fled my marriage and my home 20 years ago. I jumped on the first train that came along and got off at Abergavenny and stayed in a pub there to give myself thinking time. I seem to remember climbing Sugar Loaf Mountain and being so proud when I reached the top, though it's not an arduous climb! I still remember the views.

ginny Wed 01-Apr-26 07:51:59

Good morning everyone.
Roses 💐
I’m off to a WI craft day with a few other members. I am driving so hope my sat. nav. does its job.
Actual WI monthly meeting this evening.wishing all a good day with a smile along the way.

brook2704 Wed 01-Apr-26 07:52:55

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s grey and cloudy, feels a bit colder too
So sorry to hear about your diagnosis roses I hope your treatment progresses well
It’s a busy day today with a couple of classes at the gym, coffee with friends and later the bus home. Out this evening too at a dance class - all enjoyable though. Somewhere along the way I must get on with some housework
Grandmabatty I can understand how you feel, a similar situation here 💐
Hoping all goes well today Sar
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings
