Good morning from Staffordshire.A day of sunshine and showers forecast.

We head home later today after our week of pet sitting. It has been a relaxing week and just what we needed.Once we know DD2 and family are a couple of hours away we will head off and then meet up with them at DD1’s on Sunday.

Thinking of Pantglas and other absent friends.Thinking of all struggling and wishing everyone a good day🌻🦩

Good morning from Malta where another day of unsettled weather is forecast with a high of 14°C.

I completely forgot I had a hair appointment for a colour yesterday but my hairdresser sent me a reminder just in time for me to make it.

The wind was very strong again so I didn’t stay out long, just a quick pop to the pharmacy and to the drive-through ATM.

Heard from DD3 and had lots of photos of the boys who are having a whale of a time. They loved the dinosaur theme park and are enjoying Italian food!

It is Good Friday today and there are usually processions held depicting Christ’s Passion but I’m wondering how the inclement weather will affect these. An annual charity walk had to be cancelled yesterday as it was too wet and windy.

I have so many jobs that need doing but I need the sun for motivation so everything is going to have to wait until next week when we are promised a return to good weather.

Wishing a good day to you all.☀️

Good morning from Bristol. We had a glorious, if windy, day yesterday. It has rained in the night as the road is wet.
Yesterday, I did go into town to get DGD’s earrings, but met one of my friends, a lay preacher, on the us. As she was early for her Maundy Thursday servic3 at the cathedral, we stopped for a coffee and chat.
I had a successful morning, got all the things I needed, including some chicken wings which always remind me of my Philip.
I stopped half way home, to the optician for my new glasses. They still slip off my face, so I shall have to go in again this morning for adjustment.
Once home, I washed the fabric for my quilt - I went in for Green but came back with some gorgeous blues (my favourite colour). I’m planning on making patchwork hearts ♥️.
I always wash fabric before using it. On my way back from the line, I saw a little parcel propped outside my front door. As I wasn’t expecting anything, it was rather puzzling. When I opened it, I found it was handmade chocolates from our local financial advisor. The boss man is one of the volunteers at the FAB cafe, is incredibly generous with his time, offering free advice every week, sponsors all sorts of things, including our live music/singing, etc. I was in tears at their kindness.
The rest of the day was quiet, dinner was Buffalo wings, then I went to church for the service. I had my feet washed in (very) cold water before coming home.
A rubbish ight, but quiet day forthcoming.
Lost of love to our missing posters, our sad and poorly friends and everyone else too.
Carpe diem ❤️🌷🦩🦩🌺🦩🦩☀️

Good morning from s somerset, cloudy, some light rain

Yesterday came and went and I am just waiting for my organic delivery, it always arrives early. I paid for my house insurance and made an appointment for an eye test, I definitely need another prescription for new varifocals. Water bill was paid yesterday and the new higher council tax bill is paid next week. It is going out faster than it comes in but paypal gave me an instant refund, a company took my money but did not provide

Today I will get my things ready, to paint my allotment shed next week, they will stop in the garage for now

No plan for today and a good day to stay off the roads, they will be busy with holiday traffic

Sar53 Fri 03-Apr-26 06:52:59

Good morning from a cloudy Essex coast but i believe it is due to get warmer later.
As DH has blurred vision out of his operated on eye, it falls to me to be designated driver until he can see properly again.
Not my most favourite thing to do but needs must.
I'm not sure what today brings but probably coffee will feature at some stage.
Love to anyone with mountains to climb and I hope you all have a pleasant Good Friday xx

Good morning from Wressle

I always feel sad on Good Friday.

Well the weather was beautiful yesterday hoping for another of the same today.

Not sure what we will do today, I’m still not 100%. We will probably go to Beverley, that ice cream will soothe my throat

Take care everyone flowers

Good morning from a windy N. Bucks.
We have had a busy week so are looking forward to a quiet weekend. Family are all away in different places so we will just see how it goes
One job we now have to sort is our travel insurance. We took it out with the travel company but because I am still waiting for my eye results they won’t cover me. I’m sure we’ll find something but wonder about the cost. I’ve now been waiting 5 weeks for the results and have been told it will be at least 2 more weeks. We go away next Friday. No doubt the results will be fine and will suddenly turn up once we have rearranged it all.
Wishing you a Good Friday ( see what I did there?)

grandMattie Fri 03-Apr-26 07:05:51

Oh, Melanie, me too. Since becoming the mother of sons, I find it unbearable and can’t go to the services. Now more so, since my son died.

Ashcombe Fri 03-Apr-26 07:06:03

Good morning from a breezy, dull Torbay.

It’s been several days since Pantglas posted so I hope all is well. She has an elderly father who had been causing concern.

Yesterday, I returned to my previous church to attend the leaving presentation for the Pre School Manager. She was delighted and still looked as young and vibrant as ever. In the past she has run in the London Marathon.

My insurance company has notified me that my car is to be written off following the accident while it was parked last month. Today we hope to look for a replacement. I’m considering leasing as an option, possibly a Ford Puma.

I remember the processions, Bellasnana when I happened to be in Spain during Holy Week.
Those chocolates were well deserved, grandMattie!

A blessed Good Friday to you all. 🦩🥰✝️💐🦩

Good morning from South Lanarkshire where, oh look, it’s raining again. We did have a lovely sunny day for most of yesterday though so thank heaven for small mercies.

Yesterday we visited a small National Trust garden which apparently has over five hundred varieties of daffodils, I didn’t spot that many. smile

My sister is going home today, I’ll see her on to the London train from Edinburgh this afternoon.

Thinking of all those with troubles to bear.

Grandmabatty Fri 03-Apr-26 07:19:24

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 7° and dry at the moment, although it has been raining and set to rain again. GrandMattie what a lovely surprise. Well deserved too. Ash its such a nuisance for you but I suppose you can have the pleasure of a new car. My new car does everything for me. It's quite a luxury.
Yesterday ended up as a non day. I felt somewhat unwell and spent most of the day lying down. So all the things I was going to do yesterday, I will do today, hopefully.
So today will be cleaning and washings done. Then setting the dinner table for Sunday lunch. Have a good day all.

Grammaretto Fri 03-Apr-26 07:19:29

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
No frost but feels chilly.

Yesterday was white with frost until 9am and then the sun came out.
Our walk was good as we joked about needing sun screen and shorts.

The nearest I came to church was coffee at Rosslyn Chapel café. Here's a view of the roof.

In the afternoon one interested party came for a second viewing of my house and the ladies who had made pottery came to collect it.

Unfortunately my little old car has badly failed its MOT so I am not sure what to do about that.
Work in the community café this morning and house things this afternoon. A friend for dinner tonight.

I hope all those struggling have a better day.
Thinking of you Marydoll and Roses

May Good Friday be just that.

kittylester Fri 03-Apr-26 07:22:13

Good morning all from a damp North Leicestershire.

I need to do a quick top up Waitrose shop this morning and then will sit down for while before we need to set off for DD's house in Derby for a meal.

At some stage I need to check with my friend and neighbour who phoned at 11 pm last night. I was asleep and didn't get to the phone. I called her back and she didn't reply.

Have the best day possible everyone.

harrigran Fri 03-Apr-26 07:30:32

Good morning from a dry and windy NE where the sun is just starting to shine.
Yesterday was a wasted day, felt poorly all day and kept falling asleep on the sofa.
It was sunny all day but still quite chilly.
Nothing planned for today.
Thoughts are with poorly people.
Have the best day you can.

Redcar Fri 03-Apr-26 07:35:11

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. It’s cloudy and 9 degrees at the moment, who knows what the weather will do today. Yesterday was cold and cloudy in the morning, but the sun came out and we had a lovely afternoon. The sun is beginning to feel warm now.
A walk in the morning then cleaned the kitchen ready for the hairdresser in the afternoon. My hair looked lovely when she’d finished, not sure how long for, I’m useless at doing my own hair!
Nothing planned for today, but plenty to do indoors and outdoors if the weather and my back allow it.

Good luck with your hunt for a new car ash. DD2 and her partner lease their cars and it seems to work for them. They have a Ford Puma, it’s not much bigger than a Fiesta.

I hope you can sort out your travel insurance soon ginny and that it doesn’t cost too much!
Safe and trouble free travel to all those on the move today.

Thinking of all those with mountains to climb and hope that life becomes a little easier for you.

Have as good a day as possible everyone.

RosesandLilac Fri 03-Apr-26 07:36:33

Good morning, it’s drizzling here on my hillside in south Glos and I’m snug in my airbed in my craft room while the DGCs watch tv in my bed.
We had a lovely chatty time when they arrived yesterday, catching up with all their news.
Both boys are very sporty, cycling, running, swimming and now cricket. They’ve both qualified for the TCS Mini Marathon this year, a great opportunity to do something special.
I don’t know what plans they have today, I have given them a big pile of art materials that I don’t need so probably something arty?
I hope you all have a good day, my thoughts are with those who are sad or struggling 🤗🌹

Good Morning all from a damp central south coast. It is 8 degrees on the garden thermometer so thankfully a bit warmer and the fresh breeze has disappeared for now. Living near the sea it often pops up unannounced.

We had a long catch up chat with DD yesterday and heard all about their adventure holiday to Ecuador, which was a great success. Yes, they do eat roast guinea pig there, but as a pescatarian she did not partake! Then DGS popped on screen and announced that he was planning to call in to see us on Saturday afternoon as he is coming over to see his old chums from his former village, next to ours, for a night out. They are all back from university for the Easter break.

I too find Good Friday very sad and even woke in the night with the words of "There is a Green hill Far away" going through my mind. To my surprise I still knew all the words for the whole hymn. For years I thought "without a city wall" meant it didn't have one, not realising that it actually meant outside the city wall.

I have a Tesco delivery coming this morning but not much else on the agenda. I must spend more time on my choir music though. It is really a bit too hard for me but I know I can master it with some concentrated application.

So sad to hear of Soop being so poorly and am sending caring thoughts and hopes for some ease and comfort for her and her dear Mr Soop. Also, as always, to all our Grans with struggles, pain or sadness in their lives.

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 03-Apr-26 07:40:54

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

I am lying in bed listening to very noisy planes coming from Fairford. I assume we’re in range of any retaliation.

Yesterday’s lunch out was good, using the voucher our daughter gave us for Christmas. We de-flea’d the cats on our return and I finished the Simnel cake.

Today will be mainly a laundry day while OH checks on his bees.

Have a good day, especially those of you going through difficult times.

Greyduster Fri 03-Apr-26 07:42:09

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where it is overcast and breezy. Yesterday was glorious. The sun filtering through the trees and lighting up the paths lifted the spirits. There were banks of celandines and even a few early bluebells. I had lunch with DD who was making last minute preparations for what looks like being a very wet excursion up Pen-y-Ghent today.

I shall do some baking today and everything else will be weather dependent.

Have the best day you can folks.

brook2704 Fri 03-Apr-26 07:44:50

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s dry with light grey clouds, just slightly warmer than yesterday
Hope you both feel a bit better today harrigran and grandmabatty
I’m off to the gym today for the usual Friday classes then going out this evening with a small group of friends I’ve known for a while. Hopefully not too late a night!
Safe travels to everyone travelling over the weekend and meeting up with family and friends
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Fri 03-Apr-26 07:46:01

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it is dry and 12°C is forecast. The little family are just setting off to York for two nights to kick start their Easter break and have tickets for the Jorvik Viking Centre today. They are back Sunday afternoon.

I plan to go and see my stepfather this afternoon. I have a small bag of groceries he asked for and I’ll get the bus over at 2pm. We plan an hour or so with a convivial malt together, then fish and chips for me when I get home from the chippy below.

Cossy Fri 03-Apr-26 07:48:38

Good morning from Essex, grey and dull! About to out kettle on to welcome back DH after his early dog walk.

Happier Easter 🐥🐇

Morning from a wet S Hants, the sun from yesterday long gone. I got out yesterday tea time to our local, first time since December, it was lovely seeing and chatting to people again, quite buoyed me up.
At least you know now Ash and can make a car decision.
I hope Tesco have all my order for later, thus avoiding the need to possibly backfill, roads will be busy today.
Have a pleasant day all.
