Good morning from Shropshire.Another sunny day forecast.

Another day at home today which suits me.DH will go to his exercise class.

A beautiful jumper grandMattie.I remember mum knitted me a fair isle sweater when I was about 8.I was so proud of that jumper!

Thinking of Pantglas and hoping all is ok and wishing everyone a good day🦩🌻

Good Morning all from a lovely sunny morning on the central south coast. Looks set for a perfect spring day. I still think it is too soon to plant bedding plants though as it still gets very chilly at night.

I was very pleased this morning to see that the intrepid astronauts are on their way back to earth. I cannot fathom how they can be so calm and focused and trusting that it will all go to plan. I don't like small spaces or heights so would never be accepted as a trainee astronaut. Well, being 82 might also curtail that!

We have some financial stuff to sort out today. My role is to hear DH tell me what he suggests, think about it and either say yea or nay. It works for us and he has the soul and brain of an accountant so has always steered us right. I am closely involved as the green light presser and take my role seriously.

I ordered a dining chair with adjustable height yesterday as I need to be well above the table top to be able to use my fork in my left hand. Although my arm has improved, it is still painful in certain positions and is much easier over rather than level or below the table. Hope it works.

Kind thoughts as always to all our GNs with worries or struggles and hope that the day brings some comfort and ease. sunshine

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where Alexa tells me it’s going to be sunny all day with a high of 19°C. Lovely.

I’m meeting a friend for coffee late morning in the square below and this afternoon L’il Miss is coming over for 3 hours as her teacher mummy (off for Easter fortnight at present) is having highlights and a cut.

I fancy some fresh smoked haddock with mushrooms for my tea (6 minutes fried in butter on the hob - my kind of cooking!) so I’ll pop into the larder for some later.

Morning from a bright S Hants, forecast warm later, we shall get out for a river walk. It was delightful yesterday hearing children playing out in our road, some started off in their pyjamas!
A long phone chat with friends who had a brief trip away in their new to them camper van, they have dogs, so it’s ideal.
Clever gMattie I like that.

Good morning from a very sunny Suffolk so we are planning to leave shortly for a dog walk on the beach at Dunwich and breakfast in the beach cafe.

It will get very busy later and last summer we saw an occasional coach party there at lunch time. Luckily,as Gingster will know, there is a huge car park.

I hope all can enjoy the warmth of the sun today however you are spending it.

Good morning from a dry and sunny NE.
Yesterday was spent in the study, I had to go online and gather information about my bank accounts to do a tax return. I haven't had to do one for ten years and now I an decrepit they are saying I should do it online 🙄
DD and SIL are taking me shopping at lunchtime and then we are going to a castle for afternoon tea with DS and family.
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning from a beautiful day on the east coast. We had an early sea mist but it’s burnt back and it’s frosty too.
It’s been a lovely Easter finished off yesterday with a gathering at my DSs. He and his partner did a very well hosted little party. We met his partner’s family who are all very friendly. They are very proud of their house and have every right to be. We were advising them on their garden and she was showing us wallpaper samples.

Today I’m with mum and we are visiting my Uncle. Hoping him and his girlfriend have been behaving themselves this Easter. Mum has had no calls so that’s a bonus. I’m sure we’ll be called into the office as usual.

Wishing everyone a lovely day with moments of joy🌼 and sunshine🌞

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 3° and bright. I'm looking forward to the warm temperatures today.
Yesterday I had a lovely catch up with a friend. We blethered for ages and she paid for coffee and cake too, which was very nice of her.
I had a rotten night's sleep. I was up at half past one, drinking tea and watching a documentary about a Scottish artist. The rest of the night was fitful, hence the late arrival here. So, just up and drinking coffee. Today will be pottering about, mainly in the garden to make the most of the weather. Have a good day all

My apologies Mattie, I meant to comment on your photo. Your jumper is beautiful- a real work of art.

Good morning from South Lanarkshire where it’s dry and bright.

We had a good day yesterday with DGD2, she and I went to Mass then she helped me and the other counter sort out the collections from the weekend. She was rewarded with an Easter egg from the supply the parish had bought for the children.

Before I went to sleep I was saddened to read, on the thread she started, of the death of a dearly loved gransnetter soop. I first met her at what I think was the second ever GN meet up perhaps fourteen years ago, a kinder person you would not come across. RIP soop.

Have the best day possible everyone.

harrigran Tue 07-Apr-26 08:22:30

I too just saw the news on soop's kitchen.
We met up in 2012 in Aberdour * baubles*. A wonderful meet up.

karmalady good to read someone else finding rebounding useful. I do rebounding but just on the ground - not on any equipment. I start off by keeping my feet on the ground and just bouncing my heels up and down. I used to skip on the spot with a rope but am a bit too heavy for that at the moment and get out of breath very quickly.

Marydoll Tue 07-Apr-26 08:26:25

Good morning, from Glasgow.

I wasn't going round post this morning, I had the most dreadful night and didn't want to moan.
However, I have just read about Soop. I met Soop and John at a GN meet up in Edinburgh. There was great hilarity, when we gate crashed a bank retirees' Christmas party.
I even got a kiss from Santa!

RIP Soop.♥️

Good morning from a bright, sunny Durham. We are forecast up to 18 later.
Yes, sad news from ‘the kitchen’ yesterday.
I’m fed up with this virus - just when I think it’s going, it kicks off again. I didn’t bother getting dressed yesterday, or set foot outdoors, cancelling my usual Monday coffee date. That friend has asked me over for coffee today. I’ll see how I feel later - the coughing can be non-stop!

Best wishes to all. X

Yes I remember that day Harri. I still have the photo bookmark somewhere.

Good morning all. Bright and sunny here in Essex. Not sure how cold/warm it is. .

Yesterday took little pooch on a long walk which was uphill on the way back . Phew!,.
It’s gradually impinging on me how inconvenient it is not to be able to drive my car. 😢. I don’t drive far but spontaneity has gone and travel times need to be taken.

Today I have an eye test to get a second opinion . I fear it will be the same disappointing outcome.
With both of us unable to drive, life will be rather different.

I suppose I’ll get used to it.

After my eye test , I’ll get a coffee and snack to pass the time until I’m scooped up by my friend who will take me to Bridge club. Friends are very kind but I hate being dependent.

It’s not worth me coming home and then walking back up to town an hour later. I don’t like leaving Dh for so long, but he says he’ll be fine, has his phone and alarm bracelet. 🙏.

DS2 and family have had a lovely few days at our seaside cottage, weather beautiful and walks along the beach. Meals at their favourite different places. We’ll all miss it.

Hoping you all have a ‘good’ day. 🌺

I had a private message conversation with Soop a few years ago when I think it was her son had released a book. She was so friendly to chat too. She will be greatly missed on GN. ♥️

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Carlisle.
I have just returned from a walk in the park, especially enjoyed today with the sun shining and the birds singing away.
Yesterday turned out well weather-wise too. I went out planting in the garden and got really warm, finishing by sitting outdoors with coffee and my book.
Today I'll finish off the vacuuming and laundry then I'm thinking of digging out my summer clothes. I put my summer weight duvet on the bed yesterday and was quite warm enough during the night.
The kitchen freezer needs defrosting too, maybe today, maybe not!
A lovely sweater grandMattie. I was reminded of my late, dear MiL who could knit fair isle too. I really like the colour combination.

Last night I too read of soop's passing. Not unexpected but very sad, the end of an era. Poor, bereft MrSoop, I feel for him.

Grammaretto Tue 07-Apr-26 08:58:55

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. The sun is up and washing hung outside.

I had both DGD yesterday which was both lovely and exhausting.

I bought them Lego sets which they completed but a friend had told me about a "borrow an instrument" scheme being launched at the library.

Only one DGD wanted to go so after lunch and a squabble, I took the little one to other DGM who was enjoying an afternoon nap, and I took the older one who was the star pupil, trying everything from tenor horn to ukulele with expert tuition.

Then she wanted to go to the swing park. This is the same child who had her appendix out last week.

The pair then made pottery and ran around my garden foraging for wild garlic and sticky willy to make pesto and herb tea!

Today I m meeting another DGD at an art gallery. I may sleep on the bus and take my knitting.

Your Fairisle sweater is amazingGM . There is no end to your talents.

Hope the fair weather holds and everyone has something nice to look forward to today.

Good Morning from a sunny Co Armagh, it’s a bit warmer out , I had to go to the bin , that’s how I know !
I had a decent sleep but turned over to see the clock and the pain in my hip woke me up properly , looks like something is going on with my 8 yr old hip replacement,
My daughter is due home today after a wet windy stay in their caravan
Have as good a day as possible folks

aggie Tue 07-Apr-26 09:02:44

Soop will be missed , here , but by her family and wide circle of friends 🕯️

Good morning everyone from DD's in a bright and sunny East Northamts..

We had such a lovely day yesterday - was picked up before lunch to come over here. Sat in the garden in lovely sunshine drinking sangria and champagne, then had a delicious lunch of roast lamb, after which we were well and truly stuffed. So not much else was done the rest of the day, just sat and enjoyed each other's company.

Everyone is up this morning - DSil has already gone to work, and DD is at her desk in the dining-room. The rest of us will be heading back home in about 45 minutes.

I will have time to get changed, have lunch and then join my walking group this afternoon,

Wishing all a pleasant day.

Redcar Tue 07-Apr-26 09:04:24

I read the news about soop yesterday evening, such a brave lady who will be missed. So sad for her DH and all her family.

Grannydaisy1 Tue 07-Apr-26 09:13:41

grandmattie. That's is beautiful. You are very talented. Done ultra quick too. If I could do something like that it would take me years

BlueSapphire Tue 07-Apr-26 09:27:07

Just read the news about Soop. So sad.
May she rest in peace, and Mr Soop be comforted
