Good morning from Malta where we expect a sunny day with a high of 23°C.

I got a lot done yesterday before my back gave out and forced me to leave a couple of jobs for today. I did several washes and everything dried outside.

This morning I have a man coming to clean the sofa bed in what was DS’s room. I want to turn the room into a playroom for the boys as their toys and paraphernalia are taking over my living room.

He’s coming early so I shall have to hop into the shower soon or I’ll be caught still in my pjs.

Later I shall have the boys while their parents go to make a Will. I’ve a feeling it’s gong to clash with the tennis I am keen to watch. Just my luck!🤦🏼‍♀️

Wishing you all a good day.☀️

Good morning from a just getting light N Surrey. Still a lovely moon in the southern sky and it's very quiet. The Easter holiday makes a difference. Even the M25 motorway is quieter.
A day of tidying the pots and a load of washing to put on. It is such a treat that the washing dries in the sunshine and breeze. One of life's pleasures. A 2nd cup of coffee I think. Not a good night's sleep, but I am enjoying my book so it's not the end of the world. In my book the main character in her 80s smoked some marijuana and had the best night's sleep of her life. Well now there's a thought.
Have a good day all.

Good morning from a still slightly dark Torbay but the sky looks promising so another fine day seems likely. It’s been a good long weekend weather wise for the holidaymakers, many of whom visit for Easter.

That includes my DD2 and family who are staying with her father locally. We were pleased to entertain them here yesterday morning along with my DSIL, DGS2 and DGD. They’d been to visit Kent's Cavern which isn’t far from here.

Later, DH and I enjoyed a walk on the Downs where it was a beautiful afternoon as we sat in the warm sunshine, which led to the inevitable stop off at our favourite local!

Props this morning at the theatre.

I hope everyone has had a good weekend whatever you've done and that we shall soon hear from Pantglas. 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

Good morning from a dry Bristol. The weather has turned 180 degrees. It’s now 7C and will be an incredible 20C by this afternoon. What to wear?
The playroom sounds a lovely idea, bellas, I hope the boys like it.
It was so sunny yesterday, but again with a viciously cold wind, so sadly being outside wasn’t really an option.
I wore myself out doing the floors yesterday. The non-slip ones need to be scrubbed to be really clean which gave me back ache.
After Tesco, I had an early lunch, then I finished a couple of batches of St. Clements marmalade - the vicar has decided that it’s even nicer than the orange and cranberry one…
I have finished my fair isle jumper, just on time for the hot weather! I’m very pleased with the result, despite many blips, , seeing that it is my first effort at fair isle.
Today is empty - patchwork and laundry beckon.. I also need to bake something for the FAB cafe tomorrow.
Have a gentle day all. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from a still, clear-skyed Cornwall where first light is just peeping through the trees. The sea baptisms on Sunday were lovely, with two young men braving a calm but freezing sea in tees and shorts. Afterwards they went back to church for breakfast. My son and I walked around a lake and talked, a precious rare treat for me. He's recently been to Germany on one of his history trips and told me all about it. On his way home he saw this double rainbow. That same evening we had the loveliest, funniest time at a games venue where I played air hockey with my grandchildren and my sons reverted to childhood and larked around. It was the best Easter ever.

Yesterday I ventured up into my wild garden, first time since winter, to find that a large tree had come down in that vicious storm we had. I'll inform my landlord in case he wants to do something about it, but it could be left as it is. I lay on my sunlounger under a luscious green canopy looking out across the town's rooftops and read a Bill Bryson book and giggled. Afterwards I went to the cinema followed by tea in Wetherspoons. All very indulgent and pleasant.

Today there is clearing in my flat to do to make space for the delivery of a new frost free freezer, yippee.

Good morning from Kent where it is seven degrees and sunny.

A bit of a manic weekend visiting family. Although lovely, I do need quiet time to reset my thoughts afterwards.

Today, after some life admin, I will spend some time reading and knitting then in the afternoon tidy up a part of the garden so I have some space to grow runner beans.

You are very talented grandMattie. I cannot imagine ever attempting that pattern. I would no doubt muddle up the colour changes.

Happy Tuesday to all.

Good morning from Sheffield

Your jumper is lovely GrandMattie, I love the colours

It’s going to be a lovely day by all accounts.
It would be as I’m back at work.

The virus I had is still lingering, I don’t feel 100% yet although a lot better.
I’m back at the osteopath later . It definitely helped when I saw him 10 days ago. I don’t know what he did, it didn’t seem much at the time, but it’s definitely better

I have some unpacking to do first thing and some washing.

Take care everyone flowers

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where it is expected to be 18 degrees by two o’clock. I slept fitfully last night.

Yesterday I spent most of the afternoon in the garden trimming the edges of the lawn with the long shears ready for GS to put the mower on it today when he comes to help with the garden, and weeding and trimming the top edge of my rockery wall which required me spending a long time on my knees. Not sure it was sensible, but the results were worth it. Today, apart from the lawn, there are plants to move around the top bed and a lot of weeding to do. I shall be grateful for GS’s help, and all for the cost of a full English to get him going!

Mattie that is a superb sweater!

Have the best day you can folks.

Gelisajams Tue 07-Apr-26 06:45:34

Good morning Mick and all from Morecambe Bay where we are promised a good day weather wise. The dawn chorus is in full voice although it is dominated by the wood pigeons. Much as I love birds, the wood pigeons are my least favourite.
I’ve just realised my hair appointment is tomorrow, not today, so that puts a different perspective on what we will do today. Maybe take Crazy Dog to the Dunes on the Cumbrian coast. Before that we’ll take him for his morning walk in the woods. It was lovely yesterday as the primroses and violets are in full bloom all along the paths.
At some point I hopefully have a rose bush to tie up for a lady. We are waiting for the fence company to fit trellis on her new fence. It should have been done last week when they put the new fence in, but they ‘forgot’ to bring the trellis.
I’m impressed with the Fairisle GM . It’s something I’ve never had the patience to master.
Take care everyone.

karmalady Tue 07-Apr-26 06:47:18

Good morning from s somerset, it is going to be a beautiful sunny day today

* GM* that is a lovely jumper and well done

Allotment by car yesterday, I think all the big heavier things are now back there for the year and I have a new plot neighbour. He is nice, chatty, smiley and knowledgeable and does not let his physical difficulties get in the way

I will be up there by 10, maybe earlier, cycling there and ready to paint my shed. The wood is so thirsty again. I shall have a good breakfast and take water and I will be taking my time with the painting

Re-bounding is going very well and I am making a daily effort of just short sessions. I don`t need to hold the safety bar for bounces now but I do hold it for the jumps, not high jumps of course. It is an easy beneficial exercise for me

RosesandLilac Tue 07-Apr-26 06:54:04

Good morning, it’s a chilly start here on my hillside in south Glos, there’s frost on my Shed roof. It’s going to be a lovely sunny day.
That’s a beautiful sweater grandMattie you really are very talented.
Yesterday morning was spent tidying up and getting 4 loads of washing on the line. I also sorted a bag of clothes etc for the charity collection tomorrow and now my drawers are tidier.
I had a lovely chat and cup of tea with a very good friend after lunch, she lives in the village and, like me, is a retired nurse.
It’s been a lovely Easter for me, I hope it was the same for you 🌹

Marzipan22 Tue 07-Apr-26 07:07:24

Well done gM, it's a lovely jumper. Reminded me of when I was on a ship going to Norway and watched a Swedish lady knitting Fair Isle gloves without once looking down. The various colours were in jam jars at her feet. Amazing.

Ladyleftfieldlover Tue 07-Apr-26 07:07:58

madeleine45 Tue 07-Apr-26 07:14:07

Good morning Mick and all GN.s on a clear but very chilly morning from North Yorkshire. I am slowly creaking up and trying to get myself going but rather a struggle.

Yesterday I took an age to get myself ready to go to my friends, but it was worth it and we had a lovely afternoon and had our belated Easter meal. The lamb was beautiful and we had lots of different vegetables and ,all in all ,a delicious meal with ,of course ,mint sauce. That was from a bottle as this last year I didnt grow any mints in my tubs but think I shall start to grow some more as I really enjoy fresh mint sauce and chopping the mint was a job I did as a child and it brings back memories too. The tubs will have to be on asphalt well away from the grass or it will run riot.

I am taking things slowly and plodding through the usual boring chores and then I need to get in touch with the bank and see why I am having problems with my credit card. Of course it was over the holidays so couldnt do much until today, but apart from that I have no great plans apart from doing a bit more paper sorting if the weather stays cold.

Heard from the family yesterday morning, and my son is improving but still in quite a lot of pain he says. We havent made any plans to meet up yet, and I dont feel like driving right over at the moment. My back is not good and a long journey , no matter how many stops , would not improve matters right now.

I still have some plants that need to go in the garden, but between the cold weather and my back dont think they will get done for a couple of days at least. Saw some lovely plants for sale yesterday but resisted as it is still really too cold up here to be planting all but the sturdiest plants, and I havent got a cold frame . Everyone is so glad to see some daylight and desperate to get out in the garden but round here you will be wasting your money and the garden centres will be pleased with a morning frost which will send everyone back to buy replacements! At the moment it is still winter clothes on and big jacket to go on the yellow peril.

It will actually be quite nice today to get back to "normal" and meet up with friends who have either been away or had families visiting and much as we enjoy it all , it does remind us that we are getting older as more tiring than it used to be, so we may meet up for coffee at some time today. Have just heard my favourite Brandenburg 3 on the radio and had my coffee so this is a good start to my day.

Hope your chiropodist comes early Mick so you are free to get off on the bus. Hope your man comes early too Bellasnana and leaves you free to do things with the boys. GrandMattie what a lovely jumper, I did a lot of knitting in the past for everyone but never attempted a complicated Fair Isle. No doubt there will be a chilly evening when you can show it off. Marzipan sounds as though you had a lovely day to treasure . I love to see a rainbow and always feel it is good luck. Hope you have a peaceful time to recover from the weekend Gillymo.

Wishing everyone a calm and peaceful day after the holidays and thoughts to all those struggling today

Good morning from a sunny W Kent. After a rather mixed weekend back to art today. Yesterday I got a lot of tidying done plus the ironing so now up to date for a change
gM a beautiful jumper I hope you enjoy wearing it
Best wishes

Good morning from a bright, sunny S E Essex.

I have nothing planned for today, need to have a think and get sorted 🙋‍♀️

ginny Tue 07-Apr-26 07:21:59

Good morning. It’s chilly at the moment but the forecast is for another sunny day.
Yesterday was perfect for working in the garden. It is looking neat and tidy. With quite a bit of colour coming along.
Bits and bobs this morning and then we will be collecting the two DGSs from a tennis session. We will give them lunch and they will amuse us until DD3 collects them around 4ish.
Thinking of all who have worries and troubles and hope today brings some relief. A good day wished for all.

Good morning from Stockport.
Although it was lovely seeing my D and GD it is lovely to be back home.

Travelling yesterday was difficult, the train became really overcrowded with people standing with huge cases in the aisles and blocking the doors.
I felt it was dangerous.
The lady sitting next to me and I were the only ones in our carriage getting off at Stockport and it took a real effort on everyone’s part to extract our cases from the pile and get us to the door, I was not happy and resolved not to travel on a Bank Holiday again, in fact I really don’t want to travel far at all now, I am nearing 89 and feel it is too much.

One lovely thing was though that my Goddaughter who lives near Nottingham was able to come and have breakfast with us.
Her parents are both dead now, there is only 2 months difference in age between our D’s and they have been friend for life, she is my GD’s Godmother .

The weather fortunately was beautiful and more is promised so I hope you can all enjoy at least some of it.

dragonfly46 Tue 07-Apr-26 07:32:10

Good morning from sunny Leicestershire.

Coffee with friends this morning. We try and set the world to rights but it is getting more and more difficult.

Will change the beds as the washing will dry beautifully in the garden as DD is coming to pick up her dog tomorrow.

Lovely sweater Mattie I knitted a very complicated two ply cardigan once. It drove my DH mad as the plastic fishes used to to clatter.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

brook2704 Tue 07-Apr-26 07:42:47

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a bright sunny start to the day, slightly warmer too
Yesterday we had a day out at a local NT property, Brodie Castle which had a wonderful display of daffodils but was busy with an Easter egg hunt. Today it’s the usual weekday routine of a couple of classes at the gym followed by a walk by the river back into town and then the bus home. A simple straightforward day but enjoyable. The bus timetables have changed again so will have to look the times up again before going out
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Redcar Tue 07-Apr-26 07:43:07

Good morning everyone from a sunny mid Essex, some sunny warm weather is forecast. I’m stiff this morning after more gardening yesterday. I realised that last summer’s hot dry weather has taken quite a toll on some of the shrubs in the garden. Lots of cutting out of dead twigs and branches is needed.

marzipan brave young men to be baptised in the cold sea on Sunday! I’m pleased you had such an enjoyable Easter.

utbb I’m glad you’re home safely after your trip to Nottingham. The return train journey sounds awful.

Have the best day possible everyone.

GrannyIvy Tue 07-Apr-26 07:44:24

Good morning from Cambridgeshire where we are forecast a warm sunny day. Yesterday was a quiet day with a long chat to a friend who lives many miles away. I am planning on getting my electric mountain bike out today and attempt a ride out, it is ages since I last took it out. Hope to do about 12 miles keeping away from busy roads and then home to finish my book before Book Club this evening.

Hoping everyone had an enjoyable Easter and enjoys some lovely warm sunshine.

kittylester Tue 07-Apr-26 07:47:06

Good morning all from a bright North Leicestershire.

We didn't go shopping yesterday as originally planned but went to the main art gallery in Leicester as a friend has 2 of her paintings there.

Shopping today instead. We need to replenish our wine glasses and buy a mattress topper.

Have the best day possible everyone.

monk08 Tue 07-Apr-26 07:50:44

Good morning all from a lovely sunny Black country.
Yesterday was a lovely day spent at the farm, DiLs family were there and all 6 cousins had a great time in the play barn. We were lucky enough to watch a goat giving birth it produced triplets such a sight to see.
We also held 9day old chicks, the children then did an Easter egg hunt while the adults enjoyed the sunshine.
Today DH wants me to help him with a task he needs to do so I'm on labouring duties unless I can persuade him different.
Well the washing has finished so will get it on the line in the sunshine.
Lovely photos once again.
Have a good day everyone whatever your plans ☀️.
