Health OK,
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a bright but chilly Co Durham.
Glad your little treasures had a good birthday, Bellasnana. Hope you enjoy your test drive, Ah. Happy cruising, ginny. Madeleine, the tulips sound beautiful, if we had transport it would have been lovely to go and see, it’s only 45 minutes from here. Melanie, I’ve just read on the news that a child died in a dog attack in our wider area. It so distressing.
Yesterday’s bookkeeping isn’t finished so I must start again today. I really should do it more often.
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning from London. It’s going to be cooler today but dry.

We had a lovely day yesterday the travel here was very smooth and the hotel is lovely near Liverpool Street station. We had a walk around Spitalfields with a light lunch and a cocktail. We met our family’s son who is a banker for drinks after he finished work he’s a wonderful young man. Our dinner cruise on the Thames was very pleasant but we were with the best company.

Today my sister and brother in law are joining us and we are meeting at Boxhall City for lunch as I saw it on Masterchef and booked us all a table. I’m hoping there are some good gluten free choices for me. Tonight we all go and see ABBA Voyage together. DHs cousin and his wife are on the dance floor but the four of us are sitting. It will be so hard not to get up and dance but I’m not sure it’s allowed.

How upsetting Melanie to see your DGS injured. I would be furious too. 💐
Roses 💐

The sunset behind Tower Bridge was gorgeous and Canary Wharf looked very dramatic. I’ve popped a couple of pics on.
Hope there are moments of joy in your day today.

Good morning from Shropshire.A dry and dull start to the day.

The weather was dreadful yesterday in North Wales but we still had a good time.We discovered a new to us National Trust property, Penrhyn Castle.I have been going to Anglesey my whole life and have never been there. We all absolutely loved it and have lots left to explore on future visits. The children wanted to come home with us for a sleepover.Luckily they were as tired as us and we were all in bed by 8.30😴

DD will collect the children after lunch so we will probably be ready for another nap by then!I am pleased at what we managed to do but definitely a few quieter days needed.

Melanie what a traumatic thing to happen to your DGS.Sad as it is I hope sense prevails and they do the right thing.I would be furious too.

Thinking of Pantglas and our other absent friends and wishing everyone the best day possible 🌷🦩

Good morning from a warm and sunny Kent. Yesterday was a scorcher. I sat in the sun too long and this morning I notice it has brought out a brown age patch on my face. Time to start applying sun cream I think.

madeleine45 I enjoyed your account of visiting the tulip fields. It was like being there, you describe it so well.

karmalady it must be nice to have a new neighbour at the allotment. You say he's old-school? How do his growing techniques differ from yours?

A happy day to all.

brook2704 Fri 10-Apr-26 07:48:23

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a dry sunny start to the day.
Roses thinking of you 💐
How awful for your DGS melanie I hope he recovers well
I didn’t get out in the garden yesterday as it rained most of the day Today I’m back to the gym so a bit busier but hopefully I’ll get some time in the garden later. If not then that’s the plan for the weekend
Have a lovely cruise holiday Ginny and enjoy every minute
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning from a bright, but cold Durham. Breaking out the thermals!
My cold soldiers on, it’s never ending.
Not a lot planned today, although I hope the garden crew show up, as I expected them yesterday. I try not to go out and about much during school holidays, especially to places I know will be busy - it’s an odd quirk I’ve had for many years. Retired, so I feel there’s plenty of other times for me to do my thing.
Safe travels to those on the land, sea or in the air today.

I hope your GP can expedite things Roses 💐

Best wishes to all. X

Susan56 Fri 10-Apr-26 07:50:59

Roses 💐the GP sounds like she will hopefully be another support for you.I hope she can expedite your appointments.x

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Sun is up!🌞

I slept all night for the first time in ages. May have been a good yoga class yesterday.

Volunteering this morning and then another TV crew are filming this house with the team who want to buy it.

Your poor DGD Melanie! I hope they are sensible and take the dog to the vet.

When I was bitten on the hand by a friend's new rescue dog, she continued to take it out muzzled but I heard recently she no longer has the dog. She couldn't handle it!

Lovely photos. Bella

Hope everyone has a fine day.

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny but chilly Carlisle, there appeared to be a thin layer of ice on my car windscreen at dawn. Not complaining ....I believe it's due to get windy later and that I don't like.
Yesterday was quiet, I felt pale and lightheaded all day. I did get through the ironing though and did a bit of admin. I watched an interesting programme on Persian history and art in the evening, an antidote to the current situation.

Today will be a quiet morning as I have to rest up for appointments at the dentist and opticians this afternoon. I really don't want to have to cancel them. At the moment I am living with a gap in my mouth due to a lost crown and wearing my old glasses as I couldn't get on with my new prescription.

Wishing you all a pleasant day with problems resolving and poorlinesses improving !

Marzipan22 Fri 10-Apr-26 07:56:45

Good morning from an overcast and very calm Cornwall. The usual hierarchy of birds plus resident squirrel are picking up the organic oats I've put out and for once the dunnock has managed to get in just after the squirrel, good for him. In a rush as my granddaughter is arriving for the day soon. Amazing photos WhiteSwan, I'll show my photographer son.

Jaxjacky Fri 10-Apr-26 08:04:07

Morning from an overcast S Hants, 6, back to normal.
Yesterday we went out locally and sat in a garden for coffee, it was quiet, so I had the Merlin app picking up the bird sounds, it fascinates me, (MrJ has a different viewpoint!)
Home was admin, including an email to my hip surgeon with a few questions, his secretary is very prompt in acknowledging and cheerful.
Today Tesco delivery, not sure about the local tonight, I’m wary of crowds.
Have a great cruise ginny 🌞
Good luck with the test drive Ashcombe.
I’m so glad your GP is supportive Roses you need that 💐.

Good morning from cloudy Leicestershire.

DD came on Wednesday and stayed overnight which was lovely. She took her doggy home with her and it has been very quiet ever since.

Despite the cloud I must strip the beds today as it is going to rain for the next couple of days.
A trip to M&S, Pilates and a visit from my lovely cleaners is on the cards today.

I hope you get your appointments through soon Roses once you have your treatment plan things start to feel better. The Pet scan is quite quick and nothing to worry about. You just have to wait a while before the injection circulates but the scan itself is quick.
Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Liberty Fri 10-Apr-26 08:08:10

Good morning from another bright looking day in Suffolk. We have no plans for the day apart from the usual household jobs but the main activity will be keeping the dog away from the front lawn. She is always off the lead when we leave the house for her walks and she usually has a sniff on the small front lawn before meeting us on the drive to go through the gate on to the footpath along the fields.

DH is sure that we have a pheasant sitting on a clutch of eggs in the far corner of the lawn next to the house. We’ve never had one nesting before so close and wonder if it is the same bird that only a few days ago was sitting by the gate into the back yard. Again, very unusually there were 2 partridges in that yard a couple of days ago.

Nature,in all its glory, always has a few surprises.

Hope today is a good one for all. So sorry * Melanie* to read about the upset and on going trauma about your DD’s dog.

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 10-Apr-26 08:10:22

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

Ginny, the mind boggles! What on earth does this lady do in the choir!

OH and I had a good day out yesterday. Lunch at our favourite pottery cafe. Quiche and salad as usual and a wander in the shop. We drove to our nearby NT property but it was cold and windy and OH hadn’t brought a warm coat. We went back home via Waitrose.

I am having my roots done today. I’m 73 later this month but still not ready to go grey!

Have a good day.

Marydoll Fri 10-Apr-26 08:18:43

A quick good morning from a shattered me. I got home at 1am, after spending most of the day in A&E with DH.

I thought my BP monitor was broken, so I bought a new one. It wasn't!! I took his BP as soon as it arrived, and knew he needed intervention.
When they took his BP in hospital, it was 241/119! The nurse looked at me and nodded, saying I had done the right thing. DH was totally oblivious to the seriousness.

We had Babydoll and I couldn't get a hold of anyone. My children work in jobs, where their phones are off. I was so stressed.
Babydoll was a wee star, cuddling into Papa and keeping him calm, until her parents arrived.

I had tried phoning my surgery for advice, they were under emergency measures yesterday, couldn't speak to someone, NHS 111 were no better.
I was upstairs phoning in secret!

They cannot get DH's BP down, so he is in an acute medical ward,
The consultant was astounded that he has never been on medication and hadn't seen a GP in over thirty years.

My husband received fantastic care in such a stressful environment, with patients lined up in corridors on trolleys. All the scans are clear and they have no idea, what is causing it.
However, it seems to have been going on for a while and partly explains his erratic and angry behaviour.
My children thought I had been exagerrating his mood swings.

The staff were so kind and realised, I wasn't too well either.
One nurse made me tea and found sandwiches for me, another walked me to my car at 1am, they said they didn't want me in A&E too. ♥️

I now have a list of orders, before I head back up.
I was supposed to take DIL to the same hospital today, she now has had to ask her father.
When I messaged my friends this morning, to tell them, they already knew.
DIL's father had been messaging the neighbours last night! He is a busybody.🤬

Must go. I am missing my early morning cuppa and painkillers, brought by the butler.

Glad the party went well, Bella. Good luck with the car, *Ash!

Enjoy your day, folks

GrannyGravy13 Fri 10-Apr-26 08:19:52

Good morning from a grey and chilly S E Essex.

I plan to go to the gym this morning, not sure what I will be able to do as I have pain in my sacroiliac joint. Gentle exercise and movement should ease it.

Hope you like your car Ashcombe

hollysteers Fri 10-Apr-26 08:20:01

Good morning from a cold but brightening northwest coast.
I had a lovely day yesterday on the coach trip to Matlock Bath, although the weather left a lot to be desired, being chilly and rainy.

The bus was lively (noisy) and our driver had to tell everyone to shut up so he could make important announcements 😁. I hadn’t seen the town before and liked it, also bought a few trifles. The surrounding countryside is beautiful. A lone widower on the bus engaged me in conversation and vainly tried to fix up future meetings…nice to be asked though.

Thoughts to Roses and I hope your car proves to be just the job Ashcombe🌺

hollysteers Fri 10-Apr-26 08:20:57

Tried to post photie

monk08 Fri 10-Apr-26 08:22:41

Good morning all from the Black country.
The boys were well behaved yesterday, Dgs2 didn't want to go to the park so he stayed home with grandad.
Dgs1 made a friend in the park and I had a lovely chat with another grandma.
Haven't read through yet so will make a cuppa and catch up with everybody's happenings.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans ☀️.

harrigran Fri 10-Apr-26 08:24:50

Good morning from a sunny NE after overnight rain.
Frustrating day yesterday trying to sort out financial issues, hours on the computer and still didn't manage to achieve what I wanted.
I emailed the piano tuner and he agreed to come but no date or time yet. He covers the whole of NE England and Cumbria.

DS and family are on a short break in the Lakes, they sent photos from Beatrix Potter's house and the surrounding scenery.

DD and SIL are back in Brussels but have ordered coffee pods for their coffee machine so today I will be getting a delivery, no time slot yet.
Have a good day.

Cossy Fri 10-Apr-26 08:25:48

Good morning from the not so sunny Costa del Sol where we have a very short break of 4 nights, returning home to Blighty tomorrow.

Visiting friends so have had a great time but do wish 1) bit more sun 2) we had a more comfortable bed!

We are in a very cheap little appt and next time will not be so mean 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Have a lovely day and a wonderful weekend, one and all 🥀🥀

Susan56 Fri 10-Apr-26 08:28:47

Oh my goodness Marydoll.Thank goodness you checked his blood pressure and he is now in hospital getting the treatment he needs.Hooe things settle down and he is soon home again.x

GrannyGravy13 Fri 10-Apr-26 08:28:50

Oh my Marydoll I have just seen your post.

I do hope your DH can be sorted quickly, take care of yourself 😘

luluaugust Fri 10-Apr-26 08:32:48

Marydoll so sorry to read about your DH, glad he is now in the right place. Mind how you go and very best wishes

grandMattie Fri 10-Apr-26 08:33:13

My poor MD, how absolutely horrible for you both. I trust the hospital will take good care of your DH. Don’t forget your own health.
Prayers winging their way to you.
