Good Morning Everyone,
A dark but dry start here in Brackley but feels cool .
The usual routine with a bus trip to Bicester to shop and chat to those I know.
Also its a visit to the chippy at lunchtime plan to have a lunch box which is a small piece of fish ,sausage and curry sauce to to dip the chips in.
Health OK,
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning everyone from an overcast Northampton, set to be cloudy all day.

Was busy yesterday morning with lots of little jobs, and then later I made spicy pork and apple burgers with some good pork mince I had ordered from Sainsburys. Had one for my dinner in a bun with fried onions and it was delicious. There are three left which I put in the freezer to open-freeze, and I now need to wrap these individually.

After lunch I set to and cut the back grass and was pleased I had got that done as later we had heavy showers.

I shall probably hop on the bus later this morning and go to the shops; I need to return a dress to Next and change for a smaller.size. Will have a coffee in Costa which is the only place now since our M&S and Sainsbury's cafes closed.

Home-made chicken curry from the freezer for dinner tonight.

Wishing all a pleasant day.

Thank goodness you acted marydoll. Hope for a solution today, a hug for you and get well wishes for your husband.

Glammagran thank you for the Bowood photos - happy childhood memories for me.
We used to go in at the entrance on the Silver Street/Mile End Road, and walk through the public walking trails and come out through the gates at Black Dog - it was a very long walk!

Sorry to hear about Mr MD but he’s in the right place. Hopefully, he’ll have a total, but long overdue overhaul and they’ll be some diagnosis of his BP problem. Do be kind to yourself. X

WhiteSwan63 Fri 10-Apr-26 08:42:53

Special thoughts to your DH Marydoll I hope they can get his BP down today 💐

Good morning Mick and all
We had a cheering day yesterday when we took the bus to Edinburgh for a matinee performance of the new musical version of tv sitcom The High Life with Alan Cumming and co - very Scottish humour!
DD2 and SiL will be back today from a trip to Strathclyde Country Park in their new motorhome. The DGS’s elected to stay home alone. They are supposed to be completing coursework and revising for their final exams. J did do some physics revision but C was invisible most of the day (upstairs playing his computer games), though he did present me with a further paragraph of his English short story so that I could question what some of the words were and render them into accepted spelling - he is severely dyslexic and has a scribe for exams but no support at all from the school for coursework.
I will do some more gardening at DDs if the weather allows.

Thoughts with all those with health and other challenges.

I hope all is well at the hospital today Marydoll what a shock for you.

glammagran Fri 10-Apr-26 08:54:51

Melanie I’m so sorry that your GS has suffered such a trauma. I think it’s far too risky to keep the dog it could attack a toddler if it encountered one.

Roses I’ve had exactly the same from M&S. I’ve gone from 14R to 12S in jeans. I last bought the former about 9 months ago. It’s M&S who have changed - I haven’t.

Good morning from Stockport.
Another quiet day for me yesterday but I did get two laundry loads done.
MaryD best wishes for your H and you.
He is in the best place, you must put aside all your commitments to concentrate on you two.
More sad news from the kitchen today, it is the age many of us are at.
Dry here at the moment after a very wet afternoon yesterday.

Grammaretto Fri 10-Apr-26 09:13:31

Oh so sorry to hear about DH Marydoll.
It's the last thing your family needs but at least you've got him to the right place and they will hopefully get to the bottom of it. 🙏🤞

MaryD - what a day! 🌹

marydoll I hope that the hospital are soon able to bring your DH’s blood pressure down to a more normal level and are able to determine why it was so high. Look after yourself too! flowers

Crikey I’ve just done what Marydoll did the other day and posted on yesterday’s GM thread in error!

I started to read the posts above mine and thought ‘hang on, these seem familiar’. Anyway here is mine C&P to today’s thread ….

Good morning everyone from RIP van Winkle in the south of Manchester where it’s sunny and dry (for now). I have no plans but as always another bit of bereavement admin to tackle on line. Every time I think I’ve finished someone contacts me …
I do think this is the very last bit though, finalising a few details concerning Himself’s private pension. Get this bit done and then some money might appear in the current account. I hope so.

First to enjoy my second TiB and read all your posts. So many too - over 50 of them! This has become a very popular start to the day for many people now. Thank you Mick.

Aldom Fri 10-Apr-26 10:50:25

Roses thinking of you 🌹

Marydol I'm hoping for a good outcome for your husband. flowers

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Fri 10-Apr-26 11:03:34

Just finished reading all the posts and my best wishes go to Roses and Marydoll during these anxious times for you both. x

Blossoming Fri 10-Apr-26 11:10:53

Good morning all from sunny Lancashire. I’m not too well at the moment and not really up to posting regularly though I do try to keep up with your news. Roses and Marydoll sending love and best wishes for a good outcome.

paddyann54 Fri 10-Apr-26 11:26:34

Marydoll it was probably for the best that he had that wee turn while you were with him, otherwise he,d have kept going and then have been very ill.My husbands heart attacks were caused by stress ,he had a couple of “turns” while at work but shrugged them off a d had a heart attack during the night .
Your man will have been stressed about you and your DIL and tried to hide it.
I,m sure the hospital will get him sorted,my OH was taken to Paisley where the care was exceptional amd from there to the Golden Jubilee where care and staff are second to none .
Give him our very best wishes and tell him to slow down…and that’s my advice for you too.
Take care of each other x

EkwaNimitee Fri 10-Apr-26 12:15:37

Yes, Marydoll, thank goodness your DH had the turn in your presence. I do hope the docs soon discover what’s wrong and get him sorted and back home soon.
