Morning Mick and all GN's.

Have had a very bad night and absolutely struggling this morning, difficulty moving etc. Raining and miserable to add to things. So will come back and read posts later when I hope I am a bit better.
Wishing you all a good day

Morning Mick, morning All. Rain on the window, trees flapping about, not the best start for our corner of Somerset.

Volunteer shift was as enjoyable as ever yesterday. Grocery shop was also enjoyable, odd though that may sound. Then came more worrying news from our Welsh friend and our goddaughter. I’m torn between a wish they had something positive to share and relief I don’t have to guess how they are.

Not sure how today will unfold, if a dry spell comes along there are three new plants to introduce to the slugs, I’ll be putting Easter bits and pieces away and generally faffing. May get to more episodes of the Other Bennett sister while Mr C frowns at his latest puzzle

Hope marydoll’s husband is responding to treatment.

Best wishes to everyone.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where it is damp at the moment and will be all day it seems. I managed about two hours sleep last night before excruciating cramp in my leg woke me and that was it for the rest of the night. It’s like someone sticking hot knives into the muscles and takes some settling.

Yesterday afternoon I took a trip into our town centre thinking the tram would take me straight there but work on the line meant that most of the journey was on a bus which was neither quick nor comfortable. I managed to buy a much needed pair of trainers, a look round a photography exhibition at the Millenium Galleries, have a mooch around Waterstones and then it was home.

I have a small shop to do this morning for the ingredients for a curry we will eat when DS and DiL come down to visit tomorrow. The way I feel at the moment a long slow empty weekend is a more tempting prospect, no matter how much I love the visitors.

Have the best day you can folks.

Good morning from a dull cloudy Suffolk, so disappointing after the last few glorious days. Spring however continues a pace here. We have more emerging cowslips than ever before and we’ve seen 1 baby moorhen on the pond. By the sound of gentle tweeting,I’m sure there are others, yet to leave their nest at the edge under overhanging greenery.

I hope those unwell have an easier day today and Marydoll’s DH is home soon with a treatment plan in place.

A quiet day here with the only excitement being a trip to our nearest town to fill up my car and our weekly Waitrose order this afternoon. The rest of the day will be spent peacefully with reading and eating. The ironing can wait for another day or two.

Good morning from a wet and windy NE.
Yesterday I spent the entire morning in the study trying to sort out financial business. I was pleased I logged on to online banking because they notified me that today and tomorrow transactions would not be possible at Barclays due to maintenance work.
I ended up ringing the bank and talking to a lady who guided me through everything I needed to do, I was on the phone for a very long time but I felt reassured that it was sorted.

Had lots of photos from DS from their break in the Lakes, one lovely video clip of GD playing the piano at Brantwood..

DS and both GDs are visiting this afternoon, we will be having an early dinner because GDs are going to the theatre to see Mean girl DS will remain here and GDs will pick him up after the theatre.
Sorry to hear about your DH Marydoll, hope he gets sorted quickly and returns home.
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. It's rained overnight but a gorgeous day yesterday.

A 2nd TV reporter was here with the chap who is trying to raise enough money to buy my house for a community arts venture.

In the evening my friends came for dinner when it was cold enough to light the fire.

Today I have booked into a printmaking course and I think I was supposed to arrive prepared!

I hope that Marydoll DH is going to be OK and that she is getting some support.

I was glad to read that Roses has some good people around her.

May everyone have some joy today.

Good morning from a rainy Black Country, after a lovely sunny (albeit with a chilly wind) yesterday.

Met DD and SIL and girls for lunch. Seems SIL's Mum's house sale has fallen through, so back on market. It needs to be sold to pay Care Home fees.

No real plans today, so mainly housework etc.

Hoping that MD's DH is recovering well.

Wishing you all the best day possible

monk08 Sat 11-Apr-26 08:22:52

Good morning all from a wet Black country.
Front garden tidied and lawn mowed yesterday, but I'm now suffering with hay fever eyes are so itchy. I never developed it until the last couple of years.
No plans today may go and meet DS and the boys after gymnastics will see if the weather improves.
Marydoll hope there is better news on your DH and they have found whats causing it.
Well usual full English calling so will catch up with everybody's happenings later.
Have the best day you can everyone whatever your plans ☀️.

Good morning as I rise a little bit later and look forward to meeting my sister as we are going out for her birthday. I smiled as I read ginny going over the bay of biscay I remember a cruise a few years ago thinking wow this is a bit choppy when we went through the bay of biscay! We too are going on a cruise in 7 weeks can’t wait. My hubby who is in semi retirement doesn’t do sitting about much much to my dismay. I can sit for England unfortunately! He loves the cruises and I’ booked this for him. More time together with added distractions! Perfect. Have a good day all.

Good morning from a grey S E Essex.

Thinking of our poorly kitchen pals, and those with DH’s with illnesses.

My back is sore, resorted to putting on a heat patch before bed last night.

Off to the butchers and bakers down the road first thing. DD is popping in with the GS’s at lunch time, so I will have snacks at the ready.

karmalady Sat 11-Apr-26 08:45:23

Madeleine I hope you feel better soon. flowers

Marydoll Sat 11-Apr-26 08:53:18

Good morning all from a showery Glasgow, where it is 3°C,

Bella, what a shock for you and difficult, when your daughter is so far away.

Ash, enjoy your car. Your journeys to France will be a dawdle.

Thank you all for all your good wishes for DH. I apologise for not responding to PMs. I haven't had a minute.
After many changes in decisions, DH got home last night, with a raft of medication. His BP kept going up and down in hospital, but after additional medication, it came down again.
I have just taken his BP, before he takes his meds and it will take it again, in an hour, after he takes his pills.

This is a whole new world for him, he doesn't even take paracetamol. Also, he needs to start taking responsibility (he agrees) for his health and will be taking his own BP, from now on secretly supervised by me. He can't be trusted 😉.
What he doesn't know, is my BP almost matched his, when I got home from the hospital, early Friday morning. 😪

He phoned me from hospital yesterday and I couldn't hear a word he was saying. He was getting so ratty ( last thing I needed.)
Then to my surprise, DS2, Babydoll's dad, interrupted. His car was in the garage, so he had decided to walk to the hospital.
He took over from DH and I could hear a three way conversation, involving DH, DS and a nurse.
DH was refusing lunch, because he ^ was going home^, DS2 said he wasn't going home, the nurse said he wasn't going home and to eat something. DH, had misheard the doctor. No surprise there.😉
This three way conversation went on for ages, without any interaction with me.
Poor DS had a taste of what I suffer every day.

On a lighter note, I was on my way to Sainsbury's to pick up requested items for DH. I got out onto the main road, but my car wouldn't pick up speed. Cue feelings of panic, I would have to go back home and get DH's car, which I have never driven.
😨 it was the last straw! I wanted to weep.

I turned off onto the country road and into a new housing development, because the line of frustrated drivers behind me, were getting a tad annoyed..
It wasn't until I saw the sign on the dashboard, which said: You have engaged your speed limitation facility and are attempting to drive over the set limit. ???????
I did not know I even had a speed limiter, but the cars driving behind me on a very busy 40mph road at 19mph, probably did.🤣

Things got worse. This estate is full of cul de sacs and dead ends. I could see the main road , but couldn't get to it. I was going round and round in circles! I kept passing the same dog walkers. 😁

After many false alarms, DH phoned, just as I had sat down with a Creme Egg and a cuppa. 🤬
I'm in the discharge lounge ( no warning), can you come and get me?
Fortunately, DD had taken a half day in case I needed her. The Discharge Lounge is difficult to access and you are allowed to wait with the ambulances.
We ended up, being trapped between two of them.
DH strolled out, without a care in the world, when DD was stressing about how to extricate herself. 🤣

Today, I have my usual Parish stuff, website bulletin etc.
Tomorrow is the very busy Cemetery Mass, for which were are responsible.
The P.P was panicking, for he had no idea, what was required.
Much to his relief, I had already set up everything, after the previous one. I just need to do a check today.

Dollie and her parents visited last night, DS looked awful.
He is under phenomenal stress at work, DIL is still recovering and he is not dealing with what has happened to her at all and he and DH are very close. I am so worried about him.
My darling wee Dollie was so low, everything that has been happening is overwhelming her. She thought her mum was going to die and now her beloved Papa. 😪

I wish you all a pleasant day and hope Roses hears something soon.

Ziplok Sat 11-Apr-26 08:53:56

Good morning everyone,

It’s wet and grey today, a big change from yesterday.

I hope your DH is improving Marydoll 💐.

Cramp is horrible, isn’t it greyduster. I often get it at night in my foot and big toes.

I hope you feel better soon Madeleine, and that your back becomes less sore with using the heat pack GrannyGravy13

Good Morning,

Started my morning very early in Spain, where it rained or was cloudy the whole four days we were there and now home in slightly less cloudy and slightly more chilly Essex.

Enjoy your weekend one and all 🥀🥀🩷

Good Morning from a grey, wet and windy Durham. I washed DD2’s towels last night, but they might have to be tumbled dry today. I have no plans, while I struggle on with this cold - week 3 now.
I brought Little Dog home with me yesterday and enjoyed a nice walk with him later. I don’t think today’s will be as pleasant.
I hope things improve MD soon. It sounds as if MrMD is going to have to make an effort with his health. Families are such a worry at times.
💐Roses the waiting must be torture.

Best wishes to all. X

Susan56 Sat 11-Apr-26 09:09:18

I’m glad to hear your DH H is back home Marydoll but please look after yourself too.

Pantglas sends her best wishes to everyone😊

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Sat 11-Apr-26 09:15:00

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s wet and windy with a forecast of only 11°C brr! I could go on the bus to see my stepfather but may suffice with our usual daily telephone call and hunker down with a film this afternoon. 😉

Marydoll Sat 11-Apr-26 09:30:41

MaryDoll's DH, Chapter two.

I went downstairs to take DH's BP, an hour after his medication.
I couldn't understand why his BP had gone up.
He hadn't taken the pills, because he would take them, when he was ready..
Oh and his BP is up, because I am nagging.🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

The next time you hear from me, it might be on prison notepaper.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Sat 11-Apr-26 09:39:04

Oh that did make me chuckle Marydoll! You can be very witty 😂

Good morning from Sunnyside sandhills northwest coast. I was tired yesterday after my day coach trip. Not sure why I’m always so tired after them, but it’s a long day and the picking up and dropping off takes forever…
A chap was dropped off just before our destination to see his brother it seemed. When he returned I asked him if he had enjoyed seeing his brother and he replied that he had been to his grave. Oops.

Anyway, I went into town yesterday morning, did a bit of shopping and had a nice lunch, ham omelette, my back complaining all the while.
Flying DD is driving up from the south today and will stay for a few days, catching up with friends etc.

Thoughts to Roses and all🌺
I’ll try to post my photo from my little trip again.

Good morning from Stockport
I am up late after a disturbed night and weird dreams, not upsetting ,just weird.
I am going to the Opticians this morning, my eyesight is getting worse.
I have very little vision in one eye and now Dry AMD in the other.
I hope I can get some reassurance and a new prescription.
Hope all is ok with poorlies and their partners.
