Good morning from an as yet dry Bristol. Heavy showers are forecast…
Yesterday was unusual. It seems peculiar not Togo to Spanish. I went to meet a church building chap to talk about the “sound panels” in the hall. They have little bits of thread woven in, a magnet to small children who pull them off. He wanted to replace the bits. I started todo so, but decided that a) it would look horrible as neither the colours nir the texture matched, b) with nice and inexpensive fabric without the threads, it would take less time to replace and no bits were available to pull out. We took an executive decision to do it without going through the PCC.
I came home and changed the bed, hung the washing out ,did various bits and pieces around the flat, etc.
Today, I have church coffee and chat, quiet afternoon.
I hope MD’s DH has stabilised and is feeling better, and roses has quick attention. Hugs 🫂
May you all have a quiet, uneventful, gentle weekend.

Good morning from Malta where we expect another sunny day with a high of 29°C.

Had a good day yesterday watching tennis, having my weekly wash and blow, a trip to Lidl and home in time to watch Alcaraz.

The boys and DD3 visited and the new playroom was a great success. They really enjoyed it and so did DD3 and I!

However, DD3 told me that DD1 in Washington DC had been in hospital with Covid. I knew she was unwell as I’d been texting her, but she told her sister not to tell me. I do wish they wouldn’t try to keep things from me as I worry anyway so would rather be kept in the picture.

Anyway, she’d had VIP treatment since she’s a member of staff, nice private room and is now home on steroids and strong medication. Poor lass is on her own apart from her two dogs, it’s no joke when you are unwell.

Thank you or your nice comments yesterday. grandMattie the banner was from Temu! There was another space themed one for DGS2 which read ‘Reach FOUR the stars’ but I failed to get a photograph without children’s faces in it and I am not at liberty to post them,

How sad to hear about your DH’s twin brothers Ashcombe. It must be hard for the surviving twin.😔

I’ve had an awful night, dry eyes and excruciating backache have woken me on and off interspersed with weird and upsetting dreams.

I hope Marydoll’s DH is doing better today. Thank goodness he was taken into hospital where they can help him. Some people do seem to have to carry a huge burden, it’s all you need with everything else going on.🙏🏻

I’m going to attempt to clean the backyard today so the boys can play outside. It’s full of Saharan sand so will need a lot of scrubbing. My back might not allow me to do a perfect job, unfortunately.

The tennis semifinals start at 1.30 our time, so I shall be glued and nervous as a kitten!😂

Wishing a good day to you all☀️

I’m so sorry about your DD, bellas. My lot also keep things from me; it infuriates me when I find out. Makes me feel either unable to cope (which I can) and/or unable to make my own decisions…
I hope she gets better soon, without sequale. ❤️

Ashcombe Sat 11-Apr-26 06:23:17

Good morning from a fine but chilly Torbay with the possibility of rain later.

Thank you for your kind words about DH's late brother, Bellasnana. He and his twin were close in life so it must have been tough. The remaining twin lives in Derbyshire so we rarely meet. I hope your DD1 continues to recover well - so hard when they live afar off. Regarding dry eyes, I use moisturising drops routinely in mine on the advice of my optician. Perhaps you already do.

What a worry for you, Marydoll! I hope DH is soon well enough to come home. Take care of yourself, too.

Yesterday, I thoroughly enjoyed my test drive in the Ford Puma Vignale and look forward to taking ownership of it on Wednesday. Although I’ve been glad to have a hire car, I shan’t miss the Nissan Juke! The Puma felt similar to the Fiesta and is very responsive!

Coffee Morning at church today before pottering at home.

Have a good weekend! 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Good morning from s somerset, it is going to be very windy today with sun and showers

The wind and rain hammering my windows woke me up, I did get back to sleep but was thinking I would put my whirly washing post into the garage. That back and forth motion can eventually break the whirly post as happened to dd. It only takes me a minute to lift it out of its tube which I concreted into the ground, one of the first jobs I did when I moved in

It was a good day yesterday, loads of washing done and dried outside, tea breaks sitting on a bench as it was warm enough

I cannot say what I will be doing today but will be quietly active as usual

MD I am hoping to hear good news about your DH today

Susan56 Sat 11-Apr-26 06:44:57

Good morning from Shropshire.A day of sunshine and showers forecast.

DD didn’t collect the children until late afternoon but they were very good.We hadn’t arranged to go anywhere as we had thought they were going home at lunchtime but kept busy with crafts, chess, Lego and playing outside.

Today I will make sure laundry and housework are up to date as we have something on every day this week.I operate better knowing everything is ship shape at home.

Hoping that Marydoll has better news about her DH today and that Roses hears about her appointment very soon.

Wishing everyone a good day 🌷🦩

RosesandLilac Sat 11-Apr-26 06:48:18

Good morning, it’s lashing down with rain here in south Glos, a miserable looking start to the weekend.
The washing dried nicely yesterday, some ironing to do this morning and I’ll get it all put away.
A quiet day for me, I hope everything goes well for you all x

Good morning from an overcast Leicestershire.

I survived Pilates yesterday and it seems to have helped my back pain.
Must do admin today. I need to claim for 4 mis-sold PCP agreements and medical insurance.

I hope Marydoll has better news for us.
Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Good morning from a mild, calm Cornwall where I'm watching Lego Masters Australia while enjoying a big mug of coffee. A lovely gentle day yesterday with my 10 year old granddaughter. We chilled, chatted and enjoyed each other's company. The most active thing we did was to cover a bench in cartoons cut from a book. She applied the PVA and I applied the images.

Today I'm off on a bus to a nearby-ish village art exhibition. Am debating whether to start painting again and join their weekly art group. Then back home to meet my sons and families to watch the latest Mario movie; an unexpected invitation from my sons late last night.

I do hope things improve for you and your husband today Marydoll.

Grandmabatty Sat 11-Apr-26 06:57:05

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 5° and pouring rain. The heating is on. Hopefully it will clear later. Susan I like to have things all organised and tidy too. Ashcombe happy motoring! Bellasnana I'm sorry to hear that your dd was so unwell.
Yesterday was fairly quiet except for an unexpected visit from dd and the boys. It's always lovely to see them. I pottered about the rest of the day.
Today I have a tesco delivery later. In the meantime I intend to clear out and tidy the boys' bedroom. I'll strip the bed and get the sheets etc washed. Then polishing and hoovering. Mundane but necessary activities. Dinner will be pie, chips and beans. Have a good day all.

Good morning from Sheffield

I am meeting my shopaholic sister this morning. We will go to our local Boundry Mills.
I love her to bits but she encourages me to spend money. We will have a cuppa and a good chat too. She has so many problems with her wayward children. I will see if things are a bit calmer for her today.

I will get back in time to enjoy an empty. It’s match day for DH.

A relaxing evening, BGT and Celebrity GMOH.
I know it’s mindless but easy watching.

Take care everyone flowers

Melanie61 Sat 11-Apr-26 07:00:40

Hoping Marydoll DH is improved today

ginny Sat 11-Apr-26 07:02:18

Good morning.
We are settling into our cruise , all very comfortable and good food and a show last night.
We are now in the bay of Biscay and it is a bit rollercoasterry! Should settle soon.
Plenty to do on board during today and food willpower will be required.
Hope Marydolls DH gets sorted and she looks after herself.
Wishing all a good day.

Ladyleftfieldlover Sat 11-Apr-26 07:03:49

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

I’m off to another Study Day in Oxford. This time on Dystopian Literature!

Have a good day everyone. I hope MD has good news about her OH.

kittylester Sat 11-Apr-26 07:19:32

Good morning all from my bit of Leicestershire where it is also overcast.

Today we are taking Bertie birthday shopping. He wants to buy 'clothes' rather than sportswear - he's growing up. And, Nando's for lunch!

I had a lovely time with DS1 yesterday. We haven't had our regular lunch meet ups for a while so had a great catchup.

DD1 and Co walked up and down Snowden yesterday to mark the 4th anniversary of her mastectomy.

Have the best day possible everyone.

luluaugust Sat 11-Apr-26 07:21:59

Good morning from a grey W Kent. We are out today with DS and DIL plus GS3 for DH’s belated birthday treat. I think we are going to Sandwich for lunch, quite a drive for us.
I also hope Marydoll’s DH is much better today and also thinking of Bella’s DD
Best wishes to all

WhiteSwan63 Sat 11-Apr-26 07:27:43

Good morning from London and I think we have a shower this morning.

Yesterday was a super day. We met my DSIS and DBIL in Boxhall the streetfood venue and I had a delicious Thai lunch. We spent the rest of the day catching up and laughing so much. ABBA Voyage was off the scale amazing were we actually watching ABBA on stage again. Fascinating, I’ve been googling how it was done. My DH said it’s the best concert he’s ever been to closely followed by War of the worlds.

Today we are meeting sister and brother in law at their hotel at Bank and heading to Battersea Power station to see the changes there. Tonight we are at a close up magic experience with a meal included. That will be fascinating and fun I think. I love magic shows.

Hoping to hear there is improvement with Marydolls DH.

Wishing a lovely Saturday for everyone with many moments of joy🌼

brook2704 Sat 11-Apr-26 07:28:33

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s grey and looks like we’ve had some overnight rain
Sorry to hear your DD has been so unwell Bellas especially being on her own, I hope she’s fully recovered soon
I was planning on getting some gardening done today if the weather dries up. Then this evening I’m off out to a line dancing social event at the local village hall. There’s lots of dancing, bring your own drinks and nibbles and a live singer tonight too. I’m looking forward to spending the evening with a friendly group of ladies with lots of fun and laughter
Hoping Marydolls DH is much better
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Redcar Sat 11-Apr-26 07:29:35

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. It’s cloudy and 10 degrees out, drizzle is forecast.
Yesterday felt chilly even in the sunshine. Bingo at lunchtime was fun but no winnings unfortunately. Then collected my dementia friends medication from the pharmacy.
For some reason I slept badly and am very stiff this morning, hope it eases as I’m due to drive to DD1s for a family get together and catch up before my niece and great nephew fly back to Oz next week.
I hope you enjoy your cruise Ginny and that the Bay of Biscay calms down soon.

bellasnana I hope your DD soon makes a full recovery from COVID. It’s obviously still a very unpleasant virus and it’s disturbing that it’s still around.

melanie have a good time with your sister.

I hope there is better news from marydoll today and that her DH is recovering now.

Thinking of all those who are struggling and hoping that their struggles get easier.

Have the best Saturday you can everyone.

BlueSapphire Sat 11-Apr-26 07:29:36

Good morning everyone from an overcast Northampton; drizzly rain is expected, but I shall still head out.

Yesterday was pleasant in the sunshine, but there was a cool wind. I managed to get my bits and pieces at the shops, and successfully changed my dress for a smaller size in Next, then had a coffee in Costa. Lots of students in there taking up whole tables with their laptops.

This morning I am off on the bus to visit a garden centre which has a footwear franchise; two weeks ago I ordered a pair of sandals to be delivered there for me to pick up. I got no confirmation e-mail to say they had arrived so yesterday phoned them up to find out they had been in store since the end of March. I can have a jolly good browse around and have a coffee (and cake!) in the cafe. There is a Waitrose next door so will have a look round there too.

Will spend this afternoon with the Saturday newspaper.

Hope that Marydoll 's DH is improving and gets sorted.

Have a lovely cruise ginny; I am sure you will if I am right about the ship you are on! I am on her in October.

Wishing all a pleasant day.

GrandmaC47 Sat 11-Apr-26 07:34:57

Hoping your dd is soon feeling better, Bellasnana and that Marydoll has better news.
I was thinking how often we don’t tell our children about our worries or illnesses, but get upset when they don’t tell us of theirs.
Back to the bookkeeping today, sitting at the desk is not doing my back any good.
It’s dull and damp here in Co Durham.

Gagagran Sat 11-Apr-26 07:37:47

Good Morning all from an overcast central south coast. It's 10 degrees so not chilly. I think we are promised some showers and maybe a little sun later. Nothing we can do about that anyway!

DH is out for a coffee and cake cycle ride this morning so I shall enjoy an empty too Melanie but have one of my lists to attempt if I get round to it. My brother once gave me a round plate with " A round toit" embossed on it. Wonder where that went?

So sorry to hear of your DH's hospitalisation "Marydoll* and hope you are coping home alone and that the medics are sorting him out. You are both under a lot of stress which can't have helped his BP - or yours! Take care and fingers crossed for a big improvement for you both soon. flowers

My sister in the Isle of Man is 92 tomorrow and I have sent her a snail mail card and also set up an ecard. We don't do presents. I miss her a lot and regret the long distance between us and our health difficulties which inhibit travel to visit. She has limited hearing so phone calls are difficult.

I was very pleased to see that the astronauts got back to earth safely but not as much as their families must have been. Such brave, intrepid explorers.

Wishing everyone with struggles, troubles or worries of any kind, a calm and peaceful day with some respite. sunshine

Jaxjacky Sat 11-Apr-26 07:39:14

Morning from a dull S Hants, I do hope your daughter feels better Bellas, glad car is sorted Ashcombe.
A very efficient surgery had me in with a nurse by 9:45 yesterday, another UTI, antibiotics dispensed, I was very tired after a restless night, bed was welcomed.
MrJ going back to bowls today, he’s pleased, I’ll continue my stair climbs and patio walks for exercise this afternoon while he’s out.

Good morning from a grey Essex coast. I do believe it is due to rain later.
We went to look at carpets yesterday, goodness me there are so many to choose from, but it gave us an idea of colours.
DH still cannot see properly and has a lot of discomfort in his eye. He has an appointment next Tuesday, hoping all will be well.
No real plans today but I'm sure coffee will be drunk this morning and football will be watched later, albeit with one eye.
I hope all poorlies are feeling better and everyone has the best day possible xx
