What good news šŸ‘

I believe they stab the bull before it goes into the ring just for starters ā˜¹ļø

Animal cruelty cannot be used as entertainment in my view.

PS the bull’s horn went up his rectum. I saw the photo of this today.

^It's a personal attack.^

That's not how I read it.

Oh, so calling another poster ^weird is not a personal attack?

"So personally I think it’s you that’s weird In fact he s not dead so perhaps he ll think things over while his shredded axxx is a reminder"

Disgraceful Bluebelle how could you even think that. My partner told me, and I looked it up that some gangs were shooting people up the arse because it messed up the whole of their lives. Anal pain us unbearable.

Smileless2012 Wed 22-Apr-26 22:07:48

No one was called weird. Weird! was in reference to the post, not the poster.

No it was a direct reference to the poster.

Bluebelle said: So personally I think it’s you that’s weird.

The assumption seems to be by some that, if a poster is not celebrating the fact that someone has been very badly injured by the bull, they are in favour of bull-fighting.

That is just a complete non-sequitur.

I would never ever want to see anyone hurt or killed but if they •choose• a ā€˜torturing and killing career’ for the adulation of the crowd and for probably a lot of money are they worth caring about
How many animals has this man tortured over the years what does it say about him and all the people that pay money to go and watch an animal tortured… so if the glove is suddenly on the other hand I say that’s karma
I m certainly not cheering for this guys death or injury, but seeing as it’s happened
I m saying I m shedding no tears for him at all, now he ll have time to reflect on his ā€˜career’
The poor animal stood no chance it would be tortured and killed any way
Barbaric and he and all the rest of them don’t deserve any sympathy
And while I m on my hobby horse Those bull runs in the street are hideous too and I can’t believe they are still allowed What chance has the human race when people pay to watch or take part in sheer torture

Write to the Spanish Government.

What type of person wants to be a matador? One who has no concerns for inflicting pain and suffering on animals that cannot escape. Someone who believes they are a fantastic human being for "defeating " an already confused, frightened, disoriented and disabled animal before it faces the matador. So, I really do not have any sympathy for a matador who gets injured or killed in a bull ring and I'm sorry if that offends you but that is how I feel. I am not gloating and I don't feel happy about it but they chose their "job" as a matador, the bull was forced into the ring in a tormented state and trying its best to survive an horrific attack from a human being. Poor bull. Just cruel and so very outdated.

Eloethan Wed 22-Apr-26 23:54:45

I would not wish an injury on anyone but I think bull fighting is very wrong and should be banned. As others have said, the bull has no choice but humans do.

Eloethan Wed 22-Apr-26 23:55:17

The people watching it are as bad, if not worse, than the bullfighter.

Usually ones with a family connection I think. In places like Spain, Mexico, or Colombia, becoming a matador is often a family legacy - the sons or grandsons of famous toreros, raised to believe the bullring is the center of the universe.

WithNobsOnIt Thu 23-Apr-26 06:38:59

Sound like divine retribution for the bull if you ask me.

Ole!

I don’t condone bull fighting, though I also am not glad a matador got injured.

Time is right now to stop all blood ā€œsportsā€, they belong firmly in the past.

Write to the Spanish Government.

I have done - several times, in fact, over many years and never got so much as a response!

I agree it should be banned Basgetti but does that excuse people saying good and putting emojis. Why rejoice in it. A man will never be the same again.

Gloating over any suffering, to humans or animals, is abhorrent. And says a lot about the people who delight in the pain of others.

It certainly does.

I agree, with both comments.

NotSpaghetti Thu 23-Apr-26 09:07:39

I read that matadors expect regular "gorings" - every few seasons at least. Catalonia and parts of Mexico have banned it as public opinion is turning against it.
Thank goodness I say.

I suppose part of the trouble is it's not viewed as a "sport" as people upthread seem to say/call it , but it is considered to be an art form. It's thought of more like a deadly, tragic (in the Greek sense) ballet.

Why is this even considered a form of entertainment? Just horriblesad

Because it is traditional and many Spaniards (and tourists) revere traditions.

Caleo Thu 23-Apr-26 09:21:22

Matadors are heroes to those who go to the corrida, Moreover injured or killed matadors are martyrs.

Bullfights are profitable for the men who breed the fighting bulls, a special breed .

Some people must find it very hard to breathe, what with the rarefied air up there on their moral high ground.

Much of it performative - who can be judged the most righteous.

Hooray the matador got his just desserts. Serves him right. The torture of animals is sick and those that indulge in such appalling acts aren’t deserving of sympathy. Ditto the bull runs where the horns are set on fire, fireworks thrown at the bulls and more, all for a fun day out. I rejoice every time I see someone gored and tossed by the bulls.

Hopefully the more that get killed or injured the sooner it’s banned.

RosiesMawagain Thu 23-Apr-26 10:01:56

I must admit I do not know of ANY matadors, famous or otherwise so this news item simply passed me by.

Well that is is exactly.

I do not have any sympathy for the matador (although the thought of the injury makes me cringe!) and I think it's an out-dated and horrific form of entertainment.

However, the gloating and glee is sickening too.

Spain is another country. They do things differently there.

There must be a movement in Spain against bull-fighting as so many are now against the practice.
Is there an online petition?

Don’t let it bother you.
Those who celebrate or rejoice in pain inflicted on others, whether it’s the bull or the matador, show exactly what they’re like.

I've no idea. As I say, I first wrote a letter of protest when I was just a child and wrote several since, but I confess I've not looked into the situation more recently. With the advent of online petitions, I'd be surprised if there wasn't something. Will do a bit of delving...

Is this newsto you? Known this is what they did to bulls for years. Mostly banned in Spain now, thank goodness. šŸ™
