As the MSM cannot resist calling out Tommy Robinson’s real name, why does Polanski get a free pass?

Just curious. 🤔

How can it be unfair cossy? Both statements are entirely true and in the public domain.
The comment about Polanski isn't true, though. Yes, he did the original 'hypnotherapy' with a Sun journalist who was writing an article in 2013. It was she who claimed that her breasts had been enlarged, on no evidence at all apart from her say so. In one interview dredged up from a local paper Polanski appeared to believe that it was possible but there is absolutely no evidence at all that he scammed any women into believing he could make their breasts grow bigger through hypnotism.

The whole thing has been grossly exaggerated.”

Thank you, this was my point.

I do find them equally repellent albeit for different reasons, but as others have said upthread, Polanski is merely reverting his original family name which was anglicised by his father.
The other one does not even warrant a mention.

This thread seems to have gone off down a sideline. Zack Polanski has no criminal convictions, whereas Tommy Robinson has a number. I’m not a supporter of either of them, but it does explain why Tommy Robinson is known as Yaxley-Lennon, because he has multiple aliases and been convicted, when real names are used in court.

👍

Nor me FriedGreen; they're equally vile and untrustworthy; just on opposite sides of the same spectrum.

Except that one has multiple convictions for criminal offences
including violence, and the other doesn’t. They are not equally vile in that respect.

I still don’t know, except for relatively lately, too much about Polanski.

So for me, the jury is still out.

Tommy Robinson aka several other names, has been in the news since 2011,
“On 29 September 2011, Robinson was convicted of common assault after headbutting a fellow EDL member at a rally in Blackburn in April that year.”

He now has several other criminal convictions and even more arrests.

Polanski isn’t a criminal, but I would say he, and his party’s updated policies do not show much fiscal responsibility.

Internet shows main policies @ 2026 below. Many of them are great, if we afford them. All a little bit pie in the sky.

*Updated 2026 Green Party policies, particularly highlighted in the Wales Green Party 2026 manifesto and upcoming local election strategies, focus on massive cost-of-living relief, economic restructuring, and radical environmental action. Key proposals include a national rent freeze, replacing council tax with a land value tax, a £15-an-hour minimum wage, and public ownership of water companies.

I don't agree with all the economic policies you've detailed, *
Cossy*. but from what I've read, Zak has a good basic understanding of the way money is created and circulates in the economy and isn't constrained by the fear of 'markets'. This may not agree with the conventional narrative but has a lot of sound support from reputable heterodox economists.

What actual racist stuff has Tommy Robinson actually said. It's grooming gangs he protests about

Wyllow3 Sat 02-May-26 01:43:07

"Key History of Robinson's Racism and Islamophobia:

British National Party (BNP):
Robinson was a member of the openly racist and fascist BNP in 2004-2005, which he later claimed was for finding a way to address "Islamist extremist problems".English Defence League (EDL): He co-founded the EDL in 2009, a far-right movement known for Islamophobic protests and violence, which he led until 2013.

Targeting Muslims: Robinson has consistently aimed his rhetoric at Muslims, describing them as "enemy combatants" and calling for the mass deportation of "adult male Muslims"
from Europe.

Racial Slurs & Antisemitism: Reports indicate he has used racist slurs, including in a 2019 leaked video where he referred to a taxi driver using a derogatory term.

He has also been accused of promoting antisemetic conspiracies in more recent years.

2024 UK Riots Involvement: In 2024, he was accused of spreading misinformation that directly fueled far-right, anti-Muslim riots across the UK.

Court Actions and Scandals:

Libel Case (2021): Robinson was ordered to pay in libel damages, plus significant legal costs, to a Syrian refugee (Jamal Hijazi) after making false claims that the teenager had attacked "young English girls".

Contempt of Court: He has been jailed multiple times for contempt of court, including for filming outside a child sexual exploitation trial, which threatened to collapse the case.

Assault Conviction: In 2005, he was convicted of assault occasioning actual bodily harm

Yes, he joined in the business of the grooming gangs, but those of us aware of his history * as it happened* are well aware of his long history.

This is a social media post from him in 2012

Thanks Wyllow, that's a handy list.
