Good morning everyone from Gatwick airport. We are leaving at 8.30 though our hotel is just about on the runway so it’s not far in the provided transport.

In the night I checked on the care app I have for my uncle to see he was taken into hospital at 3am. I’ve been checking day to day and he’s still not well. Hoping it’s just something like a water infection. Mum will call the hospital this morning. I’m leaving her in the hands of my brother.
There is flooding in DSs province and as we land tomorrow there are thunderstorms forcast. He said we may be spending our time in the malls rather than the parks for a few days. Their parks are beautiful.

Wishing you all well and hope there will be sunshine and blue skies in your day today. 🌼

Good morning from sunny Suffolk. Much as we are enjoying this lovely weather, the garden desperately needs some rain. I’ve been watering the pots with a watering can for the last few evenings but think it’s time to get the hose out and water the flower beds and border as well.

I have a blood test at midday, part of my annual review for my underactive thyroid, spotted by my London dentist at the time 50 years ago. Never a problem then or since.

Baubles like you I find there is more ironing to do in the summer,my least favourite job,but at least DH’s shirts have short sleeves and no cuffs!

Hope today is a good one for all.

Good morning from a sunny W Kent. An easy journey back from Norfolk yesterday, I did more driving than I usually do and this morning my back is bad. The cleaner should be here soon but I will stick with ironing today.
How sad about your vicar Ash
Thoughts with all struggling along

Good morning from a sunny Essex coast.
We have had a full on weekend and the 'do' yesterday went very well with lots of attendees.
Most of the food was eaten and we are hoping for a good amount from the bar. I'll count the money later.
The downside is I can barely move as my back is very painful.
This morning we are going to a local garden centre for brunch with some friends.
DH is still struggling and gets very frustrated at not being able to do a lot. Only another 10 days before his third transplant.
Wishing you all a pleasant Monday xx

Ashcombe that is such devastating news regarding your priest. Too young by far and my heart goes out to him and all who know him. Life can be so cruel. One can only hope his true faith sustains him in the weeks ahead. 💐

Good morning from a sunny warm Cambridgeshire. I will get out for a walk this morning and then gardening planned after lunch. I really need to focus on losing a few pounds as only three weeks until we go away on holiday.

Thinking about Madeleine and hoping she is well.

Another week begins and hope you hear something very soon RandL

Hope everyone has a good day🌷

Good morning all, it's 6°C n Glasgow.

I have woken with excrutiating pains in my left leg, hip to roes. I think I may have overdone things yesterday.

Susan, that must be so worrying and annoying.

Belated birthday greetings, Llfl. I hope you had a lovely day.

Yesterday was rather stressful. There was not a seat to be had at 10am Mass.
I had a rather unpleasant altercation with a young couple( I had taught the man and knew the family well.) They arrived at the last minute and parked their large pram in front of the main exit doors, squeezing themselves in beside the choir.
When I asked them to move, because it was a health and safety issue, they stormed out, then the young woman had a full blown meltdown, saying I had embarrassed her. It was so ridiculous.
I offered to find them a seat, but they insisted the pram had to stay with them, which was impossible.
They came up with all sorts of ridiculous and unreasonable arguments, for the parish being at fault and no seats being available. I suggested, that if they had come in time, they would have been able to obtain a seat.
She then shouted at me, that I didn't know what was going on in her life.
I replied that the same applied to my life! I was in tears.

We did have a few lighter moments. At the later Mass, a lady, whom I know well, ( I taught her daughter) arrived with her mother in a wheelchair, complete with oxygen tank. The P.P insisted, that she sit in the front row. All through Mass, there was a very loud noise, like a text being delivered. The young curate was starting to get annoyed. It was only at the end of Mass, that I realised, it had been the alarm on her oxygen tank.
She had been sitting on the tube!!!

Her daughter came to me to say that, they hadn't wanted to sit at the front, due to the oxygen and the proximity of the candles, but the P,P had insisted.
Cue a discussion with an already stressed P.P. Could I get him to understand, how concerned the lady was.

At the end of Mass, a lady I have never seen before, came to us, to give us a long lecture about candle safety. The candles on the altar, were apparently not safe. We could not get rid of her, despite advising her to speak to the P.P.
We were properly scunnered, ( a good Scottish word), by the time we left.

What really annoys me, is that not one of the complainers and moaners, had lifted a single finger to help with the move from the church, However, these good Christian people are very quick to criticise. 😪

However, something really uplifting happened. I was trying to deal with an issue in the foyer, when I heard applause. Someone said to me, that it must be nice to be appreciated. I had no idea, what they meant.
Apparently, the P.P had announced, the move wouldn't have happened, if it hadn't been for the young sacristan and myself.
The congregation, then gave a round of applause. 😊

When I got home, I decided to do a cull. I took bags on Friday to the charity shop and have another three today. After losing so much weight, when I was so unwell, I have put it all (and more) back on. 😪
I haven't even touched the summer stuff.

I also managed a little weeding before dinner, To my surprise, DH had weeded my orchard. He is taking his gentle activity seriously. He never weeds!
However, his BP is stuck at 180.😪

I'm off to church to tidy up after the weekend. I am becoming a groupie.😄
DH has offered to come to the charity shop and pick up a Sainsbury's parcel with me. I think he just wants out. There is a first time for everyone.

I wish you all pleasant day.

Marydoll Mon 27-Apr-26 08:21:01

Ash, I meant to mention your vicar, The poor han, must be the most awful pain.😪

Good morning to you all from the sunny seaside in West Sussex and another beautiful day is promised. My job for the day is sorting out this aggravating hose pipe I bought two weeks ago. I can never seem to get an effective one and this one had excellent reviews but it’s not doing it for me. I’m unable this year to carry the more effective watering cans and was relying on much smaller ones with more frequent trips but I can’t do that forever. So that’s today’s task but I already know I’ll just be getting a feeble drip.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it promises to be another lovely day!

Yesterday was spent with 3 friends sorting through my "library" . It was tiring but fun.
A van will come this week to take the bulk to a book charity and the few potentially valuable ones are being sold separately.

I took a boot full of magazines and paper to the dump only to find the gates closed early as everyone is Spring cleaning so all the skips were full.

Today someone is coming to take away the Gypsy caravan, I hope.

We came across King James in a wee cottage in the garden. I think DH must have rescued him from a skip. Sigh!

Sad news about your young priest Ash.
Sorry about that scene at your church Marydoll but well done for everything you have achieved despite constant pain.

I hope everyone has something to look forward to.

Good morning from Cloudy Chambers northwest coast.
My sister is coming up from London for a few days this week so I spent time sorting out my spare room yesterday. I’m using it as a dressing room and moved lots of clothes etc. I was pleased to hear that she can also join my DD and me for a few days in Cornwall in June.

I worked on new music for the opera co and meant to go to an open mic in the evening, but got too comfortable reading.
I’ll go to a folk sing a round this afternoon.

Sad news Ashcombe and thoughts to all🌺

Good morning, I haven’t read your posts yet, will do later 👍

Off to the gym, then some local shopping.

The Imp is here for his sleepover tonight, no doubt he will be super excited s it’s his mum’s birthday tomorrow and he loves a cake and candles…

Good morning from sunny coastal West Sussex.
I am trying to be inspired by all the accounts of declutterring and spring cleaning to do some of that here. Yesterday I decided I really didn’t need to keep two of my mother’s knitted tea cosies - she died in 2008 and I never use them. I will try not to change my mind before I get them to a charity shop.

Sea Cadet DGS did not win in the piping competition that he practised so hard for 🥲. He is back home and has his final school exams in the next few weeks so at least his brain should be freed up for some revision.

We are plagued by fruit flies at the moment. I have topped the garden compost bin up with soil and will take the veg peelings etc to the allotment bin.
Marzipan, we have an echium growing at the allotment. I have nurtured it through two winters and I think it is finally going to flower. Here’s a photo (I hope).

Good morning from Stockport.
The cloud cover is just breaking up and blue sky appearing.
I didn’t appreciate the good weather yesterday as I was still feeling the effects of the Covid booster on Thursday.
I am so undecided about everything at the present, lots of little jobs need doing and I have neither the will or the energy to do them.
I am trying to adjust to a new normal in my life and finding it hard.
I hope you all find some sunshine in your life today.
