This evening it’s chicken risotto as I needed to use up some leeks and yesterday’s roast chicken.

It’s happily cooking in the Thermomix whilst I waste time on SM!

Risotto is my go to comfort food, I just love it and I always have ingredients to cobble one together.

I think 'supper' is used more in the south of England and 'dinner' or 'tea' up north.
I was in a dilemma when a friend who had moved from the south invited me to supper as supper had always been toast or tea and biscuits.
My dinner/supper/tea tonight will be quiche with lots of vegetables but no potatoes.

Probably a cauliflower/broccoli/macaroni cheese, extra cheese and breadcrumbs on top, whack under the grill.

Or, if I’m feeling lazier than usual, Young’s Jumbo fish fingers with baby potatoes and whatever salad I can rustle up.

Whichever I don’t do, will be for tomorrow.

Duck with plum sauce from the freezer. I made loads of bags of plum sauce from the plums on our allotment last year. Sadly, this year, the tree doesn't look as if there will be many plums this year.

What delicious and varied meals!

Tonight is seat trout, salad, new potatoes, asparagus and hollandaise, I need to persuade my husband to make the hollandaise sauce for me in the Thermomix, it’s so utterly delicious.

We eat our main meal at lunchtime so supper is DIY.
Yesterday I had a chicken sandwich with mayonnaise and french mustard 😋

Tonight? No idea but I’ve got some belly pork, pakchoi and loads of mushrooms in the fridge. A stir fry perhaps?

I was thinking about buying a Termomix?
Will I have difficulties learning to use one?
I bought an airfryer which I haven’t made full use of?

This is embarrassing, but I'm having M & S poached eggs that you finish in the microwave, plonked on wholemeal toast with a dollop of Heinz tomato ketchup. My excuse is that I have too much work to catch up on!

Day three of using a slow cooked piece of brisket.
I plan to cut up what’s left into small pieces, have with vegetable rice with some salsa mixed in.
All your meals sound fab

DH is out so I am having a fish finger sandwich all f with a big bowl of mixed salad, yummy.

Swap the salad for some fries and really indulge yourself, what time shall I arrive?

Think it depends on where you live Bohemian. I grew up in Yorkshire and like you was familiar with breakfast, dinner then tea. In the unlikely event we were treated to supper it would have been a biscuit/ piece if cake.
Now I think of breakfast, lunch and then tea! Unless friends come for an evening meal it is then dinner !

Venison (roe deer) fillets with mushrooms, onions, peas and dauphinois potatoes. Yummy.

Greciangirl Tue 28-Apr-26 15:00:06

Breakfast, lunch and dinner here.

And we’re not posh either.

Don’t bother with supper as usually full up from dinner.

Greciangirl Tue 28-Apr-26 15:03:54

What is a Thermomix? Never heard of it.

Mince, tatties and broccoli. The mince was a 750g pack from M & S, and use by date today. So, cooked it today, and having some, and freezing the rest.

Home-made macaroni cheese from the freezer

a) because I love it

b) because I only have to put it in the oven after an afternoon of gardening
and
c) because I love it!

The Thermomix is imo very simple to use, obviously you need an internet connection.
It took me about 20 minutes to set it up and to put the app on my phone and iPad.
It’s so simple to choose your recipe then literally just follow the instructions.
This morning I whipped bread rolls then carrot and ginger
soup.
Easy.

This article explains everything.

The price isn’t for the faint hearted but it is the best thing I have ever bought.

Tomorrow I have planned

Poached egg on toast
Bolognaise lentil soup
Marinated salmon fillet with summer salsa

Mollygo Tue 28-Apr-26 16:21:08

Salmon, mixed veg, (carrots, broccoli, cabbage and peas) crispy potato slices.
Dessert (if it works out OK), lemon cheesecake. If it doesn’t, then fresh fruit salad.
