Good morning everyone from south Manchester where we have a gorgeous sunny morning and Alexa tells me a the sunshine will be all day with a high of 18°C. Lovely.

I have my yoga class on a mat this morning and a friend meets me there now. She too likes the idea we just pay at the door. Mind you from next week it’ll be £3 up from £2. A 50% increase 😁

It’s nice that she joins me as we get a coffee in Starbucks afterwards. A nice catch up.

Then this afternoon I’ve booked myself another sublime facial over the road at the salon and after an early tea I'm off to watch L’il Miss at her swimming lesson. I love going. I wash her (now) long hair and she chats away in the cubicle as she dries and dresses. Gosh I remember the days when I sat her on my knee and did all that for her. These years are sliding by all too rapidly - she was 9y at the end of January. 🥰

Good morning from a sunny W Kent where I shall be having a cuppa with a DF this morning and a Covid jab this afternoon. Yesterday’s visit to John Lewis for a bra fitting went really well with lots of help from a lovely lady, however, after trying on half a dozen I was exhausted and had a cuppa of tea. Impulsively I decided to go into the hairdressers and enquire if I could get a cut and blow dry, that didn’t happen when the girl told me it would be £90!
Came home and collapsed in a heap.
Best wishes

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. The sun 🌞 is up .

Yarn group this morning punctuated by my COVID Jag and a book man is coming to either look at or take some books depending on who comes.

The gypsy caravan left yesterday and local history people came to see what they want for local studies from DH vast archive.

I found and posted DS birthday present and even managed a nap before Gaelic class where a young enthusiastic man has joined.
We women are now outnumbered!
I have booked my train and hotel for DBiL funeral so the days whizz by.

I love reading about your days which never sounds mundane and sometimes awe inspiring!

Keep it up.
Hope everyone has some joy today.

Good morning all and it’s sunny but chilly here in Essex.

Shelves were put up and teapots placed. Fgt your little teapot would have fitted in nicely.

Handyman returning today to re do the brick wall, where DS pulled down the Ivy.It really does so much damage.,

DDil coming in today to go through e mails with me re our cottage sale. So many questions that I know nothing about and Dh can’t help at all. 😢.

Dd did some shopping for us yesterday but I really need to go and do a big shop. My car sits forlorn on the driveway- it’s so frustrating.

I’m very lucky to have so much help but my independence is shrivelling and I hate it.

Must cheer up.
Love to all.🌺

Well done Ash 👏

Good morning from sunny Suffolk after a dull day yesterday.

Love the teapots Gingster and although they now have a new home,I’m sure looking at them will remind you of your seaside cottage.

I have an all day Teams meeting for which I had a mound of papers to read. Normally when Ihave these monthly meetings DH is at home and takes care of the dog ie keeps her quiet if anyone comes up the drive.

He has a meeting to attend for a couple of hours midday so I hope I can keep her quiet. We don’t get post every day now but I bet we do today and it is the postman’s van which excites the dog the most. Something to do with biscuits left with the post I suspect.

Hope today is an easy day for all.

Good morning from Sheffield

It looks like being a nice day today

I am working so will not see a lot of it although I shall try and get a short walk at lunchtime
Greyduster , it’s strange how when you wake up sometimes in the morning and have a sad day , what happens overnight for that to kick in? I hope you feel better as the day goes on

I have reconnected with a very old friend and we are meeting for a drink later this evening. She is very easy to talk to so we will have a nice time
Take care everyone flowers

Online delivery Gingster? Although I know that’s not the point.

Have a pleasant Wednesday.

Good morning from a dry and sunny NE.
Yesterday I couldn't post, the website was working but when I pressed post message it wouldn't go.
Spent yesterday washing and ironing.
Thought I would walk to the postbox in the evening, it was so chilly and I can only walk very slowly.
Watched a few episodes of The other Bennet sister, not usually a fan of historical drama but enjoying this one.
My friend sent a message last night to say that her youngest sister got her test results and sadly it is the result we were dreading.
Have the best day you can.

Good morning

It’s a lovely bright start to the day, though still on the cool side. However, we are promised a warmer day today than yesterday, so I hope to continue with some outdoor jobs. There are things which need a fresh coat of paint, so will take advantage whilst it is set to be dry for the next 3 or 4 days.

I’ve a wash load to peg out, too. I think it will dry nicely outdoors today.

I hope you all have a pleasant day.

Good morning from a bright and sunny S E Essex

I am going to the gym this morning, no other plans.

(((Hugs))) to all in need 🙋‍♀️

Good morning all, it's 5°C, with a high of 19° C predicted. I have such an exciting day ahead.
I have a parachute jump this morning, followed by bungee jumping, from the famous Finnieston crane. I hope I don't fall into the River Clyde!

Yesterday, we had a pleasant morning out and even managed to book our long overdue eye tests for next week. DiL used to work there, so we are familiar with the staff.
The 66 bus journey was so entertaining. Initially we were the only passengers on it, but it soon filled up . I swear, I was the youngest person on that bus.
I had no problem eavesdropping, (a hobby of mine) due to the fact that everyone seemed to know each other and were shouting, because of deafness. Even DH could hear!! It was a rabble.

The driver seemed to know everyone and on more than one occasion, held up the bus, to allow those struggling to walk, to catch it One lady was stuck in the middle of the dual carriageway, for what seemed like ages, yet he waited patiently for her. (The other day, the police stopped the traffic in our Nairobi Street, , to let me get across the dual carriageway. This not the first time. I am becoming somewhat infamous.😂 )
The bus driver even lowered the step, to let get on easily. He was so kind.
I bet his bosses love his erratic timetable.
On the way back, someone I know from church got on, the look on DH's face was a picture. He knew what that meant.
🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣

The day before, I met the same lady in the pharmacy. I was talking to her for so long, that the pharmacist said she was installing a coffee machine just for me! 😉

I had a labyrinthis episode, when I went to bed last night, I have had a few in the last week, but this was the most severe. I have no idea why. Along with the RA and diverticulitis flare ups, I am feeling pretty rough.
I am a tad nervous about leaving the house at the moment, for I cannot rely on DH if anything happens.
His behaviour has become erratic again. He had a strop yesterday, because I could not make sense of his ongoing, written complaint with Scottish Gas.
I tried to explain, that if I couldn't make sense of it, no-one else would. 😪

My cull continues. Yesterday, I found two beautiful, unworn linen tops, bought last year on my birthday trip to the East Neuk. I am being ruthless and trying not to be sentimental.!
Why do I keep things for good???

R&L, you keep popping into my head at random moments, I feel so sad for you, ♥️
You will be surprised at how quickly, you will adapt to an automatic. It took me two days. An added bonus, I became a much more confident driver.

One will have guessed, that I was joking about my exciting life. I can hardly climb the house stairs, let alone a 175 ft tall crane.😂
I will continue my cull, today it will be dresses, of which I have many! I suspect some lucky person will benefit from my weight gain.
Minestrone soup will be made, some baking, then I will be working in the garden.

Have a lovely day folks.

Good Morning from a sunny, but cool Durham.
Yesterday turned out very busy, as I ended up with DD2, picking up DGS2 from school, on to take him to his swimming lesson, then helping her with various tasks at home. It was after 7 when I got home, then a walk with DD2’s Little Dog who is staying with me. I was tired!
Today, it’s coffee with a friend then home to deal with DD2’s laundry, some housework and a bit of gardening. A walk for Little Dog before dark too.
Good luck with the car R&L - auto for me now - my last car also had ‘flappy paddles’ but I had no desire to use them!

Best wishes to all. X

Good morning from Sunnyside sandhills northwest coast.
A good day yesterday. The music club went well, I adorned my desk with my new coloured lights and tried to keep order 😁 We have a returning member who has attended in the past and can be disruptive, but he behaved himself and just played his guitar obediently.
I was disheartened by the small amount of donations (mean b****rs) so we need to make a point of that.

I then had an appointment at the doctors to look at something new on my face. I’m being referred, not urgently as it looks harmless, but I did take a lot of sun at one time. My DD has been treated for benign skin cancers.
Tonight to the usual opera co.rehearsal and my sister arrives from London tomorrow so I’ll cook my usual chicken.

All the best for your automatic R&L, I love mine🌺

Good morning everyone from sunny Lancashire.

MrB has gone out for a motorbike ride and I am pottering and reading. We will have a walk later.

As always, thinking of those with troubles in their lives.

Wishing you a good day whatever you’re doing.🌹

Marydoll, a parachute drop and a bungee jump!!!
You amaze me .

TheWeirdoAgain60 Wed 29-Apr-26 10:45:37

Good morning, Michael12 and everyone!

It's only 10:21 am, and I've already had an altercation with a customer, about 9 am!

Our shop sells all kinds of gorgeous gifts, top of the range but not stupidly expensive. We're independent and have never been part of a big-name chain.

I had a woman coming in with a Sainsbury's/Argos receipt saying she wants a refund on a Habitat Tapered Wood Floor Lamp - Walnut & Green at £66.00 that she'd bought in January, as it doesn't work! She even dragged it in, in the box!

I politely pointed to our shop name and explained we're not Sainsburys/Argos, and also we never sell anything at all that needs any sort of batteries or electrics, we'd need various licensing and law/rules stuff, which we#ve never had and never will, we only sell non-electric stuff.

''BUT I WANT A FULL REFUND NOW, ''she shouted!

I again explained the situation and that I'm not going to refund her £66.00 from a business that has nothing to do with the place she bought it, and it's not even our receipt!

''BUT Chloe served me, and she told me I could have a refund!''

I told her I'm not Chloe, it's not my name, and I've never worked for Sainsbury's/Argos, and I'm NOT refunding her!

She jabbed her finger angrily at the receipt and said ''It says Chloe on here!''

I again told her I AM NOT CHLOE!

She got really huffy and barked '' I don't like your tone! You can't talk to me like that! I'm reporting you to the manager!''

I replied that I AM the manager! She's welcome to report me to my boss, but she'll just say the same thing I have!

It took nearly 15 minutes for the dopey witch to finally leave, muttering about rude sales assistants and our lack of intelligence!

So, everyone, how's your day going so far?!

Saturn Wed 29-Apr-26 11:05:26

Good Morning Mick & all from sunny, windy south notts. Happy birthday TheWeirdoAgain60 Sorry to hear your day got off to a bad start.
Pottering day for me & bake a cake. Hope you all have a good day smile

Usedtobeblonde Wed 29-Apr-26 11:20:54

A late Good Morning from Stockport.
I did some pottering straight after breakfast so delayed GN for a while.
It is a beautiful sunny day but quite windy, I haven’t put my nose out so I don’t know if it is a cold wind.

My friend is coming for coffee and cake this afternoon, she isn’t always with it, I didn’t see her last week so it will be interesting which M arrives.
She doesn’t see family regularly as her AC live some distance but some time next month her D and SiL are moving about 30 minutes journey away, I shall see if they are really aware.
I must do some dust rearranging, about the limit of my domestic duties now.
Have a day with some sun in it if you can.

Aldom Wed 29-Apr-26 12:28:41

Thank you for the amusing/annoying customer story Weirdo it made me laugh. grin I wonder if she ever found Sainsbury's?

Mojack26 Thu 30-Apr-26 23:00:47
