Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 7°with hazy sunshine. Rain is forecast later.
Yesterday was a fairly lazy day. I did a couple of washes and got them hung out then the dishwasher was emptied and loaded again but that was all really.
I had a spectacularly bad night's sleep last night with various pains. However I'm up early. I have an early hair cut. This afternoon I'm going to a friend's house with my usual Saturday pal who I will pick up and take back. A couple of hours of nonsense will take my mind of my aches. Have a good day all.

Good morning from s Somerset, fairly cool today and cloudy

I am having less time on my laptop, my eyes are reaping the benefits, hence me posting less frequently. I am saving my close vision for my hobbies

Much has been done during the past few days, gardening, allotment, cycling, chatting and de-cluttering. I have made great strides with clearing stuff and have also assembled and tested a big new outdoor umbrella, plus I found I could still, to my delight, manage to carry 20 kg sand bags

Several of you are in my thoughts, I think you know that

Good morning from Malta where it’s cloudy at present. The high is forecast to be 24°C.

Yesterday morning I leapt out of bed at 7am as someone was ringing my doorbell. It was one of the workmen who had come to tarmac the road and needed me to move my car!

I must say they worked hard all day, only finishing just before 10pm . I haven’t looked yet to see if it’s all done, but my front steps are covered in dust from the works so I shall have to clean them when I get up.

Had my hair done, always glad to get the roots covered up. My hairdresser was very sweet about my forgetting last week’s appointment and refused to let me pay her for it. I felt I ought to since it was my fault and she could have fitted another customer in.

Had a long chat on FaceTime with DD2 in Tennessee. She and DGD had been to the Opry and had enjoyed the singers. I love country music and wished I could have gone. Maybe I’ll get there one day.

Nothing much on today, just cleaning and pottering about. There is tennis from Rome so I might watch a bit of that later.

The premium bonds kindly gave me £275 this month so I was pleased with that. Every little helps!

So sorry you’ve had such an awful night Grandmabatty. Hope you have a good time with your friend.

Wishing a good day to you all, thoughts always with the mountaineers.💐☀️💐

Good morning from a grey Bristol. Clouds but sadly no rain; those poor farmers.
The FAB cafe went well enough but only about 60 people turned up. The group was really excellent, really engaging with the audience. I thought they were better than a previous, more popular group. We had the usual demanding people, wanting stuff that a cafe would have, forgetting that all we are is a small servery wit( just volunteers (in this case, just one - me). I had tone patient and polite 🤬
The afternoon was spent washing and ironing small tablecloths that had been put away dirty! Most are linen with crochet lace all round, a pig to iron but, at least, now they are clean.
I was wiped out and did little for the rest of the day.
Much to-img and fro-ing re.outside painting; the scaffolding is still going up and no paint applied yet. This will be done in stages, so it seems that the painters will still be here in the autumn! Oh, goody!
Today, the usual t’ai chi, an£ dinner at DD’s.
May your day b3 peaceful. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from a very overcast Black Country.

A pleasant day yesterday, after going to Mums to sort her tablets out, had a message from a friend asking if I would like to meet for coffee in the cafe in the park, that afternoon. It was lovely sitting outside in the sun albeit intermittent.

Said friend is a bit down after a fall in which she broke her right wrist in 2 places, and also hurt an eye.

Walking group walk today, no rain is forecast/

Wishing you all the best day possible

Usedtobeblonde Thu 07-May-26 06:45:28

Good morning from Stockport.
It was so good to wake up in my own bed this morning.
I had a lovely time away but oh, it was so tiring, I am going to have to accept that my being away days are coming to an end.
We were so lucky with the weather, not a spot of rain and lots of sun which wasn’t forecast before we went.
Nowhere was busy really which surprised me, I suppose it is early still in the tourist season.

I shall have a very lazy day today, for those of you for whom a lazy day is forced on you by circumstances, I shall think of you but it seems for most of the Good morning regulars being extra busy day after day is just normal.
I envy you your “get up and go”

GrannyGravy13 Thu 07-May-26 06:51:04

Good morning from an overcast S E Essex, I think we have intermittent showers forecast.

We have a man coming to adjust the stable door in the kitchen first thing. It has decided that the top does not want to be separated from the bottom 🤷‍♀️

I also have a manicure and pedicure booked, o I will catch up with the local news (gossip).

The 11yr old is here for here his weekly sleepover. I have purchased a chicken in a bag from M & S, which is rotisserie style . I have to throw it in the oven for hour 45 minutes, and hey presto when the bag is opened it should reveal a moist tasty bird. Never tried this before, but I am taking lessons from our #lazygran…

(((Hugs))) to all in need 🙋‍♀️

Good morning from South Lanarkshire why the sun is trying to break through the clouds.

Yesterday’s trip to the shops was fairly successful. I returned two tops to M&S and found another one there which, having tried on at home, I’ve decided to keep. DH also bought a pair of shorts which are actually not khaki coloured, a welcome change.

We drove from there to the Clyde Valley garden centres where we loaded the boot with plants for the hanging baskets. I’ll look forward to seeing them bloom.

Childminding today, so a busy afternoon ahead.

Wishing everyone a good day.

kittylester Thu 07-May-26 07:01:55

Morning all from a bright North Leicestershire.

I am helping at a Memory Cafe this morning having helped on an online Carer course last night. Before that we had put the new garden furniture together. It came with an umbrella but we have decided that a grey umbrella is not the most cheerful and have ordered a new one.

Have the best possible everyone.

Gelisajams Thu 07-May-26 07:06:49

Good morning all from a cloudy Morecambe Bay. An early walk in the woods then I’m gardening for a lady. Hopefully the morning will stay dry. More clearing and cleaning later ahead of the decorator coming. The house seems quite strange as more and more stuff is being stored in the spare room. I’m trying to cull as I go along but most of the culling will be done as we put everything back. Books which haven’t been opened in years yet are somehow a part of you I find are the hardest things to part with.
Thinking of all finding life difficult. Take care. thanks

Good morning Sheffield
I had a nice surprise yesterday when DGS17 turned up . He has just passed his driving test so he stopped for tea. We don’t often see this Grandson on his own so it was very nice. He’s a lovely lad
We are off to Zante in a week, so I am gathering bits of holiday stuff that I haven’t had for years ie beach towel and swimming costume not just for swimming. We haven’t been on a sun holiday for seven years since before Covid
I love going in this country on holiday, but we never seem to sit still , looking at various things. so we intend to do nothing but lay upon a sunbed
I’ll probably be bored to tears after the first day. My kindle is fully loaded

Half the family are away this week so only a few are coming for tea tonight . I am doing Jamie Olivers sweet chicken and leek pie. It’s very tasty, you make little sausage balls and put them on the top under the crust. It’s a very easy recipe, bought pastry of course
I have my osteopath appointment this morning, I’m not sure if it’s doing any good really, we will see. I’ll go up until I go away

Take care everyone flowers

RosesandLilac Thu 07-May-26 07:14:58

Good morning, it’s a rather grey start here on the hillside in south Glos, I hope it brightens up or pours with rain, we’ve had very little here. The village, 2 miles away, had torrential downpours last weekend; we had vague drizzle here.
I went to the post office and posted DGS2’s birthday card and present, along with the boys’ pocket money, tracked delivery. It was very quiet, no one around.
Housework and a grocery delivery was all that I did yesterday, I felt very tired and cold so I was in bed very early after a hot bath, with my hot water bottle and a book. I slept well so feeling better this morning.
I want to plan a bigger random embroidery today, using a tapestry frame and a linen background. I did one at a sewing weekend several years ago and loved doing it so let’s see how it goes!
I will need to get all the materials together first.
Thinking of those struggling or just having a bothersome time x

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where the sun is shining, albeit weakly. I had a shocking night. In bed by eleven, awake at two thirty and that was it until five when I dropped of again for an hour.

Yesterday I was housebound, while the energy meter engineer did his stuff in the morning and my FA bamboozled me with lots of figures and gobbledygook in the afternoon. Sitting for two and a half hours trying to look intelligent took its toll on both my meagre brain and my legs. He’ll be paying me another visit soon. Oh joy!

Walking group this morning and I expect the woods to be muddy after all the rain we’ve had. I cleaned and proofed my walking shoes last weekend and they have never looked so clean since they came out of the box! Shame to get them mucky again.

Have the best day you can, folks.

Redcar Thu 07-May-26 07:23:24

Good morning everyone from mid Essex, it’s bright at the moment and dry. A very light shower yesterday lunchtime, but nothing useful.
After my usual walk yesterday, I loaded the car and took some bags round to the local charity shop, along with the rollator I bought for my godmother last year. Sadly she couldn’t use it herself, I used it once or twice but it was too big to go easily into the boot of my car.
I’m at DD1’s today, keeping the dog company and looking after the DGDs after school. I also have a hygienist appointment early afternoon.

grandmattie I suppose that those who attend the Fab cafe music sessions don’t realise (or care?) that it’s run by volunteers and that it wouldn’t happen without you and any others? I hope the painters get going soon!

utbb I’m pleased you enjoyed your break in the Lake District, more memories made.

Have the best day you can everyone, may there be some sunshine in your lives.

glammagran Thu 07-May-26 07:26:26

Good morning from Wiltshire.

School pickup yesterday. GS1 had been on his first school trip to the Bristol Zoo Poject and was super excited to be on a coach for the fitst time. He said a gorilla had broken a branch off a tree and was dragging it round. They didn’t say much about their holiday but parents said they’d all had a great time.

Also went to Specsavers to find my new varifocals had not come in although DH’s had. Got a call later in the day to say they had so will pick up tomorrow. Same with GP appt today. Last weeks was cancelled as GP was caught up in traffic following an RTA.

Thoughts with Marydoll. I hope her DH’s BP starts coming down. I wonder why it’s proving so difficult to do so. I wish better days for everyone with problems. Have a good day everyone.

monk08 Thu 07-May-26 07:29:43

Good morning all from an overcast Black country.
Yesterday's toddlers was very busy yet again over 30 under 4yr olds.
After nearly 4mths DH driving licence has finally come back, because of his health problems he cannot renew on line and has sheets of paperwork to fill in, although they said he could still drive after licence had run out you do worry until it is returned.
DS is bringing the boys round at some time today the school is closed for voting, it will be good to see them.
Have the best day you can everyone whatever your plans and may you all find a little bit of ☀️.

Jaxjacky Thu 07-May-26 07:31:18

Morning from a bright S Hants, a good day yesterday, I drove my car just up the road and back and I’ve ditched the crutch for a stick.
We then met up with a couple of friends in our local, talk was of local roadworks, the best steak to buy and the local elections today amongst other subjects.
Today not sure what’s going on, no rain due, MrJ may go to bowls.
That pie sounds lovely Melanie, must look it up.
I hope MrSar has had a successful op.
Thoughts with those troubled or poorly.

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

I’m still in bed so no idea what the weather is like,

Yesterday was my mainly Waitrose shopping and laundry.

I watched the first two episodes of Amandaland which was hilarious.

Today I will be making another batch of lemon ice cream. Maybe some Barmbrack too. OH loves it.

I need to pop over the road to see my friend who usually feeds the cats when we’re away, to ask if she can feed them at the end of the month for a week. She has been feeding them for us since they were kittens 16 years ago!

Have a good day everyone.

luluaugust Thu 07-May-26 07:35:04

Good morning from a grey W Kent. My Thursday art group restarts this morning I will catch up with all the goings on. After lunch I am meeting a friend who used to come but has moved just to far away to make the journey every week. We are having tea in a local garden centre. After that I have a visit to the paramedic made by my GP to look at my ears. I had only requested a spray I have had before, not sure there will be much to see although the earache is still with me
Best wishes all round

GrannyIvy Thu 07-May-26 07:35:35

Good morning from Cambridgeshire where there is a lovely blue sky and bright sunshine.

Bella our neighbours flew to Tennessee on Tuesday as their son lives out there they were so excited. I do hope you can get out there for a visit this year.

Yesterday was a very cold and wet day here. I went to have my hair cut and coloured and called into M & S and was very underwhelmed by their summer selection. I needed new shorts but couldn’t find any I liked. So many dark colours this year. DH and I are off holiday clothes shopping to an outlet shopping centre today so will see what we can find. Going to treat ourselves to a breakfast out on arrival.

I received good news last night my close friend who had her knee replacement yesterday is doing well. She is quite high risk for surgery. She lives in Wiltshire but we keep close contact and meet as often as we can.

GG I picked up a ready prepared rotisserie chicken portion for two in M & S yesterday (not in a bag tho) and it was disappointingly quite rubbery really, maybe I over cooked it but hope you have more success.

Wishing everyone a good day and things will be easier for all those struggling. Take care 🌷

ginny Thu 07-May-26 07:43:41

Good morning. We have a clear sunny start here in N. Bucks.
It’s my very busy day today. Art class, sewing club and choir this evening.
Healing thoughts to. those who need them and a good day wished for all.

dragonfly46 Thu 07-May-26 07:45:45

Good morning from sunny Leicestershire.

Not posted much as I feel the cares of the world are on me at the moment but today we are off the Bakewell to meet up with SiL and her DH.

I am suffering from pain in my shoulder- the result of the Covid jab. Apparently it was put in too high in my arm, or that is what Google says.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

grandMattie Thu 07-May-26 07:48:11

redcar,no, it’s the visitors who only come for the monthly live concerts who are a pain; wanting fancy milks/teas, “needing” free refills, etc. I would cheerfully knife them (not)!
The regulars are lovely.

brook2704 Thu 07-May-26 07:53:31

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a dry bright start to the day
Sorry to hear you had a bad night grandmabatty but hope you enjoy your day with friends today
We’ve two sleeping DGC here, once they’re up and ready we’ll take them out somewhere this morning. We’re dropping them home around lunchtime, it’s been lovely having them to stay. This afternoon after a bit of shopping I’ll be getting my bag ready as I’m off to DD1s in Cambridge for the weekend, I’m very much looking forward to seeing my two young grandsons there too.
Enjoy your day in Bakewell dragonfly and hope you feel a bit brighter soon
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
