Good Morning Everyone,
Its light with a grey sky over Brackley this morning but remains dry at the moment.
Up to the usual routine after Breakfast with a bus journey into Bicester to do usual shop and chat to those I know, may return after lunch for a coffee and a beer .
Health OK,
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning all.

Yesterday I shopped locally with my trusty trolley. I never realised my road is on an incline and coming home with a heavy trolley is very tiring.🥵.

Dh went out for coffee and a bacon sandwich with his friend but only ate half and they came back sooner than usual. He said the golf club cafe was so noisy with ‘gaggles’ of ladies! . He’s very intolerant since his stroke and getting worse. 🙄.

Today I’m having a pedicure at lunchtime and then lovely DIL is coming to go through the lengthy e mail I’ve received from solicitor regarding cottage sale. For goodness sake , what more do they need to know? It will be my shoe size next!!!

Our builder friend said ‘just tell them you don’t know’ . It’s ridiculous.

Lovely news for Granbatty 👶🏼.Also Granmattie 💁‍♂️.
Brooke have a lovely holiday.
Good luck to all with appointments, scans and other annoying procedures.

Sar I know how you feel with too much going on in your brain, affecting sleep. I don’t know what to worry about most. 🤯.

Take care all 🌺

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. It’s dry, a bit cloudy but feels very mild.

Happy news for you grandmattie and also for you grandmabatty!

brook I hope you have a trouble free journey to Switzerland and a lovely holiday.

A visit to the garden centre this morning, then an Ocado delivery this afternoon will be my day. DD2 and her family are off on holiday to Türkiye later today, she is disappointed that the weather there seems to be cooler and less settled than is forecast for us here!

Have the best day possible everyone.

EkwaNimitee Thu 21-May-26 07:39:28

Good morning Mick and everybody from rainy Carlisle.
Even our postwoman was complaining yesterday...the worst May ever for grey and wetness etc. The sun did appear in the late afternoon to remind us what it looked like!
I did get out in the garden and planted and tidied. I've reorganised storage in the house too, it's definitely an improvement.
The surgery had referred me to the osteoporosis clinic to discuss having an infusion of suitable drugs. I don't mind having the discussion but am highly unlikely to agree to any drugs. I had a letter from the hospital asking me to choose one of two hospitals. The average wait for either is 26 weeks and neither, when I investigated, had appointments available! No worries, I'll just carry on with my diet and exercise plans and leave it up to them.

Today, it's off to the dentist this morning, I've lost another crown after just having another lost one sorted. I'm getting to be a familiar face to my dentist. Hopefully he'll be able to just pop this one back in.
After that I have 2 bags of 'stuff' for the charity shop and might treat myself to a coffee.
I'm behind with the housework and behind with the gardening, the afternoon's weather will dictate which gets tackled.

Happy days grandmabatty! Congratulations to you all.

Wishing you all a pleasant, sunny day!

Good morning from a dull N. Bucks.
On Tuesday I contacted PALS at the eye hospital where I have been waiting 3 months for my scan results. Yesterday I had an email telling me what the problem was and that no further treatment is required at the moment but they will be monitoring me within the next three months. Shame it had to almost come to a complaint before they acted.
Today is busy, BP test at surgery, art class and sewing group . No choir this evening as our leader is on her honeymoon. So, I will pack a case for our trip to Yorkshire.Good to hear the baby, friend and son news.
Wishing all a good day and hoping the promised warmer weather arrives soon.

Liberty Thu 21-May-26 07:48:59

Good morning from sunny Suffolk . I’m off to my stretch class shortly and then coffee with 2 friends from the class.

I opted out of last week’s class because of a sore arm from my COVID jab. Having missed my keep fit class because of my meeting yesterday I’m feeling in need of the focused exercise.

Lovely to read the good news on here this morning from a few posters. I hope today is a positive peaceful day for all.

Gelisajams Thu 21-May-26 08:04:28

Good morning from a wet Morecambe Bay. Wonderful news Grandmabatty
DS3 goes home later today, he’s back in work tomorrow. First we will walk in the woods then I’ll take him into Morecambe where he can wander round while I have a hearing test. After lunch we will head off to the RSPB reserve before he gets his train home.
Yesterday we called at the beautiful Thrieve Garden on our way home so more pics! It really was stunning. One of my favourite flowers the blue mecanopsis was in full bloom.
Take care everyone.flowers

Good morning to all, and
🧸 Congratulations grandmabatty to your son, his partner and you on the new baby news.
Your DGS’s will be delighted to have a little cousin!

NannyJan53 Thu 21-May-26 08:11:22

Good morning from an overcast Black Country, although not cold.

MrJ and his DD were on a high last night, after Villa won their Cup match. They went to our local football club to watch it. He has just dropped her off at the train station for work.

Lovely news Grandmabatty another treasure to love.

Great too that you will be seeing your DS soon gM

A bit of a concern yesterday, Mum took off her long sleeve cardi for the Covid jab, and she had quite a few bruises on both arms, and had no idea how they got there. Nurse didn't seem concerned and said keep and eye and bring her back if they worsen!

Walking group walk this morning, then this afternoon need to look into buying a new Microwave as ours is making very weird noises!

Wishing you all the best day possible

Good morning everyone from a muggy, grey Lancashire.

Bet you can't wait to give your son a hug, Grandmamattie.

Lovely news for your family Grandmabatty. A baby is always a blessing.

Loving your nails, Bellasnanna. I like the combination of patterns.

Glad you've finally got an answer, Ginny. The not knowing and then the worry of the unknown is awful.

Sounds like you're finding a good balance in Malaga, FriedGreenTomatoes. A mix of socialising, sorting and time to just 'be' after so many months of difficulty.

Thank you for the messages of encouragement yesterday afternoon. They gave me a much needed boost.

The meeting went ok. It's early days in the SGO. We are currently facilitating more contact than we have to in order to give a period of transition.
The social worker made it clear that we are being generous in doing this and that it shouldn't be regarded as routine.
We have said we will act in the best interests of the little chap but we want him to have a meaningful relationship with his parents.

Social workers get a bad press but our experience over the last almost 11 months has been very positive. The ones involved with our situation try so hard to do right. I don't know how they do it!

Today we're off to the library and then I'm meeting some former colleagues for tea.

Wishing everyone as good a day as possible. 🌻

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Thu 21-May-26 08:26:05

Such wonderful news about a new baby in the family GrandmaBatty! Congrats to you all in anticipation 😁
Isn’t it the icing on the cake that your son ended his estrangement from you last year - this was meant to be!

And hugs to Gingster Sar53 Roses&Lilacand dragonfly all coping best as with huge anxiety x

Susan56 Thu 21-May-26 08:26:24

Thank you FGT trying not to think about it but it is hard!

Grammaretto Thu 21-May-26 08:36:33

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. It was wet overnight and the heating is still on.

I had an ordeal at the Dentist yesterday. Picture 2 women trying to remove an old stubborn crown, using a hammer at one stage. She did ask if I was ok and I pretended I was.

Yoga this morning should calm me.

What lovely unexpected news Grandmabatty. 😊

Thanks for the photos Gelisajams and Bellasnanna
I have potter's hands so there's usually clay or soil under my nails 😕

Enjoy your holidays those who are away.
Have an easy day everyone else.

Usedtobeblonde Thu 21-May-26 08:45:09

Good morning all.
Nothing to report but just had to say it was nice to read good news today.
Congratulations to your S and his partner Grandmabatty unexpected but delightful and happy time with your S to look forward to Grandmattie .
My better news is that my autistic GS is coping so much better with his GCSE’s than we ever imagined.
He is up and out each day with no fuss or stress, and arrives home with no complaints .
He has done absolutely no work for them but we shall see in August where that has led.
Kind thought to all who need them today.

Melanie61 Thu 21-May-26 08:50:09

Good morning from Zakynthos
I think I have finally relaxed.
It takes me a few days to acclimatise when I go on holiday. It’s been a good few years since my last sun holiday and it’s taken a bit of time to totally relax. Im there though now. It’s recharging my batteries and I’m enjoying the sun
I hope for a good day for everyone, take careflowers

WhiteSwan63 Thu 21-May-26 08:53:36

Good morning from the East Coast. The lovely weather starts today fingers crossed.

I need to go to the gym today but after four weeks it will be difficult. We have DGS after school and I’ll bake him his Thursday cake. He’s very settled at the moment. While we were away DS had a massive leak at their house with hot water spewing through a pipe and the steam set off their fire alarm. Bless them they had only just decorated. It’s an insurance job so from yesterday their wood floors are all up through their dining kitchen and downstairs loo. They have an industrial dehumidifier and fans drying it up. I was stressed last night because GS struggles with loud noise and puts his fingers in his ears I am hoping his self harming doesn’t get too bad from it the stress of it. At least they can keep the bi fold doors open with the good weather. They were so excited about their new house. GSs mother won’t take him to hers to help only on her allocated days. It’s one thing after another at the moment. 🤦

My uncle had a decent day yesterday. He buzzed the carers at 4-30am this morning to say he had dropped his tv remote and couldn’t pick it up.

Wishing a lovely day to everyone and special thoughts to those with stress and worries weighing them down at the moment 🌼💐

Good morning from a rather grey-looking East Lothian.

We are here for our twin grandsons’ 18th birthday. They’ve been doing exams but one finished over a week ago and the other finishes today so the celebrations will start early!

We had an enjoyable weekend in Teesdale on our way north with a lovely walk near the campsite, above and alongside the River Tees and a day in Barnard Castle where we enjoyed the Bowes Museum. What an amazing building!

We are going to Edinburgh today and to South Queensferry to a chandlers there in search of a nautical present for one of the DGSs.

Lovely news from Grandmabatty 🥰.

Thoughts with those with health problems and family concerns. You situation sounds challenging latedecember - it’s good you are getting positive support from social workers.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 21-May-26 09:11:48

A late and quick good morning, off to GD & GS’s sports day and I am running late.

Will catch up later 🙋‍♀️

glammagran Thu 21-May-26 09:15:00

Good morning from a very warm and still Crete. Tne wind has gone. I am barely speaking to DH who snored last night like a warthog in labour for 7 hours NON STOP! I got no sleep at all.

Yesterday we caught a bus to Chania old town with its lovely Venetian harbour. Had nice wander round, coffee and later, lunch. Saw 3 F16 fighter jets going over - can't get away from miliatary planes it seems. We were on the bus(es) for one
hour and 15 minutes for €10 return for both of us. Incredibly cheap.

Great news from DS. GS1 has made the swimming nationals. He is still 15 till the end of December but swims in the 16 year age group. His club was featured in the Oxfordshire Gazette as they'd had their best ever year with 4 boys making it through.

What exciting news for you GB. Its so lovely when a new grandchild arrives.

We intend to bring back the sun on Monday. Have good day all.

Ladyleftfieldlover Thu 21-May-26 09:28:48

Morning all from a grey but dry West Oxfordshire,

The U3A lunch was fun yesterday. Good company and delicious food,

I am afraid I bottled out of the WI Ceilidh evening. I felt exhausted and I wouldn’t have danced anyway with my knees being shot.

It is the U3A Art History group today, which I’m looking forward to.

Such good news today for many of you! 🌹

Have a good day.

Susan56 Thu 21-May-26 09:42:11

Hoping Marydoll and her DH are ok🙏🏻

WhiteSwan63 Thu 21-May-26 10:01:27

I meant to say earlier what wonderful news for you all grandmabatty 🌼

Lovely surprise for you Grandmabatty something to look forward to.

Melanie61 Thu 21-May-26 11:42:05

glammagran, we saw the fighter jets too! We are in Zakinthos . I wonder if they were the same ones smile
