Good morning from Bristol. It’s slightly muggy. If it’s anything like yesterday, it’ll be perfect.
I was very busy in the morning, having baked a fruitcake, some ginger cake, flapjacks and chocolate biscuits as well as a Bakewell tart to take to DD’s.
I have tinnitus, but the high pitched whistling I could hear wasn’t that. I thought it came from the house. Nada. In the end, we found out it was from our centenarian,’s flat. We thought it was her door answering thing, but were later told it was her fire alarm. It was dreadful and piercing! I called the repair people, but haven’t been told the result. It fortunately had stopped by the time I left to go to dd’s.
It was DD’s day off and she was in a good mood. So was iris, DGD was out with her friends. We had a very pleasant afternoon.
Today, I have to leave the house early because I’m cleaning my bit of the church, after which I’m serving coffee.
May you have a good weekend. Carpediem 🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from a dry NE where we are promised 21 degrees today.
Been awake since 4.30 with stomach pains, going to be a long day.
Had a nice catch up with my friend and her DH gave me a glass ornament, he is a very skilled glass artist and the cousin of my late DH.
Today will be a quiet day, have a good one.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where the sky is clear but it’s set to be a little cooler today. No milk for my coffee this morning - it’s gorn orf!! I hate black coffee but it’s better than no coffee!

Yesterday I woke up with considerable pain in my hip and was hobbling and taking pain relief for most of the day. The worst it’s been. Probably the result of too much work in the garden on Thursday. It settled around tea time.

Nothing much planned for today. A trip to Aldi this morning and some cleaning.

Have the best day you can, folks.

Good morning from Sheffield
Well I slept like a log last night apart from DH having cramp, he crept about like a mouse though. He did apologise for making such a fuss the night before. He did go golfing , it was indeed a miracle.
I need to put the garden straight after the paths were cleaned last week, pots need arranging.
Then an easy afternoon, my sister will call , it’s her birthday on Tuesday. She will be 75 and still working part time in a care home for severely disabled teenagers. I do admire her.
I hope the weekend is good for us all
Take care everyone flowers

Good morning from a balmy start to the day in Cornwall. By 5pm yesterday I donned overalls and emerged into my wild wood and dug out a lot more earth for the new sitting area. Very satisfying work. I noticed that my patio lavender was actually wilting, a first for that plant as it usually loves dry conditions.

Today I'll take an early bus or two to a summer fair in a beautiful leafy setting, back home before the temperature rises too much. Rain forecast next week, oh joy! My patio plants will welcome it.

Greyduster flowers Why can we go to bed feeling great and wake up feeling as though we have been run over by a bus!

Gagagran Sat 30-May-26 06:18:13

Good Morning all from another bright and pleasantly mild central south coast. Someone obviously heeded my plea to turn the thermostat down!

DH is out with his cycling club for a coffee and cake ride this morning but will be back for lunch The high pollen levels are affecting him but nothing is allowed to stop his activity. "'Tis bit a scratch" is his motto! ( a la the black knight in Monty Python).

I need to catch up with the Isle of Man relations today and that always takes some time but I want to check progress with my brother and nephew especially.

We have been watching the Giro too, Mick and have loved the scenery. It looks like the winner is now a foregone conclusion, barring accidents.

Enjoy the day if you can, and hope those with troubles, worries or struggles of any kind have a better day.

Grammaretto, yes I spotted the lighthouse in the far distance, funnily enough something I'd often add to a painting, using extreme artistic licence. 😄

Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset is forecast a clear day with a high of 20 degrees. Haven’t looked out yet to check the skies.

Other than dreadful hay fever, if anyone else tells me I look awful I’ll be up in front of a magistrate, all plods on as usual here. I was amazed to find it was a positively chilly volunteer stint yesterday, we sit by a door and a cold wind was blowing in. After a sedentary afternoon a short early evening walk by our little river was very welcome if very sneezy.

Today will unfold as it does. No real plans.

Best wishes to all. Have the best day you can.

Good morning from Malta where it’s already 22°C rising to 32°C and sunny.

We have a General Election today so of course we are inconvenienced with no parking anywhere near polling stations, one of which is less than fifty steps from my door but the powers that be have deemed it necessary for me to go to a polling station at the school, about a twenty minute walk in this heat. 😡

Went for my hair yesterday, my hairdresser hasn’t got a date yet for her surgery so is her usual sweet, cheerful self. Her daughter (13) goes in for two surgeries on her spine next week. The surgeon comes over from the UK a couple of times a year as it needs someone highly specialised in this type of surgery.

I had to put my car in my very small garage (due to the Election). What a lot of going back and forth trying to get in without scraping my car. I think they were designed for bicycles. My car is a small one, no idea how anyone parks a huge SUV in such a small space.

I watched a long and very exciting match between Djokovic and a 19 year old Brazilian João Fonseca. It wasn’t quite over when my Treasures arrived unexpectedly after a day out. What joy to see them! They had their dinner here and DD3 bathed them and was very surprised when DGS2 said ‘I want Nana to get me out of the bath’.

They both fill my heart with love, I do so wish DH could have been here to enjoy them. He loved DGD so much.

I had better stop rambling and drink my tea. Then I will have to go and vote (not that it will make any difference) and then go to the ATM as I’m out of cash. I’m still old fashioned and don’t like paying for things with just a tap of my phone!

Hope you all have a good day all.☀️

Good morning from a sunny W Kent. A small amount of shopping this morning and then a quiet afternoon.
I went and called on my friend to find she had lost her phone in Corfu! We had a bit of a catch up and she is now off to her brothers, so pleased I knocked.
Best wishes

Good morning everyone from a very bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton, a load of washing already going, and listening to Tony Blackburn on Radio 2 - oh those sixties songs bring back so many memories!

A quietish morning yesterday, put a beef curry into the slow cooker - I am pleased to say this old recipe.from 40 years ago turned out very well and I have three portions chilling in the fridge ready to go into the freezer.
After lunch one of my neighbours came for coffee and we put the world to rights for a couple of hours - it does her good to unload as she is struggling with her husband who has dementia.

Will have an early lunch today then get the bus to Boots to get some of my regular dry eye drops before my surgery next week, then will walk the 10 minutes to the rugby stadium for our last home match of the season. Will meet DD and DS-in-law there and 🍷/🍺 will be taken, possibly also🍦. 💚💛 The match is sold out so with a 15,000 crowd the atmosphere should be amazing.

Home to a steak dinner and more🍷....

Wishing all a pleasant day.

Gingster Sat 30-May-26 07:02:29

Good morning all and it’s pleasantly cool and sunny here in Essex.. Yesterday was muggy and overcast.

We did meet our Friday friends. Got a cab there and our friend brought us home. Dh , although didn’t want to go, enjoyed seeing his pals.

I mowed the lawn and watered plant pots when we got home. I e lost a few plants in this weather although I water twice a day. I can see them wilting and withering before my eyes.

Nothing planned today. Next week we hope to go to our seaside cottage for a week. I’m missing it so much.

I hope you all have a ‘good’ day whatever you do.,🌺

Gelisajams Sat 30-May-26 07:03:14

Good morning all from Morecambe Bay, where another pleasant day is promised. I won’t have my Saturday empty today as I have to work. I put off gardening earlier in the week as it was so hot. Yesterday’s trip out was most enjoyable, but on our return we weren’t too happy with the carpet fitters. Bits of carpet littered the floor - no attempt at clearing the excess, a door had been removed and another didn’t close. The door plates are badly fitted and one is upside down and the patio blinds have been damaged. I spoke to the shop and have sent pictures. I await the manager returning on Monday.
The wildflowers on Walney were stunning, amongst them a low growing wild rose which I haven’t seen before. I’ll attempt to post a couple of pictures.
Thinking of all with troubles. Take care🌸

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 11° and cloudy. Yesterday we had a spell of rain which was welcome. Bellasnana your boys are wee treasures. Cornergran hay fever is such a blight. Both my children have it badly.
Yesterday I had a lovely catch up with two former colleagues and friends. We chatted for a couple of hours before going our separate ways. Not before I nearly fell over! The time is approaching when I need a stick to help stay vertical but I'm putting it off.
Today I will head to aldi to stock my fridge and cupboards for the forthcoming week. That's all I have planned. Im feeling a bit down at the moment but I'm sure it'll pass. Have a good day all.

Grandmabatty Sat 30-May-26 07:07:56

Lulu I'm so glad there was nothing untoward with your friend.

RosesandLilac Sat 30-May-26 07:14:25

Good morning, cool and bright here in south Glos, it’s such a relief that the heat has gone.
Yesterday was very pleasant, housework and enjoying my garden while deadheading roses, they’re magnificent this year!
I’m redressing my leg daily as instructed, it’s a very neat incision. It did make me wonder what happens if you can’t do it yourself. Certainly it wouldn’t be done at the surgery; I should have the stitches removed at 10 - 12 days but I couldn’t get an appointment until day 16 🙄
DH definitely wouldn’t do it so I wonder what happens, or if it’s in an inaccessible spot like on your back?
Nothing planned for today, I can do whatever I like which will probably be lots of embroidery 👏
Coronation chicken and a jacket potato for dinner, so that’s sorted!
I hope you have a lovely day x
🌹

Good morning from s somerset, bearable warmth today and blue skies

I am just about to leave for Wells, my car needs a run and I need a small bit of shopping

Everything here and on the allotment is in order, I have picked onions, garlic and shallots, which are drying for storage. First batch of new potatoes are picked and some given away, strawberries every day and enough to eat and freeze, salad leaves eaten every day too. Weeding is up to date, if weeding is done by june then summer maintenance is easy

I have been spinning outdoors in umbrella shade, every day apart from when the air temperature was 34, almost finished and I will be able to start knitting a jumper for winter soon

I am just setting up old roomba, to clean while I am out. Bed made and en suite is done too

Have a good weekend

Ladyleftfieldlover Sat 30-May-26 07:19:43

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

OH and I enjoyed our Golden Wedding celebrations yesterday, thank you for all your best wishes. We had a delicious lunch out and reminisced. Today will be spent packing, giving my neighbour a key so she can feed the cats and leaving the house tidy - I love to come back from holiday to a tidy house! It’s a shame our cleaner couldn’t come this week but her daughter was suffering badly from heat stroke.

Have a good day everyone. The temperature has gone down a lot but it’s still quite muggy.

Good morning on another warm one in La Sarthe.

I would recommend using a stick, Grandmabatty. It helps in crowded areas where (generally) others will give you a wide berth. I also find walking poles helpful for balance.

My DS is going through a tough time and is splitting up from his girlfriend. They were sixth form sweethearts who reunited a couple of years ago but are now parting company and need to sell this lovely house in mid Staffs so if you know anyone who might be interested ……
