Good morning from Shropshire.Much cooler today.
Yesterday we bought lots of bedding plants so all the pots are sorted and looking lovely.
Today we will get everything ready for the family descending tomorrow for DH’s birthday. We would normally make a meal here but have booked a restaurant for lunch tomorrow then back here for cake.
Grandmabatty my DH has been going to a strength and balance class and it has made a massive difference and hopefully put off the needing a stick for a while🤞🏻It is mainly sitting down exercises but has really improved the strength in his legs.
Hoping Marydoll had a better day yesterday.
Thinking of all with worries and struggles and wishing everyone the best day possible🌷🦩

Good Morning Saturday 30th May 2026
(46 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
Its light a clear sky just before sunrise here in Brackley this morning.
Will get a early bus into to Bicester do a quick shop and return as I want to watch the penultimate stage of Giro on TV.
Health OK ,
Take Care,
Mick
Good morning everyone from mid Essex where it’s warm and sunny again, probably the last day of the real heat. Yesterday was cloudy and humid so fairly uncomfortable. I went to the local garden centre for coffee with DD2 and the granddaughters. I resisted the temptation to buy more plants.
Nothing planned for today, there is some ironing to do and I’ll water the garden as I didn’t do it yesterday.
rosesandlilac I had a suspicious mole removed from my back a few years ago, and my surgery changed the dressing twice a week, I couldn’t reach it.
Hoping that all those who are struggling with health issues or who are looking after loved ones with health problems will find some relief today.
Have a good Saturday everyone.
BlueSapphire I also still use a curry recipe that was given to me nearly sixty years ago by our Indian grocer in Singapore. I used to tell him what meat I was using and he would make me up a spice blend. He also told me where in the local market to buy the best meat, but I always found the market rather intimidating because you were expected to haggle!
Good morning all from a brightish North Leicestershire. We have the bedroom window open and there is a slight breeze.
We had a fun afternoon at my friend's birthday cream tea - lots of catching up and chatter.
Today, we are off to Henel Hempstead to watch DGD2 in The Addams Family. On the way home we will call in at another friend's 90th birthday party.
DGD1's migraines have been a problem with her going backwards and forwards to A&E and the GP. Eventually DH suggested that she went cold turkey with all the various medications to see if that helped. It did. Now to find out if she has had a good night. She wants to go to 'the party of the century' tonight so we can only hope.
Have the best day possible everyone.
Morning from a sunny and pleasant S Hants.
Enjoy your match BlueSapphire.
My stick goes out with me gBatty it’s reassuring.
Yesterday we tidied and went to our local in the early evening, it was very busy, lots of chatting with people not seen for a while.,
Today will be quiet, a football game to watch at 5, pasta for dinner.
Have a gentle day all.
Good morning everyone from sunny Anglesey.
DH will just be leaving Manchester Piccadilly on his way back to us. We will pick him up from Bangor later.
I'm glad the weather has held because a friend's son is best man at an Anglesey wedding later today. It would have been such a shame if it was raining after such a gorgeous week.
We had a day pottering about the caravan yesterday.
In the morning I attended a Teams meeting about planning family contact time for the little chap. He's pretty much sorted but he has older half siblings with different relatives where things are not amicable.
I felt quite frustrated yesterday and my contribution to the meeting was that the needs of the children should come 1st.
There are things we could be awkward about if we wanted to, but we know we have to think long term.
Point scoring when there are children involved isn't good for anyone. Grrrr!
I did some washing, then yesterday evening did all of the ironing. This caravan has a washing machine and a dishwasher so laundry isn't the chire it was when I used to have to hand wash here when the kids were growing up.
Wishing you all the best day possible. Take care. 🌻
Chore not chire!
Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 10°°C.
Llfl, congratulations. I am glad you had a lovely day.
I love to read about grandchildren, you can feel the love of posters for them.
GMB, you will have seen me walking with a stick, think about getting one, I have become very clumsy and keep tripping up, It gives me something to lean on and stops me falling.
Ask for a physio assessment, ( we can self refer) to make sure, you have one suitable for your needs.. Mine has an ergonomic
handle, to make it easier to hold, due to my painful hands.
Yesterday was such a busy day. Before going to Silverburn, I dropped of DH's sample.
I went from inconsolable sobbing on Wednesday at the surgery, to uncontrollable laughter yesterday.
The assistant on the desk was the one, who had arranged the emergency appointment for DH on Weds and the other was the one, with whom I spoke on Thursday, when I had to prise the phone from DH's hand.
I explained that he he is a tad deaf on top of all his other issues.
They were so kind, then the healthcare assistant appeared, she too asked if I was OK.
I had forgotten, that it was the end of the month and you could hardly move in Silverburn. I spent the time dodging prams and motility scooters.
I was horrified to witness one elderly lady on a hired scooter, teaching her friend, who had no idea how to use it, while they were driving. It was scary, these scooter are huge beasts.
The M&S sale wasn't up to much, I bought a blouse, which is going back and a top.
I wisely shopped the sale first, then a food shop. When I left, it was elbows at dawn at the sale rails.
I am hoping to see DD or DS today, I need someone to go up the loft.
I came downstairs yesterday, to find DH, standing on a stepladder, because the cameras needed charged. Earlier, he had been feeling dizzy. 🤬
I plan a quiet day. My RA has flared up big time, I have pain everywhere.
Usual Saturday parish admin, the Mass tonight.
Have a great day folks, whatever your plans. Best wishes to all the mountaineers.♥️
Good Morning from Durham - it’s going to be a cloudy, warm day. I’m off for coffee with a friend - unusually we haven’t seen each other all week. Lots to catch up on.
My rental house has finally gone - I’m relieved and after 15 years, not sorry to see it go. Another thing I’ve ‘achieved’ since DH died.
DD1 was due back into Newcastle airport at 4am. I won’t disturb her, but I need her set of the rental’s keys back at some point.
🥂LLFL
Best wishes to all. X
Good morning everybody from Málaga and Just look at these temperatures for the last week of my holiday! The weather really has been cracking all the time I’ve been here and the sunshine has definitely helped raise my spirits.
A neighbour friend came out last night she’s from Birmingham and has invited me up for coffee later this morning. She’s out on her own this visit. She’s had her apartment gutted - new wet room bathroom, new tiling, kitchen area and is now very contemporary. I shall be envious (not really, I’m happy with my little place). We will make plans for going out for a Chinese together, maybe Monday.
Good morning from sunny Stockport.
I missed yesterday as I slept in after the heat gave me a disturbed night and then was in a rush as my friend was picking me up to go shopping.
Congratulations to anyone celebrating yesterday and commiserations to those who really needed them.
My friend’s driving is getting worse and I have decided to only travel very locally with her, it is still a challenge.
I have gently asked if she is okay driving and got a sharp answer “of course, I shall know when I am not”.
I feel somewhat responsible, I am probably the only person who travels with her and the very last thing would be to mention it to her family.
They are all rather intimidating and very self assured although years and years younger than me.
I am finding it a concern.
I think my GS is going to pop in with my GGDs some time, it depends how hot it gets , the baby has been unsettled all week.
We are forecast rain for every day next week.
Have the best day you can everyone.
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. A nice day by the looks of it.
Our town is en fête today so there'll be road closures and runaway horses. There's a parade with floats and bands which finishes at the fair in the park.
All fun except that I'm expecting viewers for the house. I had some yesterday who were here for over an hour!
I'm tired already. My bid for another house wasn't successful. It was sold for 20% above the upset price and in Scotland there are closed bids so it's guess work.
Sorry you are struggling with your wound Rosesandlilac I hope it's healing well.
Good luck for your son's sale Ashcombe but a sad reason. 😢
Great photos Gelisajams
I'd love to see your paintings Marzipan
I hope you have had a better day and night Marydoll
Wishing everyone has some joy today.
Marydoll that's good advice too. My health centre is out of bounds next week as they are changing their IT system so no appointments for anything. But I will keep it in mind. Grammaretto my daughter said prices are crazy at the moment and houses are going for 30% more and upwards. When I bought the bungalow 8 years ago, I offered 20% more at that time. It's something to consider
Such a beautiful house Ashcome and on a corner plot too! It’s gorgeous and I bet it’s soon snapped up. But a sad reason for the sale nonetheless.
My GD and her BF are in the process of buying a house at the moment.
They have worried about some one offering more than their offer , below asking price, so we have wished for the Scottish , once an offer is accepted it is final but so pleased the other idea of closed bids doesn’t apply.
It seems a bit like a lottery.
Good luck Grammaretto
Good morning from a wet Co Armagh! I’ve been out in my pjs enjoying the cool moisture!
Daughter and husband are away to the caravan , she warned me they would probably come home early if it’s too wet
I footered around in the greenhouse yesterday , don’t know how things will survive , we’ve had to order a new greenhouse as this one is very creaky , so this will be taken down , new base laid and , theoretically, a fortnight later the new one put up
I have fallen a few times in this on , hopefully this new greenhouse with a level floor and grab rails will be fall proof
Illl not do too much today , books to be read , tv sorted , programs to watch
Wishing everyone a good day 💐
Good morning from Sunnyside Sandhills northwest coast.
I made it to my hairdresser yesterday driving twenty miles even though I was suffering the after effect of my Covid jab and they were very kind and gave me paracetamol. I’m glad it’s done as I’m going away next week. It was good to come home and flop.
I’m feeling much better today and will get on with things. Last week I bought a Le Crueset type casserole and will cook for tonight with salad. I gave away my original larger enamel casserole as it was so heavy, this one is much lighter.
I watched an excellent film from 1994 last night, Thomas Hardy’s Return of the Native. I find I’m using YouTube more than Amazon prime or Netflix for gems like this.
I hope the property sale goes through quickly Ashcombe and thoughts to all🌺
Good morning . Sunny but thin cloud in N. Bucks this morning
We had a good journey home yesterday and managed to get all the washing and drying done . We had such a good week and it seems very quiet here without all the family. I am so grateful for them , they make my heart swell with joy.
Off to replenish the fridge contents this morning.
Maybe a bit of weeding in the garden which has kindly been watered by friends whist we were away. I must prepare for our scrapbooking tomorrow and decide. What to do on Monday when I have the two youngest DGS . Some sort of craftwork has been requested.
Wishing all a good day with a smile along the way.
Greyduster it is a curry recipe from a Malaysian lady we knew in Cyprus. We met at an RAF Saddle Club.
I think I need to tweak it a bit: slightly less lime juice and more mango chutney. And.I might try coconut milk next time.
We didn't cook much in Singapore, but if we needed provisions we could use the NAAFI, usually the army one in Tanglin.
Happy days😊!
