Its light but with a grey sky over Brackley this morning.
Todays plans after the Chiropodist as cut my toes is to get the bus into Bicester ,shop and maybe talk to those I know.
I did a bit of an extra day yesterday having had my eyes checked at the hospital in Banbury ,I decided to have a bus trip , I caught the bus outside the Hospital , and went to Summertown in Oxford , then got another bus to Bicester, did a shop, and then got a bus back to Brackley .
Heath OK,
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a cool, wet Bristol. At least the wind has died down a not; yesterday was horrible with strong breezes, rain sun,; all changing in an instant.
The FAB cafe went well; about 100 people attended despite the weather. The live band played for over 1.5 hours without stopping, the audience was bopping and gyrating for all that time. It was a pleasure to se3 their happiness. The volume was unnecessarily loud, imho, but no one seemed to mind.
There was a lot of tidying up, but many helped to set the church back in order, etc., so I wasn’t home too late. I have to confess being wiped out, so the afternoon was quiet.
Just t’ai chi and dinner with DD today. I need to call the electric company also. Philip used to say he didn’t much like being grownup with all these things to attend to; I agree wholeheartedly!
May all the travellers keep safe, the unwelln out of discomfort, and everyone contented. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩❤️

Good morning from a breezy and damp looking Torbay but with a pretty sunrise which is encouraging. Yesterday we had some of those fine misty showers in which Devon specialises!

Nevertheless, I ventured out to our theatre for Wednesday Club where our chairman came to talk to us about the new season’s plays which begins in August with Yes, Prime Minister. This will run for a fortnight attracting some visitors to the bay to our audience, we hope. I have a very minor role in it as a BBC newsreader.

Later I had an Asda delivery, brought by a delightful young man who plays in a local rock band which has been booked to play on a Virgin cruise in October. He was so friendly and helpful. I do find it interesting to hear about the lives of people I meet!

I hope you’re safely home from your lovely holiday, brook2704. Your photos were beautiful!

The church event sounds like a lot of fun, grandMattie!

Today I must finish unpacking!

Happy holidays to those who are travelling and thoughts with those who are unwell.

Good morning, it’s rather damp and dreary here in south Glos, dark clouds are scudding across the sky.
I slept well, there a wooden blanket on the bed as my summer duvet isn’t enough, I have a second one folded across the bottom of the bed.
I had a good morning yesterday despite the very wet weather, it was more like November than June.
After my hair cut, rather short but it’ll grow quickly, I went into town. I got everything done that I wanted to do and was home again by midday.
Today is housework.
Wishing you all a good day 🌹

Good morning from Malta where it is forecast to be sunny and 34°C.

Had a fairly leisurely day with Milo dog yesterday. He’s such good company on his own but a handful if he’s not the centre of attention.

I popped to the local stationers to have a photo taken for my driving licence. Why are mug shots nearly always so awful!🫣
Anyway, it’s ok and I shall repeat the process I went through on Tuesday, this time I hope I will emerge with a new licence.

I’ll probably go to Lidl for a few bits and pieces then back to watch the tennis.

I agree too, grandMattie, being grown up has far too many responsibilities especially when the one who shared them is no longer here.💐

I hope you all have a good day.☀️

Good morning from Sheffield
Thankyou for your messages of care yesterday

I feel so much better today. I had to go back to the dentist because it wasn’t him that had seen me. I told him that I had taken Clindamycin before but he wasn’t keen on prescribing it, he said he hadn’t prescribed it for a long time. I don’t know why that was relevant . Anyway he did and I’ve been fine overnight
The family are here for tea, it’s salmon fish cakes today . I got a bargain of a whole salmon in Morrisons last week.

It looks like a brighter day. I will get up and go out for a walk.
Take care everyone flowers

R&L, the mind boggles about your “wooden” blanket! Is it heaven, in slats or in one piece;oak, ash or mahogany? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

grandMattie Thu 04-Jun-26 05:50:31

Heavy

Granniemay Thu 04-Jun-26 05:55:38

Good morning on a rainy morning in Bristol. Grandmattie the FAB event was great yesterday. And as always you made lovely cakes and biscuits for everyone to enjoy. Thank you. I had an x-ray on my left foot yesterday. Should hear from the GP by tomorrow what’s wrong. Have a good day everyone.💕

Good morning everybody from Málaga. Our forecast is 34°C today till 8pm! I’ve woken early and had planned the beach but I think I’ll go down tomorrow (my last day) as it will ‘only’ be 29°C.

Today I plan to do the few chores that will spark joy on my next visit. I plan to strip my bed, mop the tiles and nip to the supermarket to stock up on some essentials.

I’m going to ask my ‘ex-dancer’ friend whether she’d like to join me for coffee as, if I go to the beach tomorrow I shan’t see her until we maybe overlap in the autumn (she cannot bear the heat of July/August).

At 6pm I’m meeting my hairdresser and her husband (whom I’ve never met) on the marina for cocktails in my favourite bar. I messaged her back to say I’d love to join them but that I’d best take extra care trying to style my hair with my hot brush ha! She replied “that made me laugh - I’m happy to rock holiday hair if you are!” 😁

Good morning from s somerset, showers today and very strong gusts

Jobs were done yesterday, the 13 holes in walls are almost finished, I will do the final paint coat today, the repairs are already invisible and smooth. Door handle replaced and works well. Rotary line brought into the garage as well as the tall, big umbrella, to save the constant stress on the poles in the strong gusts

It feels like autumn but without the autumn scent. I will mostly be indoors today, need to finish my spinning today and I will be able to put my wheel away. I am looking forward to start to knit my winter jumper from this squishy yarn, Homebody by Heidi Kirrmaier

I am getting straight again after quite a bit of de-cluttering. I see differences all over the place, even the areas out of sight. I did a tip tun yesterday and feel nothing about getting rid of things anymore.

Gelisajams Thu 04-Jun-26 06:28:15

Good morning from wet cold windy Morecambe Bay. I didn’t post yesterday - I joined the sickbay with the most awful attack of tinnitus. I’ve not had it before and waking up to realise that the house alarm I could hear was not outside but in my head, sent me into a full blown panic. Thankfully it only lasted a few hours. I did manage to get an appointment with the nurse at the surgery who diagnosed an ear infection. I have a spray which hopefully will sort it out.
I thought I had put the wooden blanket on my bed last night, but it was just Crazy dog choosing to sleep on top of me. He’s curled up next to me at the moment snoring away.
I have a long standing arrangement to meet a friend in Ripon today and we have a campsite booked for an overnight stay. I really don’t feel up to going but I don’t want to let her down either so I will go and hope the ear spray and paracetamol keep me me vertical.
Thinking of all with far more serious problems than me. Take care. 🌸

grandMattie Thu 04-Jun-26 06:29:23

Another “wooden” blanket, gelis. Are they the fashion? 🤣

HelterSkelter1 Thu 04-Jun-26 06:42:06

Good morning from a brightish N Surrey. Its very breezy, cool and must have rained in the night.

It has suddenly made me think of being on a beach in the very early morning, tide out and the wind whipping up little white topped wavelets.

My attitude to decluttering has changed as well karmalady. I have turned a sharp corner and feel energised to get rid/pass on. If I need to read a certain book again, I will borrow it. Memories attached to "things" are my memories and won't go away even if the item does.

It's the opposite of nesting and it is sudden. Thank goodness. Its a positive feeling.

Redcar Thu 04-Jun-26 06:42:24

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. It’s cool, cloudy and breezy at the moment. Another day of showers is forecast. It rained on and off for most of yesterday, but I managed to stay dry during my morning walk. I got wet in the afternoon when I had to go out to post a letter. I spent the day going through boxes of old invoices etc and was pleased to get rid of a lot of old stuff. I’ll finish that today.
A boiler service first thing this morning then I need to take some bags of clothes to the charity shop.

grandmattie the FAB cafe sounds fun yesterday!

fgt your holiday seems to have gone past very quickly. Enjoy your day, whatever you decide to do.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Grandmabatty Thu 04-Jun-26 06:45:01

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 12° and wet still. No wooden blankets here! Gelis I'm sorry you are under the weather. Ear infections can be really painful. GrandMattie that was a good number for the café. Granniemay I forgot to say welcome the other day. I hope your foot is ok.
Yesterday I did nothing at all and was very lazy. It rained most of the day too. I think there was some lightning flashes but little thunder. No news from dd about dgs2 so no further incidents. 🤞
Today I will head to the school library to tidy up. I might do a washing when I return home but no chance of hanging it out today. Dinner will be whatever I lay my hands on from the freezer. Have a good day all.

karmalady Thu 04-Jun-26 06:56:03

HelterSkelter I feel exactly how you described; it has been coming on slowly for quite a while but then the sensation became sudden. I love it and feel renewed

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where it’s dry and breezy at the moment.

GS came early yesterday and we took advantage of the window of dry weather to cut the side hedge. It was, as always, a proper beast but he enjoys wielding the hedge trimmer and we soon had it done. My green bin is now full to overflowing along with a collapsible bag. Minutes after we finished we had a heavy downpour and that set the tone for the day - in and out between really heavy showers. We went to the garden centre to buy plants for the front door planter.

I favour a slow start today so won’t go to walking group. Instead when I take the boy home later, weather permitting we’ll have a walk around one of our lovely parks, Graves, which was given in trust to the city a hundred years ago yesterday. I’ve known it from being a small child and it’s one always been one of my favourite places. This afternoon I have a much needed haircut.

Have the best day you can, folks.

Good morning from rain soaked South Lanarkshire.

Yesterday was fine, we tidied up a bit at DS’s house then I prepared a meal for them whilst DH attacked some weeds in the garden before picking up the children from school and nursery. DDoutL was away with work so we were able to chat with DS when he came home.

Today it’s the turn of DD to have our childminding services. She and DSiL are heading south to watch the cricket tomorrow, I do hope it isn’t rained off. We will stay until they come home late tomorrow night. The original plan was to stay till Sunday but DGD now has a big netball game on Saturday hence the flying visit to Lords.

Best wishes to all.

Gagagran Thu 04-Jun-26 07:03:37

Good Morning all from a very windy and damp central south coast. The heating came on yesterday as it was so chilly and the strong wind blew my new parasol against the garage wall and also upended my new potted palm tree! It was very gusty. We are promised thunder, lightning, winds and more rain today. Flaming June indeed!

My big brother in the Isle of Man was brought home from hospital yesterday and my niece sent me pictures. He looks very thin but very cheerful and she had arranged for his flat to be deep cleaned and his freezer stocked with M&S meals in advance. As she said, our family genes are very strong and he is determined to cope with his disability.

I didn't make it to choir rehearsal last night as my scratchy throat turned into a sore and deep bass voice. No way could I sing and an accompanying headache didn't encourage doing very much anyway. I am still hoping to manage the concert on 13 June, having worked on the programme since January. We'll see.

Glad the FAB cafe went well, GM and you had help to clear up. I would love a little of your energy if you could spare a bit? grin

Kind thoughts as always to all our strugglers with troubles or worries of any sort and hopes are for some ease and comfort today.

cornergran Thu 04-Jun-26 07:04:52

Morning Mick, morning All from a damp , draughty corner of Somerset.

Yesterday was frankly foul. So windy, the huge trees on the riverbank behind our garden were so noisy and swaying violently. Heavy rain showers, sudden sunshine before rain again. With no need to go out we didn’t!

Mr C would like some breakfast out this morning, he much prefers that to lunch and is currently deliberating on where. I’m not a cooked breakfast fan, as long as there’s toast I’m happy.

Best wishes to all, have the best day you can.

ginny Thu 04-Jun-26 07:06:42

Good morning. N. Bucks is wet and windy and I don’t think it will improve much today.
Our garden party became a conservatory party but was still enjoyed by all.
Today is art, sewing and choir.
Wishing all a good day. Can anyone do an effective sun dance?

luluaugust Thu 04-Jun-26 07:08:46

Good morning from W Kent where it is very wet with blue sky!
Yesterday didn’t go to plan due to the rain but plenty of book sorting has resulted in two empty shelves so a bit of a result.
Art this morning and then not sure what
Best wishes

Good morning everyone from a drenched Lancashire. We're due storms later so I think today will be mainly indoors.

Yesterday a friend came over and had lunch with us. It was nice to catch up. Our sons have been good friends for years which is how we met.

I need to nip out to my local wool shop at some point. I've started knitting a scarf using up some of my stashed wool, but have realised there won't be enough to finish it. So much for my good intentions!

Hope everyone has the best day possible. Take care. 🌻
