Good morning, it’s wet here on the hillside in south Glos, but not raining at the moment.
I’m off to get the stitches out of my leg first thing, they’re rather embedded after two weeks 😬, today was the first appointment I could get at the surgery.
I’m picking up a friend en route and we’re having breakfast out in a new café; I’m looking forward to it.
Hopefully it’ll brighten up later, yesterday afternoon was lovely and sunny but not particularly warm. It’s looking like the weather will improve by the weekend.
I will give the dogs a good brush when I get back, they’re moulting like mad. It’s just as well we have a new vacuum cleaner! Bigger dog has a very fluffy undercoat, unlike tiddler whose hair is very short, it gets everywhere.
Best wishes to you all x

Good morning! It is bright in the NE Mids too with a light breeze and no rain forecast today. Taking advantage of a dry day to get some weeding done around the onions growing in the veg patch and the gooseberries are ripening at a pace now so I’ll be checking to see if any are ready to pick.
Have a good day one and all!

Good morning from a soggy Bristol. After a lovely afternoon, it poured down all-nighter and is bucketing atm.
All the best wit(bt he stitched, r&l.
Hurray, the plasterer came. I’d almost given up and had sat down after being busy all morning, washing (and scrubbing) floors, etc., when the doorbell went.
The chap spent about 40 minutes. Unusually, he was rather taciturn, got on with his job. Apparently, he was out of his area, but did a good job. He was pleased when I said that I’d do the painting because he would have needed to come back this afternoon to do it. I was left with sandpaper and a sponge sanding block. No problem, easy peasy.
I’m so pleased; I have been whinging about it since November when the old radiator was replaced,!
The other “Hurray” was that the outside painting had finally started, three years or six weeks late - take your pick.
Today is baking day, sewing, and generally filling it with things to do.
Hav3 a good day all. 🐦‍🔥 Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Ashcombe Tue 09-Jun-26 05:58:28

Good morning from a bright and sunny Torbay.

Good luck with having your stitches removed, RosesandLilac. Having breakfast out afterwards will be a welcome treat, I’m sure.

I enjoyed my return to Move It Or Lose It yesterday and hope I do not suffer any after effects with achy joints, etc.

Back to help with Props this morning at our theatre.

Have a good day, everyone, and I hope it includes some sunshine.

Good morning from yet another dull and grey Black Country, where it rained off and on yesterday.

Audiology appointment yesterday for new moulds, and she programmed the Aids upwards for better sound. They used to do this by attaching the aids to computer, now it is done wirelessly.

I popped into Merry Hell Hill beforehand to collect sandals and straight leg joggers I had ordered.

Today I have to go to Mums to do her Lidl shop, and Spec Savers Audiology are visiting this afternoon to do a hearing test for her and review the Aids.

Good luck with stitches today R&L hope it is not too problematic.

At last gM plasterer finally arrived, so frustrating for you that these jobs take forever to happen.

Wishing you all the best day possible.

ginny Tue 09-Jun-26 06:21:49

Good morning, clouds and showers forecast for today here in N. Bucks.
I’ll be trying to keep myself busy today as we had a call to say that our eldest DGS (23) had been knocked off his motorcycle. He is having surgery today to fix a broken leg and ankle. Luckily no other injuries. His protective clothing did its job. So, doubt I’ll be able to settle to much . DD1 will keep us informed.
Hope today is good to you all.

latedecember1963 Tue 09-Jun-26 06:21:50

Good morning everyone from sunny Anglesey.
I'm hoping it's going to stay sunny today as I'd like to get some washing done and out and dried.

Hooray for the plasterer and painters, GrandMattie! 🤩

Hope your stitch removal goes smoothly, RosesandLilac. It might be worth taking a couple of paracetamol before you go to take the edge off if it is uncomfortable.

No real plans for us today. I quite like the odd 'nothing' day.

Wishing you all the best day possible. 🌻

Good morning from Sheffield

I am still recovering from a very busy weekend . The Roxy Music tribute band were excellent, and we had a great time . Trouble is we didn’t get to bed till about one which is four hours later than I normally retire.
A busy Sunday out and about with our friends.
We had a lovely time though, my husband and friend started nursery school together so it’s easy company and we have a good laugh.
So yesterday was left to strip beds, tidy up and get straight.
I was so tired last night, fortunately I did have a good sleep so I’m back to normal today.
I’m not working so I’m going to go into the garden and give it a bit of a tidy up . At the moment the sun is shining but I don’t know if it will last.
I have a volunteer session at teatime, but I will be back home for eight.

Take care everyoneflowers

Grandmabatty Tue 09-Jun-26 06:27:17

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8° and damp. Yesterday ended up a lovely day so I have hopes for today. Roses I hope the stitch removal goes well. GrandMattie a red letter day for you yesterday! Plasterer and outside painting.
Yesterday went well. No disasters from dgs2! I arrived at dds and the boys were already up and leaping about. A big hug from dgs1 set me up for the day. After I dropped them off I came home to make rhubarb jam and it had gone mouldy. I was annoyed with myself for procrastinating on Sunday and not making it then. The rest of the day was quiet. I saw one of my neighbours for a quick chat. Theyre just back from lanzarote. In the afternoon I did an hour in the school library before picking up the boys to bring them to my house. They were ravenous! They ate almost continuously until first dgs1 was picked up for football then dd picked up dgs2. I was busy preparing dinner when dd appeared back again for A3 paper. Dgs1 has to make a poster and do a talk. Hes chosen orcas. Dd thought she had ordered paper but it didnt arrive. After dinner, my other neighbour came over, bringing fresh rhubarb! She stayed for a while for a chat and to tell me about lanzarote. They're planning to sell their property there later this year.
Today I will pick up the boys and bring them to my house for breakfast before taking them to school. Then I will sort out my kitchen and potter about til pick up time. Have a good day all

Just seen your post, Ginny.
My BiL is a motorcyclist and I always do an extra check for them at road junctions.
Hope his surgery goes smoothly.
It doesn't matter how old they are, we still worry about them. 💐

karmalady Tue 09-Jun-26 06:27:26

Good morning from cool. breezy s somerset and crikey, it is raining again

A very busy day yesterday, tail wagging the dog situation, I decided to sew for an hour before bed, to relax my mind. It worked. It is very tricky here wrt the road/access situation at the moment, maybe will take another few weeks

I need to get a car battery this afternoon, I had a sign that my battery was starting to fail and am never going to chance that again, being somewhere and not being able to start my car

I did try my toile bodice and abandoned that size, I had shortened it a bit and the sizing was a bit small I have almost caught up with myself.

Wardrobe has had a clean and sort, I still have a tall elfa basket unit to divide, parts ordered and could well arrive here today. Half is destined for the sewing room wardrobe and half back to my wardrobe so I can put shorter tops above. Its a nuisance having a wardrobe with side alcoves. The de-cluttering I have done has enabled me to make the changes. The half going into the sewing room will be perfect for pattern storage

So a mixed bag day, no chance of going to the allotment and my sourdough starter is rising, I will have to make bread later too

Grandmabatty Tue 09-Jun-26 06:29:21

Ginny what a worry for you! I'll keep your grandson in my thoughts ❤️

Sar53 Tue 09-Jun-26 06:37:40

Good morning from the Essex coast where it is bright and sunny at the moment.
DH has an eye appointment at the hospital at 8.30 so an early start for us.
This evening we have our monthly committee meeting.
I hope today is a good one for you all x

kittylester Tue 09-Jun-26 06:38:05

Good morning all from a dry and bright North Leicestershire.

Up early as Dh has to collect a volunteer drive at 8.30 and his route to her house and then to the hospital has a series of road closures. I ghave choir and then coffee and cake various members.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Bellasnana Tue 09-Jun-26 06:49:19

Good morning from Malta where a sunny day is dawning with a high of 36°C😎

Glad to hear you got ‘plastered’ at long last grandMattie and that the painters have made a start outside. As they say ‘everything comes to he who waits’😅

ginny awful news about your DGS, a dreadful shock for you all. I do hope he will make a full recovery after the surgery.🙏🏻

Good luck with your stitches coming out Llfl. Tw weeks seems a long time. I despair of the difficulties folk go through to see a doctor or nurse.

Grandmabatty what is it with small boys? Our two are always hungry too with DGS1 saying pitifully ‘I need to eeeeat’ as if we’d been starving him!😄

I had a wasted day yesterday as I didn’t feel too good (not gong into details as it’s TMI ) but I ended up going back to bed and sleeping for two and a half hours. I still slept until 7.30 this morning, with a couple of pit stops, but I feel as though I’ve been drugged.

I might go to the village this morning if I can get going before the heat of the day. It’s getting too hot to be out and about much.

This evening is the boys’ concert at school so I will enjoy seeing them perform! I won’t enjoy the barbecue that follows so may leave after the show.

Always thinking of Madeleine and missing her. It seems we are not going to find out what has happened to her.😞

Hoping you all have the best day you can.🤗

GrannyGravy13 Tue 09-Jun-26 06:54:35

Good morning from a cloudy corner of S E Essex.

I will have to wake The Imp up soon for his 8am school start. His brother the 11yr old has also stayed over along with DD 🤷‍♀️(who will probably have a lay in) The boys have requested boiled eggs and soldiers for breakfast, so that is what I shall be cooking.

I shall go to the farm shop this morning on the way to M & S Food Hall to pick up an order, and get some food bits.

Hope your stitch removal goes well RosesandLilac

Hope your DH hospital appointment shows his eye is improving.

Have a good day 🙋‍♀️

Gagagran Tue 09-Jun-26 07:08:13

Good Morning all from a dry (so far) central south coast. 12 degrees on the garden thermometer. Hopefully we are promised an improvement from Friday onwards.

DH managed to replace the outside light on the corner of the garage yesterday but had to keep dodging short, sharp showers. We couldn't test it till dusk but it works and looks good It's a more modern style than the previous old lantern type.

My cold has eased considerably and I am hoping to be fit for choir tomorrow evening and the concert on Saturday. Fingers crossed anyway.

My big brother is still fighting sepsis in hospital and I await today's update with some trepidation.

Glad you got plastered at last GM - your patience must have been wearing very thin! We seem to have to wait for everything for so much longer these days and time is short for many of us!

Kind thoughts to all with worries or struggles and hope for resolutions very soon.

Redcar Tue 09-Jun-26 07:22:30

Good morning everyone from mid Essex, it was sunny earlier but is now cloudy and trying to rain. Yesterday was wet to begin with but we did see the sun in the afternoon for a while. Today will be another cool showery day. I had two walks yesterday and didn’t get wet.
It was supposed to be sports day at my DGDs school yesterday but it has been postponed until Friday.
I may go to the garden centre this morning to buy plants for my newly weed free front garden. I’ll see my dementia friend later.
grandmattie at last, your plastering is done and the outside painting has started! I hope it’s not too messy and disruptive.

rosesandlilac I hope the stitch removal goes well, enjoy your breakfast!

ginny I hope your dgs’s surgery goes well and that he will soon be up and about again.

bellasnana I hope you have a better day today and enjoy your dgs’s concert this evening.

Thinking of all those who aren’t posting at the moment for whatever reason, we miss you all.

Have the best day you can everyone.

baubles Tue 09-Jun-26 07:29:16

Good morning from damp South Lanarkshire. This weather is getting me down although the sun did make a very late appearance yesterday evening.

I had another stint at the ironing board yesterday, DH is now under strict instructions not to wear certain linen shirts before our holiday.

I hope you feel much better today Bella and that the surgery goes well for your DGS ginny.

It’s my day for the shop but before i go in I’ll have a quick look around the town at the decorated windows of all the shops and businesses. It’s Gala Week in our wee town, we’ve already had the Music Fest, the Raft Race and the Duck Race, a very busy time for all involved. Our church held the service on Sunday evening and we served teas afterwards, it was very well attended and we had lots of appreciative comments from our guests.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Greyduster Tue 09-Jun-26 07:29:49

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire. It’s quite bright at the moment but the forecast is for rain later. I slept like a top last night.

My new cordless mower arrived yesterday and though I hadn’t intended to use it just yet, I ran it over the front lawn at tea time and was very impressed with it. I think we shall be friends!

School this afternoon with my Year 3 readers. I’m hoping to walk there but it’s looking doubtful.

Have the best day you can, folks.

brook2704 Tue 09-Jun-26 07:32:33

Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’ve light grey clouds but it’s dry, showers in the forecast for later
Oh goodness ginny what a worry about your DGS, I hope the op goes well today and he recovers quickly
Hoping you get better news about your brother Gaga
Yesterday the weather was quite warm and sunny for most of the day and I enjoyed working in the garden, I was tired but happy at the end of the day and the garden bin was full. Today I’ve got a volunteering session this morning and then I might go into town for a browse around the shops.
Well done with your weed free front garden redcar - we’ve still a way to go!
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Gingster Tue 09-Jun-26 07:32:48

Good morning all and it’s sunny here at the Suffolk seaside. A chilly breeze still.

Yesterday we had torrential downpours and I was stuck in the summerhouse with little pooch for some long time. I came in eventually to watch the tennis, which was rained off.

The Estate Agent came early to replace the loft hatch. He’s very tall and had a ladder but it was a tricky manoeuvre and I feared for him tumbling down the stairs. I had quite a chat with him about being here when surveyors etc are visiting. They’ve been less than respectful in our absence.

Today I’m going shopping with my neighbour. We have plenty of food but I do need other things - batteries, black sacks etc.

Sorry to hear about your gs Ginny . Thankfully ‘just’ a couple of broken bones 🙏.

Hope all goes well for Rosesandlilac as well as Sars Dh. 🤞

Take care and I hope all your days are ‘good’ ones.☔️

hollysteers Tue 09-Jun-26 07:45:19

Good morning from a brightening Penzance.
A lovely day yesterday taking a boat to St. Michael’s Mount which Marzipan will know and entails a trudge over rough ground to the top, it well worth it for the views and history. And we had sun!

In the evening to Mousehole and another nice meal. Today to the Minack theatre so will wrap up as out on the open. My DD is our very efficient tour guide and sets the itinerary.

Thoughts to RosesandLilacSar ginny and all

Gelisajams Tue 09-Jun-26 07:47:42

Good morning Mick and everyone from Morecambe Bay where we have had rain of Biblical proportions overnight. I hope it’s got it out of its system as we are taking the camper on a road trip. We have sites booked for the next three days and will book ahead as we go along. Our return trip will cover some of the places my paternal ancestors came from.
We are heading off somewhere near Barnsley for our first stop and a visit to Canon Hall will be in order.
I got a call from the practice nurse yesterday afternoon regarding the swab she took from my ear. She sounded very surprised when I said my ear was now fine and had responded well to the drops she prescribed, as the results were back and showed a nasty infection. We agreed I would collect a prescription from the surgery but only use it if a further problem develops. I don’t really want to be taking a course of antibiotics unless essential.
At last GMattie about time!
I hope your stitches are removed painlessly R&L and there are no further problems.
Take care everyone 🌸
