NannyJan I like the sound of your mom's trip, I saw a programme the other day where a boat owner did trips with people from day centres and they all thoroughly enjoyed it. 🤞 with the cleaner sounds like she may be a keeper.

Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’ve blue sky with a few fluffy white clouds, hoping it stays dry today
Good news Ash so pleased for you
I’m off to the gym this morning, I should have been doing a couple of classes but I’ve just cancelled one of them, I’m not feeling that motivated just now After the class I’m meeting a friend for coffee, that’s the best bit! I’ll then walk into town, I’ve a couple of returns to take back yo M&S and then I’ll get the bus home
Gagagran so sad to hear about your brother ❤️
Thinking of everyone withw worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning all from a cloudy North Leicestershire.

A gentle start this morning as we are going to Hemel Hempstead this afternoon to collect DGD2 AND 3 and bring them here for the weekend. Their parents are going to Dublin for the weekend with friends. They are easy to have around but quite lively. Wish us luck.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning from Sandringham where it is dry, and a better day weather wise is promised. It was so wet yesterday travelling down the east coast we didn’t stop for long anywhere.
DH is still snoring. He must be tired from all the driving. When he wakes up we will have another walk in the woods of the Sandringham Estate before moving on. The woods here are very different to the woods at home which are more dense and support a wide range of flora. Here there are lots of both very tall conifers and deciduous trees but the undergrowth is very sparse with ferns growing.
Thinking of all with troubles. Take care🌸

GrannyGravy13 Fri 12-Jun-26 07:44:25

Gelisajams I love Sandringham Estate, one of my happy places

Gingster Fri 12-Jun-26 07:50:24

Good morning all and it’s fine here at the moment Suffolk by the sea.
Yesterday the rain started just as Liberty arrived 11 ish and didn’t stop for the rest of the day. We had lunch at the beach cafe (only ones there) and a lovely few hours chatting . Always good to see her.

I’ll strip the beds today and have a good tidy round. Take some things home that I have room for and hopefully see some tennis.

DS2 will be picking us up tomorrow morning.

What a wet week we’ve had but it’s been nice to be here.

Gagasgran so sorry to hear about your big brother.🙏.

Take care ☔️

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 12°C. I feel dreadful, after getting little sleep. I was up at 4am, looking for painkillers.

DH has yet another appointment for bloods, first thing. He has asked me to drive, through that scary junction, which is odd. He usually insists on driving.

Normally, I would go to Sainsbury's or Silverburn on a Friday, but it will have to be Morrisons, which I am not keen on. However, it is on the way home and I am too tired to go anywhere.
They do have a very good fish counter, so it will be fish and chips tonight.

Nothing was done in the garden yesterday, due to the torrential rain. The ground is sodden.
Dobies had a online plant sale yesterday, I was seduced. I can justify it, I got £114's worth of plants for £44, I just need to find the time and energy.

Gaga, you must be heartbroken.♥️

Karma you are so skilled, I love the colour of your dress.♥️

Dragonfly, glad your DH was OK. Sainsbury's TU clothing have a sale on.--and I will miss it.~~. 🤬

I wish you all a pleasant day and as always, thinking of our mountaineers,

Jaxjacky Fri 12-Jun-26 07:56:29

Morning from a dry S Hants, yesterday was wet and cold.
I’m so sorry about your brother Gagagran not good news.
Yesterday was the nurse for bloods, did me quickly.
The first wash is on, grocery delivery pm, pub tonight.
Enjoy your day if you can all.

Marydoll Fri 12-Jun-26 07:56:29

Ash excellent news!

Grandmabatty Fri 12-Jun-26 07:57:12

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 12° and dry, although cloudy. Gagagran I am really sorry to hear about your brother.
Yesterday was quiet. I did some tidying in the school library. I didnt stay long as the nursery was there, including dgs2. When I went to leave, he came for a cuddle and half the group formed a queue for cuddles too! The rest of the day was spent pottering about inside because of rain. I discovered a new series called Paradise which I'm enjoying.
Today will be a housework day, I think. I'm up later because I was awake in the night for over 2 hours. Eventually I got up and had a cup of tea. So nothing much planned for today. Have a good day all.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 12-Jun-26 07:57:16

Sending you a hug Gagagran 😿

Good morning from a sunny Suffolk where, after such a start yesterday,we had heavy rain from late morning for several hours. That didn’t stop a really lovely time with Gingster for a few hours.

Today is my ‘ special ‘ birthday as described by our youngest DGC…..my 80th. DH is taking me out for lunch at a restaurant about half an hour’s drive away that we haven’t been to for ages and DS1 has arranged lunch on Sunday at a favourite place in Aldeburgh.

Our whole family celebration isn’t til the August Bank holiday weekend when the 3 DGC’s exams will be over, results known and next stages decided. Given our 8 range in ages from 9 to 20 we decided to take all 16 of us to Potters,an all inclusive holiday resort with a huge range of activities including golf, archery, swimming both in the sea and indoor and outdoor pools( I think)as well as craft activities and many more.

The younger ones are thrilled at the idea of endless ice creams, milk shakes etc.

Hope today is a good one for all with some sunshine for at least part of it. Now for my 2nd cup of tea and to read your posts.

grandMattie Fri 12-Jun-26 08:02:09

Monk yes, fingers crossed this Cleaner works out, she seems like a really lovely lady, found via Age Concern.

I am sure she will enjoy the canal trip, virtually along the area she grew up in.

Good morning from Shropshire.Another dull and drizzly start.

A meeting with my diabetes nurse turned into a social occasion which was lovely. When I was ill last year all my major organs were affected and although I would say I am mainly recovered my pancreas still hasn’t got the message🙄I was so pleased to know my kidneys are at gold standard as they were the worst affected and my pancreas is doing way better than I thought😅

We will enjoy a quiet morning before collecting DGD and DGS2 from school. We are looking after them until Wednesday 🤪

Gagagran I am so sorry to hear about your brother.I hope your granddaughter feels better today.Thank goodness for grandpa’s.

Good news Ash🥳

Hope the day goes well Marydoll.

Thinking of our absent friends and wishing all with worries and struggles a better day.

I've started to box up the contents of our lounge ready to have new carpet laid, will do more today.

Georgesgran Fri 12-Jun-26 08:34:08

Good morning from a dull, windy Durham. Not a lot on today, but more phone calls to make - online chat isn’t possible. I’ll start packing for my holiday, we fly tomorrow lunchtime.

💐Gagagran I hope your DB is comfortable.
🎂Liberty
MD wishing you and DH a better day.

Best wishes to all. X

cornergran Fri 12-Jun-26 08:39:47

Bally Birthday liberty.

That’s very good news ash. Slight envy here at the excellent level of follow up care you receive from cardiology. Mr C had a mitral valve repair and an artery replacement three years ago when he was 80. Just one follow up appointment since after 6 months. No echo, that was for the next appointment which should have been six months later. We’ve been told he was moved to a two year checkup and that clinic is running 142 weeks late. It’s so disappointing as surgery was both speedy and professional. Having said all that I’m very pleased your experience is better.
