Good morning from Malta where it’s sunny and the high is 33°C today.

I didn’t go out yesterday, stayed in and stripped the bed, steam mopped the floors and did a few other household chores. The sheets dried in no time on the line so I put them back on the bed and ironed them in situ, much less faff than getting the ironing board out!

I watched the tennis, pleased Raducanu seems to be doing so much better.

Had a long FaceTime chat with DD2 as she drove to a softball game. Her DH had taken DGD so she was joining them. It looked extremely hot to be playing softball, I don’t know how they do it.

I was very upset to have missed Trooping the Colour in the morning but it was repeated in the evening on BBC2 so I was able to see it then. I do love a bit of ceremonial and nobody does it like the Brits!

I think the boys might be coming over this morning which means I will miss Mass. There’s only one in English at 11.30, all the others are in Maltese.

Hope you all have a good day.☀️

Good morning from a very still, balmy Cornwall where I've just been out on my patio. The round thing is a new fishing float I found yesterday, put out for anyone to collect on someone's doorstep. The sort of thing that delights me! 😂

A lot of things are suddenly changing in my life at the moment so today I will go to my church family and enjoy their welcoming company, coffee and cake before the service. After that I'll probably have lunch in Macdonald's before I come home to do more wild wood gardening, if it could be called that. Branch-wrangling, more like it. 😄

All day sun today so like yesterday I'll be back indoors by mid afternoon.

Good morning from s somerset, it is going to be a beautiful day

The whole week`s washing done yesterday, no messing and I was able to put the rotary away in the garage afterwards. It was a perfect drying day. A beautiful day all round, gardening too and I did some tree lopping, preventative to prevent one side of a tall crabapple being too heavy and the tree succumbing to the prevailing wind.

It was time to cut the cranesbills back, so I did that and again my hotbins are full to the brim, making lovely compost. The ground cover sedums are going to burst into colour very soon and the echinacea clumps are looking strong. No grass here

I picked one knitting project and became familiar with the pattern again, I only did a row but there are many stitches and the needles are 2mm. I am going to make that gansey my sit-down project for the rest of this year

No plans for today, I will have a rest day with some exercise

Good morning from a sunny Torbay.

Another fan of Trooping the Colour here, especially hearing the bands. How impressive to see Princess Anne on horseback as the King's representative although he was there under a canopy.

I enjoyed the Coffee Morning yesterday and the chance to catch up with some church friends I haven’t seen for a few weeks. Bonus: I won a raffle prize - a pack of M & S chocolate wafers!

Early service today then I’m going out for lunch with two theatre friends. One has offered to drive which is kind although I could have easily travelled there by bus.

A blessed Sunday to all. 🦩💐✝️🥰🦩

Good morning all from the Black country still overcast at the moment but I believe it will be sunny later.
Family are here for dinner and will give DS his birthday presents he didn't want them when I saw him yesterday.
Marzipan I do like your garden it seems so magical.
Enjoy your rest day Karmalady you always appear to be so busy you make me tired just reading of your day.
Well have a good day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find a little bit of ☀️.

RosesandLilac Sun 14-Jun-26 06:29:40

Good morning, a bright Sunday morning here in south Glos.
What a pretty garden Marzipan, I love collecting bits for the garden too.
Tiddler and I spent several hours in my Shed, very peaceful watching the birds on the feeders. The woodpecker fledgelings are the same size as their parents now, we have young blue tits, great tits, sparrows and goldfinches emptying the feeders 😊
There’s a red kite that patrols overhead, it’s a magnificent sight as it floats across the sky.
More of the same today!
Hope today goes well for you all 🌹

Good morning from a sunny Bristol.
I’ve only just woken up after a bad night; I was almost cold but not enough to get up for a blanket.
Yesterday was ok. The coffee and chat went well, although numbers were down - the sunshine methinks. One lady asked me if we carried on in august. I replied that personally, I found August very lonely as everyone seems to go away and everything shuts down. But, yes, we were open 12 moths of the year.
In the evening, I helped serve refreshments at the “pre-conservertoire” concert. My word but those youngsters are good. There were two pieces I hadn’t known which were glorious.
Today, the usual, church then nothing much.
I hope you all have a blessed Sunday. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from Sheffield

I too had a bad night with not much sleep and I hope to go on a bike ride today as well. I will go, I enjoy it and it may help me sleep better tonight.
I’m sorry August is a bad month for you GrandMattie. I don’t like to think of you lonely.

The gorgeous Cockapoo is coming for the day although as he arrives we will leave him to go on our bike ride. I wonder what he will think. It will only be for a couple of hours. DS and DGC are going to Alton Towers while DDiL works. I offered a sausage sandwich to take away as they dropped the gorgeous Cockapoo off in jest. They accepted my offer with enthusiasm so 4 sausage sarnies to go at 8.30 it is

Take care everyone flowers

Good morning from NE mids. Clear blue skies and a gentle breeze this morning so hopefully I can spend a couple of hours tackling the weeds that have taken over in the garden following all the rain we’ve had recently. No plans for anything else as family are away for a few days.
Have a good day one and all!

Good morning all from a bright North Leicestershire.

We had a fun day yesterday with DGD2 & 4. After lunch at our favourite cafe in the village the youngest decided she would make me some gf cookies. She found a recipe, wrote a shopping list abd set about the actual baking. She is very competent and very determined (!!) so everyone was banished from the kitchen. The end results were delicious and she even cleaned the kitchen.

DH is aiming to make them to a nature fair this morning while i cook lunch. We take them home this afternoon.

baubles Sun 14-Jun-26 07:02:46

Good morning from dry and bright South Lanarkshire.

Yesterday was Gala Day so DH and I walked down to watch the floats and the bands, the sky looked grey and threatening but thankfully the rain held off. There were some very imaginative costumes and the children looked excited and happy.

DH and a few of the neighbours had tickets to watch the Scotland World Cup match at our local hotel which is a convenient five minute walk away. Oddly I couldn’t sleep until he went out at 12.30 and I heard their voices as they returned just after 4 am.

Today will be busy, the Bishop is coming to celebrate Mass this morning so we’ll serve teas in the hall afterwards then DH and I are going out for lunch with his siblings. I’ll be all peopled out after that.

My eldest DGD is off to Italy on a school trip, she’s very excited and promises to send lots of photos.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

ginny Sun 14-Jun-26 07:06:38

Good morning.
Blue sky here in N. Bucks too. I’m very pleaded as we have all the family coming for a meal late afternoon so hoping to be in the garden. Jacket potatoes, various salads, coronation chicken (homemade).
Lemon posset or apple crumble for pud.
Before that I’m off to meet my scrapbooking friends for a few hours.
Wishing all a good day and hope our poorly and troubled friends find some relief.

Jaxjacky Sun 14-Jun-26 07:06:38

Morning from a sunny S Hants.
Yesterday’s washing, including bedding, dried easily as we still had a breeze.
The garden is looking lovely and we lifted some early potatoes, they were very tasty with dinner.
Family here later for bbq, it’ll be good to see them all.
Enjoy your day.

Gagagran Sun 14-Jun-26 07:18:09

Good Morning all from a sunny central south coast and it is warmer too.

Well, I didn't make it to the choir concert last night after a spectacular fall into our large and thorny rose garden before lunch. I was deadheading and either tripped or missed my step and went flying into the middle of them. I ended up facing the wrong way with my head on the ground in the middle of the bed and legs on the lawn.
A very kind passer by chap helped DH haul me out, shocked, shaky and bleeding. I have a black eye, skinned hands (sore) with cuts and bruised my ribs which are the most painful injury. Sore and stiff this morning but trying to keep mobile as Google recommends. Luckily no breaks. So I hope to start to recover and rest today. DH is doing the laundry.

I'd had my hair done for the concert too! Not enhanced by leaves, twigs, dirt and blood! Pretty petals though.

Take care everyone - do NOT recommend diving into rose gardens!

Good morning all and we’re back in sunny Essex. Sad to leave the sea but good to be home.

DS2 and DGD arrived by 10 . We all sat round for a light breakfast, packed everything in his car and set off to tackle the A12 which behaved beautifully.

Home in 1hr 30 , stopping off for lunch courtesy of M and S.
His electric car was charged in 10 minutes .
Isn’t it great when everything works well!

Back in time to watch Raducanu get through to the finals.

Washing to be done today .
I expect family will visit.
I really need a new phone, so hope one of them will sort it for me. 🤞.

I love seeing pics of your patio Marzipan, so interesting.
Like you, lots of things changing in my life , at the moment. Some of them aren’t very welcome! We just have to deal with it don’t we! 🫤.

Take care all and enjoy this lovely weather (if you have it).☀️

Gingster Sun 14-Jun-26 07:22:48

Gagagran poor you. Take it easy today and rest up.

EkwaNimitee Sun 14-Jun-26 07:22:51

Good morning Mick and everybody from sunny Carlisle.
My visitors, DS1 and my Sis-in-Law went yesterday after we'd had a busy two days roaring about north Cumbria....in spite of ceaseless rain on the Thursday.

Today I'm about to depart on a short walk in the park in the hopes it will do me good! I've various strained leg muscles and an achey back all of which I suspect are side effects of tapering off my steroids. Then it will be back to laundry and tidying up. I think I'll have to give gardening a miss in view of the dicky muscles.

Have a lovely day everyone if you can.

luluaugust Sun 14-Jun-26 07:29:53

Good morning from a sunny W Kent
Oh dear *Gagagran^ what a nasty thing to happen, glad you didn’t break anything
Lovely day yesterday, DB arrived and we went to DD2 for tea and cake, DB had a birthday next week. She has a beautiful garden which we enjoyed sitting in
Today we have booked lunch out at a new restaurant, fingers crossed and then hoping to see DS
Best wishes all round
