Harry and Meghan. UK Visit.

Just been reading about H&M’s forthcoming proposed visit to the UK with their children, pertaining to the Invictus Games which are due to take place next year.

Apparently, it’s a private visit, and accommodation has been offered to them on a ‘Royal estate’, but no mention of where or if it’s been accepted.

Security issues not revealed, plus whether or not it involves meeting up with the King.

We shall wait and see how it all evolves.

People are indeed entitled to their opinions. That goes without saying.

Mine is that it is unkind and unnecessary to criticise this young family who are dealing with a family rift. And that this is one of the things that contributes to them feeling they need protection in the UK.

I’m not going to read the previous 20 pages because I know I’ll end up spluttering in rage. I’ll pin my flag to the mast now and declare myself on Team Megan.

Harry is a good man. He had his reasons for not going into the Family Business. Good reasons.

Silvershadow Sun 12-Jul-26 12:02:56

They’re not a young family though are they? They re both in their mid 40s. Any dislike of them is solely as a result of their own actions. Of course Harry was smiling and larking around for the cameras. That’s what he does and it’s worked in the past for him cheeky chapped Harry, must forgive him anything because he walked behind his mother’s coffin. Never mind he slagged of the whole family in print, his wife’s relentless envy of Catherine, the stress on the Queen, Prince Phillip, Charles and Camilla, William and Kate. So long as this selfish man is acting the happy happy we must all like him.

Funnily enough William also lost his mother, walked behind that same coffin. He’s not trying to bring down a newspaper, ruin the careers of journalists simply doing their jobs, slipping pills into the tongue of a young girl at a house party, stripping of naked in Las Vegas, writing tell all books in which he luridly describes his todger and that of his brother. I could list much more.

But so long as happy chappy Harry is laughing and acting the clown, getting what he wants, taking absolutely no responsibility and always blaming others then that’s ok then. Never mind everyone else he infects with his behaviour.

Young couple, they are both mid 40s. Time to grow up.

Yes but now he wants back in, doesn’t he. Funny that.

Absolutely Silvershadow
High time he grew up. That 'cheeky chap' act is looking embarrassing now...

Not a critical thinker then?

Well you cant help that but at least you’re honest about your own failings.

He did have good reasons I agree.

Smileless2012 Sun 12-Jul-26 12:21:42

Good reasons to leave the 'Family Business' I'm sure. Good reasons to behave in the way he has since doing so; can't think of any.

Indeed!

MissAdventure Sun 12-Jul-26 12:53:38

Everybody is an individual.
In any family the children react differently to the same situation. Harry doesn't have to be a carbon copy of William (who behaves like a 60 year old, IMO)

MawsRosie Sun 12-Jul-26 13:02:28

What’s wrong with being 60?
I wish I could remember but I think I had a lot of fun 🫪🫪🫪

Lathyrus3 Sun 12-Jul-26 13:07:08

I thought Maws post as purely observational - that he does seem much more relaxed when he is carrying out public engagements by himself.

Personally I’m not a fan of the “goofy”, over the top persona and that applies across the board for me, regardless of who it is. So that’s a statement about me rather than a criticism of him.

Its a partisan view to cry against criticism of some people as unkind and unjustified by knowledge but then to deliver in exactlythe same vein criticisms of others🤔

merlotgran Sun 12-Jul-26 13:09:30

If taking his role as heir to the throne with the seriousness and dedication it requires is ‘behaving like a 60 yr old’ then I’d say the monarchy is lucky he’s the elder son.

His father and wife - both at the top of the royal tree have needed his support with their cancer treatment. His children are young. George in particular needs guidance.

There must be days when William feels 60. We’re lucky to have him and not his self serving, disloyal younger brother.

Gosh. Is that a bit of vitriol? It feels like it.

We don’t like vitriol do we?

We think it’s unkind and unnecessary.

Lathyrus3 Sun 12-Jul-26 13:15:53

Actually given what he’s had to deal with in the past two or three years, that comment really couldn’t have been nastier.

barbourgirl Sun 12-Jul-26 13:24:38

i agree with Silvershadow.I cannot understand how they have the nerve to arrive in England expecting everyone to welcome them with open arms after all the drivel they have written and spoken about the Royal family,Also has Meghan no respect for her own family . How does she think they feel reading all the hype of this visit to Uk knowing they have been shunned for years.

Everybody is indeed an individual and nobody expects him to be a carbon copy of William. William may seem like 60 to you, but given what he’s had to cope with in his life: the death of his mother and beloved grandparents, his father and wife going through cancer treatment and the treacherous traitor that is his brother, plus all the responsibility he has had to shoulder as a result who could blame him for looking older than his years. Frankly, I don’t think he does, he looks not dissimilar to my own sons in laws both of whom are mid 40s like him.

barbourgirl Sun 12-Jul-26 14:01:31

Harry is still acting like a little boy. All that nonsense with Alison Hammond, all for show. they are carbon copies of the Duke of York and Mrs Simpson and should have been treated the same.

I do not think they had this expectation which is why they felt the need for protection.

However many have welcomed him with open arms.

MarieElla Sun 12-Jul-26 14:14:38

Not that many have welcomed him.
And Meghan would have been either ignored or booed, had she appeared in public.
Wise move not to have had. Her fragile ego would have suffered.

I am deeply intrigued about this level of unkindness and cannot begin to understand what motivates it.

MissAdventure Sun 12-Jul-26 15:29:42

I wasn't referring to William's looks, particularly.

Aveline Sun 12-Jul-26 16:15:03

Luckygirl13 have you read Harry's book or watched their Netflix programmes? You might understand how most of us feel towards them after that.
