Good morning, Michael12 and everyone!
It was my usual day off work yesterday, but while I'd normally go to my favourite cafe for brekkie, I just couldn't because of the weather. It was about 27 but felt more like 127!
I only left my flat to go to Spar for 2 packs of saccharin as I don't ever have sugar in my tea, just sweeteners, but I was back home as soon as I possibly could.
Other than the front door, all doors and windows/blinds were wide open, and fans in all rooms, other than the shower room, were whizzing around at speed for hours.
I went out in my t-shirt and shorts, but when I arrived home, my t-shirt was so much caked in sweat I couldn't get it off, as the sweat was stuck to me like glue, so I had to literally cut it off!
I drank gallons of cold drinks and 2 mugs of tea during the day, but had nothing to eat - too hot even for cold stuff - and was so agonisingly hot I actually was in tears a couple of times! I thought it was going to be a case of spontaneous human combustion!
About 10:30 pm, I scoffed 2 Spar discount yoghurts and a cuppa and tried to go back to bed, but was swimming in sweat just minutes later and badly missing a lot of sleep, so today at work I'm an exhausted, hot, overly sticky, sweaty mess with a tumping headache!
I've not even done any reading or YouTube obsessing, but I'll make up for it as soon as I can! I have a book called The Demon Code by Adam Blake, which needs my attention!
And such heatwaves can cause leg infections, which I've got in my left leg! I've had them before with such weather, so instead of going to the doctor, I fill myself with Nurofen, which is a big help.
See you all later!
