Good morning Michael and all GNs from a cool grey South Yorkshire. I’ve been awake for ages. Seem to be lapsing back into a silly sleep pattern again.

Yesterday’s session with the chiropractor went very well. I feel we’re making a lot of progress, and she’s a lovely person. Never short of something to say and very funny. I came home and weeded all the gravel and the paving in and around the patio, so it looks very tidy now - for a while! But everything is so dry. I do hope we have some rain soon.

This morning I must do some ironing, then school this afternoon. I should be able to walk there and back now it’s cooler.

Have the best day you can, folks.

Good morning from a cool Bristol.
My washing is nearly done, ready for the line. Rain is threatened in the late morning, but, although I’m not holding my breath, I don’t want to risk it not drying.
I was very annoyed yesterday, having psyched myself up for the journey to hospital for the dermatologist, only to receive a call at 2pm to cancel my 4pm appointment because “they hadn’t been told the doctor wasn’t on duty “!
Instead I finished a skirt using one of the African prints; DS was delighted with my trousers.
Today, apart from the washing, I’ve got to bake for tomorrow’s FAB cafe. We have the last sponsored live concert for the moment and the attendance can be between 60 and 120. It is a ukulele band, which is terrific fun, apparently. I loathe ukes…
I shall just sit in the afternoon as all that energetic preparation, serving and tidying up takes the stuffing out of me.
I have contacted bellasnan; she is keeping a low profile atm, after an undeserved drubbing on another post. Some people can be so unkind.
I hope md DT al are ok today, that fgt is now safely arrived in her happy place, and that everyone else is in an ok place. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from a cool rather grey N Surrey.

I pottered in the garden with my cup of coffee when it was just getting light. Filled the bird baths. I have 3. One a proper one. One an upturned old fashioned metal dustbin lid wedged into some gravel to keep it steady and one a deep wide circular plant pot tray. Its ceramic so quite heavy and steady. That one is on the steps outside the kitchen patio doors and my fearless robins bath in it. And drink from it.

I hope Bellasnana comes back soon. Her posts are a delight. This particular thread is so interesting. I like reading about day to day life in different counties and countries.
Enjoy today whatever you do. Chin up those feeling down.

Good morning from a wet and overcast Belfast.
Not sure what I am doing today. My floors need steaming supposed to clean them yesterday but I took a lazy fit and read my book instead.
Anyhow have a good day everyone.

Marzipan22 Tue 30-Jun-26 05:47:02

Good morning from Cornwall. A lovely breeze is wafting across my bed from my patio window. My daughter is just trying to ring me from Liverpool where her husband is in hospital so I must answer that. Meanwhile here are two photos from my life-affirming trip to St Ives yesterday. Portmeor Beach from inside the Tate Gallery. And their lift which has become an artwork. 😆

karmalady Tue 30-Jun-26 05:51:31

Good morning from s somerset, cloudy today and a nice temperature

Sewing session was very enjoyable yesterday, I will continue that today and also go for a walk, up a hill because the exercise routine has been neglected.

My car is disgustingly dusty and taken over by spiders, I think I will drive to a car wash first

Llamas99 Tue 30-Jun-26 06:25:35

I too miss Bellasnana on this thread! Her posts are a pleasure to read! I enjoy reading about all the doings on GM. You are the most energetic and accomplished group.

Astitchintime Tue 30-Jun-26 06:27:31

Good morning from an overcast NE Mids. The rogue potatoes didn’t get lifted yesterday……..I got distracted by feeding the beetroot and picking raspberries. Maybe I’ll tackle those squatting spuds today 🤔.
Have a good day one and all!

Melanie61 Tue 30-Jun-26 06:43:46

Good morning from Sheffield

I too had a disturbed night, I was awake for a couple of hours.
Not sure what to do today. A few jobs in the garden to do, then I have my volunteer session at teatime.

I felt ashamed yesterday. I have a fully tiled bathroom, white. I thought I will wipe the walls down. I can’t remember when I last did them. They were filthy! Gleaming now though.

Bellasnana, come back soon. Don’t worry about rude people, no manners. They won’t be worrying about you or what they said. Don’t give them satisfaction that they have upset you. Come back and chat to your friends

Take care everyone flowers

Good morning. Padstow was very busy yesterday so we drove straight back out. Whatever must it be like in the school holidays!
So we did went we normally do and headed for less commercial places on the coast. We made a few stops at small bays and then headed for Crantock . We had a pasty and icecream then spent a couple of lazy hours sitting watching the tide come in .see photo.
Today’s forecast is for rain so our destination is Pencarrow. We’ll have a walk in the grounds and then into the house when it rains.
Hope today is a pleasant one for everyone .

Greyduster Tue 30-Jun-26 06:55:31

Thankyou for the photo of Crantock, Ginny. We spent so many lovely holidays there when GS was younger, staying at an apartment complex further up the beach. It was his favourite place.

Ashcombe Tue 30-Jun-26 06:55:48

Good morning from a cloudy and cool Torbay where we appear to have had a little light rain overnight!

Yesterday I struggled to complete some of the exercises at my Move It or Lose It session due to creaky knees but they were more cooperative by the evening when I attended a rehearsal for Yes, Prime Minister in which I have a very minor rôle as a BBC announcer/interviewer. This will be brought to the stage for a two week run in August.

I was pleased to see Madeleine had returned yesterday and I hope other absentees will soon be back. Happy, safe holidays to those who are away and a good day to you all!

Good morning Mick and all from a cloudy Morecambe Bay. Rain is promised for later.
Yesterday’s trip out with DS2 turned out to be very pleasant much to my surprise. He was calm and chatty and we both enjoyed visiting the newly refurbished Harris museum.
This morning I shall perform miracles in a clients garden. Well that’s the brief!
She has a rose, bought as a present which is far too big for her small garden and was planted against a five foot fence. My task, as well as general weeding and tidying up, is to tame it without cutting it back. Mmmm. I shall do my best. I mustn’t forget my gauntlets.
This afternoon is a trip to Manchester to visit DS1. DGD will make a rare appearance and we will wish her well for her eighteenth (and top up her bank account!)
The noisy workmen have arrived which has disturbed DH and Crazy dog so I’ll sign off and get up. Take care everyone 🌸.

BlueSapphire Tue 30-Jun-26 06:58:15

Good morning everyone from a cloudy Northampton, a much cooler day expected.

Got a few household tasks done yesterday; washed the towels, then stripped and changed the bed and also got the.bedding washed and dried as well.
Also managed to deal with the cats' litter tray which is a not very pleasant but necessary job.

Had a lovely dinner out at a country pub in the evening to celebrate DGD's 16th birthday which is tomorrow. They are all looking forward to their holiday to Lanzarote which starts tomorrow, especially the girls who have just finished GCSEs and A levels. Time to relax for the whole family!

Today is a day out on the bus to Market Harborough to meet some lovely grans from this forum! Hoping the forecast showers don't arrive to spoil the day.

Wishing all a pleasant day.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 30-Jun-26 07:01:29

Good morning from an overcast but warm S E Essex.

I had a face to face appointment yesterday morning, and I have a chest infection and asthma flare up which in itself is a relief. (I thought my day/night out had totally wiped me out and I was concerned) so unfortunately I am back on the dreaded but necessary steroids along with antibiotics.

Hence once I have got The Imp up and fed (scrambled egg, toast followed by yoghurt) I will take things easy,

Bellasnana has an 0 birthday this week, not sure which day, I do hope she has a fabulous day, with her daughter and those beautiful twins 🥂🎂🎉

luluaugust Tue 30-Jun-26 07:02:00

Good morning from an overcast W Kent. I think I will go and get my hair trimmed today if it is going to get hot again. DH wants to go to a garden centre further away so when I get back we will get on our way.
Very happy memories of St Ives I remember going out with a riding party when I was about 13 and enjoying the scenery and hymn singing on the beach
Best wishes and pleased to see madeleine back with us

HelterSkelter1 Tue 30-Jun-26 07:03:46

All this talk of pasties! Nothing better than sitting on a Cornish beach with one still just warm in a paper bag for lunch. Warm sun blue sky yellow sand.
Pasties are just not the same out of that lovely county.

Sar53 Tue 30-Jun-26 07:23:21

Good morning from the Essex coast where it is cloudy and cooler.
We are having new carpet laid in our lounge today so I have spent the last few days clearing out the room. All that's left is our heavy oak furniture.
I'm hoping there will be two strong men here to move it for us.
I have some admin to do so will keep out of the way.
I hope anyone on holiday is having a lovely time and those with crosses to bear have a better day.
Take care and best wishes to all xx

Redcar Tue 30-Jun-26 07:24:02

Good morning everyone from mid Essex, where it’s grey with blue sky trying to peep through. A more comfortable day yesterday so I went for my usual walk in the morning. I met one of my dog walking friends, but some of the others are missing, probably still suffering from the heat.
I may attempt a little garden tidying this morning then visit my dementia friend this afternoon,

I hope bellasnana has a happy birthday this week and soon feels able to join us in the mornings again.

grannygravy I hope that the dreaded steroids and antibiotics soon have a beneficial effect and you feel better again soon.

bluesapphire enjoy your meet-up with the other gransnetters!

marzipan and ginny thank you for the lovely photos of St Ives and Crantock.

I hope there’s better news from md today and that all those suffering in any way find some relief today.

Have the best day you can everyone.

RosesandLilac Tue 30-Jun-26 07:34:26

Good morning, it’s sunny and already quite warm here on the hillside in south Glos. I went out into the garden at 6.30 and spent 45 minutes yanking out crocosmia and self-sown meadowsweet from a border. That’s my gardening for today!
It’s a very small border but was completely chockablock, the roses were suffocating and it looked a mess.
We’re going to my sister in law’s for lunch which will be nice.
I had a call yesterday from the hospital giving me an appointment for my urgent sigmoidoscopy 😬, it’s less than a week after the urgent request by the gastroenterologist. It threw me a bit because up to now I’ve waited weeks for appointments.
Best wishes to all x
🌹

Good morning all and it’s very still, warm and a bit overcast here in Essex. Rain forecast this afternoon.

Yesterday was fun with our Chimes group, lots of laughter and of course coffee, biscuits and chat afterwards. I got a lift back to town, popped into Iceland (why am I always shopping ? I’d only just had an Ocado delivery) and ‘ran’ back down the hill home.

We watched a few Wimbledon matches. I made a chocolate banana bread with a few very overripe bananas. Most of it is sliced and put into the freezer.

I’m hoping Bellasnanna returns with her morning news. Please don’t let the ‘blighters’ knock you down. That’s what they hope for! 😠.

GG I hope the statins do their magic. Take care and rest up.

Today I have Bridge Club but have to see how little pooch is. She’s under the weather for sure.,

Mmmmm I love a Pasty too. Agree that the best are Cornish (of course). I think you can order them on line.

Take care all and enjoy the cooler weather until the next heatwave 😢.

Ladyleftfieldlover Tue 30-Jun-26 07:38:05

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. It’s going to be warm and possibly wet!

Yesterday’s book group coffee morning was fun. There are several ladies who would like to join but we are quite a large group. It was agreed that there would be a snall splinter group,

After lunch I popped into Waitrose and did a shop.

Today promise to be busy, but not for me! OH is out all day with his target shooting friends. The cleaner is coming this morning, closely followed by a tree surgeon. We are having our over large ceanothus taken down. Hopefully, I will be able to pop to a friend’s house where she is making a group of us a Cream Tea. I love a Cream Tea.

I hope FGT has arrived safely in Malaga.

I too miss Bellasnanna and tales of her twins. If she is reading, and it is indeed her birthday - happy birthday 🎂.

Have a good day.

Jaxjacky Tue 30-Jun-26 07:38:52

Morning from a cooler S Hants, it’s raining! Only lightly, what a pleasant change thought.
Yesterday the voluntary phone was quite busy but all lifts matched by 5.
Lovely Cornish pictures this morning, thank you.
I’ve phone calls to make today, MrJ playing bowls this evening.
I too miss bellas updates and others, * Blossoming* and her walks.
Have a good day Mick and all.

monk08 Tue 30-Jun-26 07:39:19

Good morning all from the Black country where it is a bit cloudy but sun trying to break through showers predicted for the afternoon.
Need to collect rest of DH prescription, then will call into Iceland. Will catch up on some housework and then we are eating out later.
Some lovely photos on here once again.
Have the best day you can everyone whatever your plans, take care and keep cool 😎.
