Good morning all from Glasgow, where it is 15°C, with showers expected.
Poor you, GG, I was close to breaking open my Rescue Pack yesterday, I too have a flare up.
However, I have been told that steroids are a last resort, due to my immunity being at rock bottom, so I held off. I am hoping the prophylactic antibiotics, I am on for life, will be enough to dampen things down.
I do hope you feel better soon.
I too contacted Bellasnanna last week, for I experienced a similar situation a few years ago. It drove me away for a while, at a time, when I was extremely unwell and vulnerable.
Some people have no conception of the impact of their words on a poster; we are not all robust.
I think the best way, is to actually come back and post, don't let them win.
As expected, yesterday's attempt to get a GP appointment was most problematic.
At 7.30am, I went on engage consult, armed with photos, to get a much needed appointment for DH. He was so embarrassed, by the putrid snell emanating from the lesion.
I logged on and was informed DH's password was wrong. It wasn't.
DH had disappeared contrary to instructions. I fell out with him, because he was loading a golf game, he had got for his birthday and couldn't reset his password.🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
When I eventually got in at 7.35 am, there were no slots.
I found out later, that both e consult and the phones were down. 😪
After waiting in a queue, where I was customer ( put in a very large number) , I got to speak to someone. To my relief, I recognised the voice and realised that it was the healthcare assistant, who was covering the phones, because engage wasn't working.
She went to find the on call doctor, came back, informing me, he would call.
A short time later, he did call!
My heart leapt with joy, when I heard the voice of my favourite GP. I explained about DH's hearing problems and I would be speaking (with DH's permission.)
After I explained the circumstances, he asked if I could bring DH down straight away.
The GP mentioned something about DH and his urgent cardiology referral, I explained we had no idea, what he was talking about.
DH had apparently not picked up on this at his GP appointment last week. No wonder I am at the end of my tether!!!
The GP's last words were that, in view of DH missing important info, he recommended, that I should go into the appointment with him.
We saw a lovely, young GP, who was impressed by my diagnosis😉 and photography, praised my cleaning of the wound, prescribed antibiotics and gave DH an appointment for next week, with a view to a dermatology referral.
I explained I had delusions of being a doctor. She thought that was amusing.
It was a very positive experience, including a laugh with the receptionists, when I appeared, yet again at the desk.
I'm off to Silverburn for some respite. I don't think I will be doing much, my cough is horrendous again and I am wheezing, but I need some me time.
Dollie and her parents are in London on holiday. I asked her to send me a photo of her trip on the London Eye. She sent FIFTY THREE !!!!!!!. 🤣
FGT, I hope you have arrived safely.
Have a good day folks.
