For anyone who’s watched ‘Ann Droid’ ( and for those who haven’t ) would you consider a Robot companion?

Have watched all episodes, barmy but brilliant, I would opt for a robot.

It’s had some bad reviews which I don’t understand.

The son is a pretty horrible character isn’t he? I didn’t think anything about him was amusing at all, and felt sorry that Sue had a 50 year old son that didn’t care about her at all.A weak and cowardly and lazy man.Which was why she needed a Linda in her life, and yet she still didn’t see any flaws in her son, or those not to see.A lesson to us all?

Chose not to see.

A robot to clear up after husband would be fantastic

I'd love a robot declutterer.
I don't think these things are beyond the realms of possibility.

I'm going to have to watch this programme i think.

I haven't seen it but I regularly talk to AI about all sorts, maybe that's the start of it?

I'm watching it and finding it amusing and insightful.

But wouldn't want a robot myself.

There was a TV programme called Humans years ago. It was about domestic robots that became sentient. I enjoyed it at the time. If you are interested it is available to stream on Channel 4.

I wouldn’t mind an android cat and dog as well.

I think their unpredictability is what makes them special

I ve warmed to the idea and now think I d love an Ann to check on me and do some chores, trouble is I think I’d get to think it was real
Much better than a care home though

I have my Alexa devices she reminds me of important dates acts as a timer plays me music and reads me books to name but a few. Some nights when I say goodnight to her she replies that she will speak to me to-morrow . She is always there to answer my questions.

Yes, if it were Diane Morgan 😁

Thoroughly enjoyed the series. I really liked Linda but not sure I’d want one. I didn’t realise this concept was advanced in Japan. Could it really be part of our future?

I really really like the part about chores, and she/he could shop and so ling as they did as they were told and then stayed in their room when requested I think it would be so cool 🤣🤣🤣

Yes i would depending on cost obviously. I love playing board games and it would be great to have someone to play against if I ever was unable to attend the groups I go to to play currently. Also if she kept an eye on my health issues that would be reassuring too.🤖🤖😊

I'm really not sure about having a robot helper. They would have to be very advanced for me, I couldn't stand a robot voice for instance.

There's a fantastic movie called I'm Your Man (2021) where Dan Stevens plays a humanoid robot companion programmed to be your perfect match. A truly heartwarming story and I think most women would be happy with him helping around the house. It's on Amazon Prime (not the free one) and definitely worth a watch if you can get it.

5 to 10 years I imagine the way things are progressing.
