Heavy downpours but high temps. It's like a monsoon here. The ground steams.

Could do with a bit more

Oh goodness! Some spots of rain. Just enough to dampen the washing on the line slightly and land on me.

North west rain overnight. My lawns are singing. Grey start leading to sunny afternoon and evening. I did some garden tidying after five by which time a perfect summer evening xxx

Not a drop in London and is red hot.

After the few drops of rain, the flying ants took off.

Then the sun came out and it got hotter.

What is rain?

Watched the pictures from the Commonwealth games on the news this morning, envied them getting that rain. Pouring down and puddles!
Here in our part of Dorset we had one 30 second shower on Monday, just about made the patio wet, and then it was gone.

No, nothing for weeks and East Anglia is now in official drought.

More rain overnight in north Manchester. The (hideous) leylandi hanging over my fence is now too wet for the gardener to cut back
The rest of the garden is looking much happier 🌞

Yesterday the postman brought me a package and said excitedly, β€˜It’s raining!’ On my package were 4 rain drops. That was it. No more.
Southern England, no rain except one light shower in the past six weeks.

We had a huge deluge for about a minute here in North Hampshire. We actually stood outside to watch the novelty of it!

Aely Fri 31-Jul-26 21:08:45

My daughter in Andover tells me that they had torrential rain for about 30 minutes, followed by a lighter shower half an hour later yesterday. Here, 40 miles up the M3 we got heavy, black clouds - but not a drop of rain.

Nothing in London and now the bloody rain icons on next weeks weather are starting to disappear again. Firstly it showed a rain icon on Monday but now it has gone and it says 29 degrees. What is going on with the Met office, is it so hard to forecast rain??
The earth here is fissured and reduced to dust. We are in drought. And the trees are acting like it is autumn, shedding their leaves.

25 miles south none either Aely.
