Stop please stop with the stupid questions.

Just ignore them if you don’t like them.

Apologies for expressing an opinion
Sorry not sorry

I wasn’t saying you couldn’t have an opinion but why read and comment on a thread you could plainly see would wind you up ?

Today I took myself off to my local library to browse for a couple of books I wanted to read. However, I could find neither but thought I'd go to the desk to ask Jo the librarian when they'd be back in.

After she'd make a couple of phone calls to Jill upstairs in the non-fiction department I was informed one of the books had literally just landed on the return trolley, which meant it was available for me to take out.

I was delighted, yes it made my daysmile

Because I want to make the point - and judging by replies on this or other threads, I am not alone in this- that these inane, personal questions serve no useful purpose except I suppose for those who can’t resist an opportunity to talk about themselves, , but OP never develops her/his questions unto any sort of discussion and they are totally pointless.and banal.
Worst sandwich filling? Happiest moment today? (cheesecake ???)
Are we all sitting around in a circle in our care home day room?

Brilliant Maw! 😂

crazyH Wed 29-Jul-26 22:18:02

It’s not ‘banal’ - it’s just light-hearted chat.
When I talk to my friends on the phone, I often ask them what they were doing that day, what they were cooking etc.- its probably not as deep as ‘happiest moment’ of the day’, but it’s still a bit intrusive. My friends and I are happy to discuss our routines with one another 😂

Greenfinch Wed 29-Jul-26 22:33:12

But they are your friends crazyH and that is why you are interested. That is the difference. A lot of people who respond to these questions are just names to me and I can’t rouse any interest in their replies especially as the OP doesn’t seen to return or engage in any sort of discussion. Others may disagree and that is fine. We are all entitled to our opinions.

He/she seems to have been oked by GN.
And someone was deleted on a last thread of hers.
So I personally would watch my step.
Unless you are not bothered.

Finishing cutting the grass which I had allowed to grow far too long because it was full of pretty buttercups.

NittWitt Thu 30-Jul-26 00:53:08

Why waste your time on threads with inane questions MawsRosie?
Just stick to threads that interest you and leave us shallow, banal people messing around over here.

Smileless2012 Thu 30-Jul-26 08:13:51

Watching our 10.5 week old puppy who we've had for 2.5 weeks sitting next to our 8.5 year old Cockapoo, both munching away on their chews smile.

I am beginning to warm to the questions.

Yesterday best moment, having a cream tea out, with a very old lady.

Definitely!

Some of the US folk that we’ve met on holiday and kept in touch with often start emails or FB posts with questions like that, so perhaps it’s a US thing. They do come back and respond though.

Some people might be doing just that. How would you know ?

greyfur Thu 30-Jul-26 08:36:31

Never mind, some people are just doing their best to get through the day. Maybe this lightens the load?

Of course do not divulge personal information.
