What made you fall in love with your OH?

Marge 75, how uncanny I was 17, OH was 20,he was on leave from the navy .he made me feel protected and I would trust him with my life and we.ve been married 58 years too

Hair and teeth.

Early on in our relationship, he came to stay for the weekend. It was when it was usual for you to fit your own plugs on appliances. He spotted my hairdryer on the floor with a badly fitted plug - I came into the room and saw him kneeling on the floor refitting it so I’d be safe. That was it. I knew he was the one.

We were in lust, we married 10 months after we met. Love grew - 56 years later we are still together, each other's best friends and soul mates. We have had lots of challenges, ups and downs, but are still here.

Chemistry! Many years before I formally met my future husband we had a chance encounter as total strangers. I had a problem with my car and this stranger helped me. I never forgot him. Years passed and I attended a forum and the speaker made a deep and lasting impression on me. Eventually the 'speaker' and I met socially and it was love at first sight. After getting to know him I realised he was the man who years before had helped me with the car problem.... Which was odd because that really wasn't his thing. So definitely chemistry with a dose of fate thrown in. We were extremely happy.

My DH said on our first date "wither thou goest, I will go"
It struck a chord.
Still together after 51 years.

He made me laugh so much, still together, lived together 5 years, married 45 years.

No idea - it was a coup de foudre

I loved (and still do) his sense of humour! We have such fun together - 54 years so far 👍

She was a gorgeous redhead, and when she dumped her boyfriend, who played in the same front row of the scrum as me at our local rugby club, I moved quickly. We clicked, and were married in just under a year from our first date. Our golden wedding was followed all too soon by her dying.

Here is the unromantic story. We met at the university sailing club sometime in our first year, neither of us have any memory of it.

We went our separate ways when we graduated, but a group of us used to meet up at the boat show each year. DH had bought his own dinghy, but needed a regular crew and I volunteered, as we both lived and worked in London, It gave me an opportunity to sail again.

After 18 months of being shouted at, sworn at and blamed for everything that went wrong, any dinghy sailor will recognise the behaviour, I decided that I had seen worst of him and could handle it, so I shed my previous romantic interest and we got married and 58 years later, I have had no real reason for regretting my decision.

No idea but we are still happily together after 56 years ( 50 married).

I met DH when I was a student on teaching practice at a school where he was teaching. I had some very difficult classes and he took me under his wing. He is my rock and today we celebrate our 54th wedding anniversary.

Not romantic at all, I was a staff nurse on a busy children’s ward and had just got one of my favourite babies (ssh) ready in best ward clothes as mum was visiting.
Lab technician turned up to take blood and splattered blood all over baby’s clothes. I was livid! Met by chance in pub we both fell about laughing the rest is history. 55 brilliant funny years I miss him so much.

We were both in the Army, serving in London, and he was blind date I was set up with after I’d just escaped from another potentially disastrous relationship. He turned up in a Harris Tweed jacket and cavalry twill trousers that seemed to be the only civilian clothing he possessed. I learned to love them - and him! We coasted along until suddenly he was being posted to one end of the world and I was being posted to the other, and rather than never see each other again, we got married. We hadn’t known each other that long and thought we’d have more time to get to know each other before we even thought about that. He was steady, kind and as utterly devoted to me as I was to him, for 56 years, when he died. I was one lucky lady to have known him.

My mother fell in love with him before I did.😂- no, nothing sordid

My reason was how very caring he was towards me and had/has a great SOH. His physique wasn’t bad either 🤭

I took his clothes off and thought Oh Yes. (he was a patient and unconcious).
