What a difference a day makes 😢😢

Yesterday my daughter and daughter-in-law were busy grumbling about how slow their first house purchase is taking and wishing it would speed up as they signed their contract 5 weeks ago.

Today my sweet DiL, who’s carry DD baby went into spontaneous labour and after waters broke and baby was upside down with umbilical cord separating, she had an emergency C section and then at 13:00 baby Henry was born at 24.9 weeks, weighing 1lb 6oz.

We are all hoping for a good outcome in the end, please pray to whatever God or spiritual being or keep your fingers crossed that baby Henry comes through this.

DD and DiL in shock and baby about to be transferred to a Neonatal Unit in a hospital nearly 40 miles away. This is their first baby and first try at IVF. He’s so tiny (I couldn’t see him but DD sent photos) 😢

Ah cossy we are holding you all in our thoughts.

Oh dear, what a shock for you all Cossy.
Baby Henry is in the best possible hands but what a worry for your daughter, DIL and all the family. Hoping for positive news.

Ooops. I have just read your update Cossy.
Very early days but sounds like a good place for new parents with a tiny baby needing lots of support and care. It's a frightening situation. So glad you have met little Henry and really hoping he grows stronger as the days go by, bless him.

We are all sending the strength and power of collective love to baby Henry, his mums and grand mums.

Grow strong little man❤️

🙏 for Henry and his Mum and Dad - and you, Cossy

Thank you for your updates, Cossy.

Henry's mum has had a major operation along with the shock of the situation. No wonder your DD and DiL are shellshocked, it's hard enough when things have gone relatively well.

I'm keeping you all in my prayers and I'll light a candle in church for you all tomorrow. 🕯

This sounds like a very good, supportive place for Henry's parents and Henry will get the best care he needs to help him grow stronger day by day.
Keeping you all in my thoughts.

I have been thinking of baby Henry and sending love to him also to all his family.
We were shown round the prem baby unit when DD was pregnant.
There was a little one in there who had been born very early. He had been there a few weeks and I was impressed by his strong kicking. He was amazingly small but they said he was improving and likely to be ok.

Harris27 Sat 08-Aug-26 15:10:47

Praying for them. 🙏

I will light a candle and I am sending good vibes.

Quick update

Baby Henry holding on! I saw him again yesterday.

Both mums doing well, DiL expressing little syringes every couple of hours of her precious milk which will be added to his feeding tube in a few days.

My dear daughter was allowed to put her hand into his incubation and his teeny tiny grasped her indexed finger and DiL sent me a photo last night, it was incredible and emotional and he was 77 hours old.

Hospital is amazing.

I’ll be back there on Monday, today is my DH’s virtual consultation on his two week skin cancer pathway, just keeping fingers crossed that’s a false alarm!

Thanking you all again, and sending my own positive vibes to those also going though stressful awful events.

Enjoy Sunday, be kind to yourselves and rest up 💙 🌺🥀🌻

Cossy today's update sounds gently positive news, thanks for sharing.
Your two girls will benefit from being able to take part in Henry's care.
Are you and the other grandma able to support each other?

Fingers crossed for your husband's appointment 🤞🏻

Thanks for this update Cossy. Hoping every day brings more positive news. The Homerton is a brilliant hospital with an excellent neonatal unit, son and dil's very premature twins were cared for there. Henry couldn't be in a better place to give him every chance. Sending love x
