Some people seem to have a strange idea of how one goes about spitting toothpaste or mouthwash into the toilet. It is not necessary to put the face near the water, or even the seat. One just spits from the same height as one would use for spitting into the basin, and then one can flush it all away. Can somebody please explain what is "gross" about that?

It is also worth noting that unless you wash your spat-out toothpaste away with a reasonable quantity of water, it can eventually clog up the sink. In these days of water shortages, is it not more sensible to spit into the toilet, which will be flushed sooner or later anyway? Rinsing a toothbrush (in the sink, before anyone thinks of something "gross" ) uses less water.
