Yes that’s true - I think I was musing more on the fact that we can’t trust photos any more and sometimes just one photo might be presented as the main evidence. And photos ( photoshopped or not) are used to try to manipulate us

You’re right, that’s why I posted that particular article, because it contained a number of other photos of people boarding, which looked legitimate, as well as the confirmation about children being on board.

It is NOT getting worse, these crossings are very much down on previous years. But, of course, facts are not much use with a lot of people.

Anyone attending any hospital or medical centre must be grateful for so many of this so-called army of foreigners, without them we would be in much problems.

Young men, are usually the main and first asylum seekers, often being funded by a an area or village. Hoping that if they make it to get to an appropriate safe country, they can eventually help to fund better conditions for their people back home.

Britain has always been made up by immigrants for at least two thousand years. Refugees here are still less (proportion of population), than in most other European countries.

I am just so very, very grateful that neither I nor any member of my family have to take this sort of journey and dire risk in order to be able to live.

Of course, my ancestors did, escaping from the czar in the latter part of the 19th century, and also from Nazis in mid 20th century. They also experienced this sort of hostility, but most managed to get on with their very productive lives here.

All the media reports say ‘over 20 babies and young children’ (not 20 babies) Oreo, and there are a number of photographs including in the article I posted above. Do you think the media was lying?

I was simply wondering where the figures were from.
Tho ‘the media’ has been known to get things wrong.

The only way we would know for sure would be from Home Office figures. - but people were watching them disembark, which is where the pictures and reports come from. I doubt they are inaccurate.

I think the photo of an older child being pulled up by his life jacket is fake too. Looks very odd and the child’s face doesn’t look right.
