Popped in to see if we had a new ‘kitchen’ couldn’t find one so have opened this.

Hope all is well, will catch up next week 🙋‍♀️

Just wanted to add my commiserations to others Jax tonight. How bluddy unlucky when you’ve followed all the rules. Get well soon dear lady. Hope sleep is restorative.

I’m eating the most delicious pizza (pepperoni my favourite) and it’s spicy too. Himself used to love pizzas when he was well. Me? Not so much. However, a couple of times a year they just hit the spot.

I’ve poured a malt too. Why not? And I’m binge watching Fauda recommended by my sister. (It means ‘chaos’ in Arabic).

There are 5 series apparently. I’m halfway through Series 1 so this’ll keep me out of mischief for a good while. It’s on Netflix. Anyone watched it? Such good acting - and so tense!

Oh Jax you poor thing, it’s one thing after another. I hope it heals quickly and you start to feel a bit better very soon, sending you a hug ❤️

Usedtobeblonde Sun 04-Oct-26 18:18:01

So sorry Jax a dry socket is very unfortunate especially when you have done everything correctly.
I am at my GD’s for a Sunday roast, it smells delicious.
I had my flu and Covid jabs yesterday, both in the same arm, it was very sore this morning but a couple of Panadol did the trick and no other side effects.
It has been lovely weather all weekend here, I hope you all saw some sun as well.

GrannyGravy13 Sun 04-Oct-26 17:49:37

Oh Jaxjacky sending you healing (((hugs))) fingers crossed you are on the mend 🤞🏻

The pork joint is roasting in the oven, all veggies are prepped and ready to cook.

Enjoying a very lazy (for me) Sunday 🙋‍♀️

Grandmabatty Sun 04-Oct-26 17:44:15

jaxjacky poor you. 💐

Jaxjacky Sun 04-Oct-26 16:28:00

Hi all, im fed up and cross, spent time at the emergency dentist this afternoon, one extraction has left dry socket. I’ve been so good, not even a shandy, no vaping (I do lightly usually), gentle salt rinses and soft food.
It’s been packed and I have antibiotics, the clock starts again, good way to lose weight, the whole palaver took over 2 hours
Anyway, new herbs are planted, washing nearly dried.
Tepid custard or tomato soup for dinner?
Enjoy your evening all.

Harvest Festival this morning. It was a family service so DD, SiL and 4 & 2 year olds came. Much hilarity with their attempts to join in and they were really quiet ( for them).
Home for brunch then off they went. I have planted my little plants into pots and then was driven in by the heat. When the rugby match has finished, I will go out again. Trying to dig over then manure a raised bed before we put new topsoil on tomorrow. 700L are sitting on the drive …
I’m sure I would be better at donating if I was so close to a charity shop FGT! But being that close to an Indian restaurant might be too tempting.

Grandmabatty Sun 04-Oct-26 16:10:53

Well done Fgt! Very productive yesterday.
I was out for breakfast with family today. Aunt and uncle were treating us. I had soft bread with halloumi, poached eggs and hot honey. It was delicious! The boys were really well behaved, we had a lovely catch up too. Instead of going to Aldi, I did a tesco order which will be delivered tomorrow morning. Dinner tonight will be mince and tatties. This afternoon I have been very lazy and done nothing again. My motivation is sadly lacking. Enjoy the rest of Sunday kitchen folk

Fgt 💐

I’ve had a productive day emptying completely the double wardrobe, washing the shelves and rails then, after a coffee putting 90% of it back - but in an order that pleased me. Skirts & trousers on one rail, winter jumpers on another & summer tops on the third. Coats, jackets & dresses in the centre section. Totally organised now and very satisfying.

Owing to my sad circumstances I now have the whole wardrobe to myself. I admit to a few tears at one stage. However I’m pleased I stuck at it with one medium bag to go down in the lift on Monday to the charity shop in the square.

A thread on GN this afternoon hurt my feelings. Funny isn’t it how a cutting comment from someone who has never met you in real life can be upsetting. Anyway - I had been invited to my neighbour’s apartment at 6pm to watch Strictly together and her company restored my equilibrium.

Thinking of all who are finding life difficult or upsetting tonight. Anxiety and sadness are very draining and my heart goes out to so many of you tonight. I remember this time last year for me. Beyond awful.

GrandmaC47 Sat 03-Oct-26 22:47:23

It’s been very quiet here for the last few days, don’t know why.

Gingster Sat 03-Oct-26 22:31:21

I can’t seem to get the recent posts for Soops kitchen, , only old ones? Anyone else?

Ladyleftfieldlover Sat 03-Oct-26 22:20:24

Hello kitchen people. I’m having an early night as I’ve had a very long day.

The Study Day at the V&A was very good. I had a good lunch in the Members Room and was home by 6 pm. OH had spent the day disinfecting the bee hives which had contracted a disease this year.

Sleep 💤 tight.

Redcar Sat 03-Oct-26 19:40:40

Watching Strictly after home cooked fish and chips.

I changed the sheets etc today, washed them and got them dry outside. I put the autumn weight duvet on the bed so will probably roast tonight! I have a hot wheat pack on my back as it’s been painful all day.

I washed the garden table (it’s glass) and will put the cover on it in the morning.

Enjoy the evening everyone.

Jaxjacky Sat 03-Oct-26 19:37:13

Hi all, my new herbs arrived to be planted tomorrow, the previous herb tub suffered from both the heat and an ant infestation, all died.
Another quiet day, the dental work is settling, but it’s boring, eating soft food and no wine is rather dull.
I do hope you enjoy your evenings, have one for me 🙂, a wave to the quiet corner 👋👋👋.

GrannyGravy13 Sat 03-Oct-26 18:55:39

Watching Strictly with wine whilst DH cooks dinner, I count my blessings 🙋‍♀️

brook2704 Sat 03-Oct-26 18:38:49

Hi kitchen pals, it’s quiet in here this evening
It’s been quite warm here today but a bit windy. We went into town this morning, there was a farmers market and craft fair on so we bought a few things to support the local traders. Home this afternoon and not done much since. We’re about to settle down with a chicken curry, glass of wine and catch up on last nights Traitors!
Hope everyone has a good evening, take care all x

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Fri 02-Oct-26 22:50:35

Just creeping into say goodnight to you all. It’s late because I’ve been out for a curry with my friend along the decking and then I tuned in to watch The Traitors on catch up,. 🫪

Till tomorrow dear Kitcheners.

Charleygirl5 Fri 02-Oct-26 22:40:30

I sat outside late am enjoying the sunshine. Not a nip in the air.

I didn't waken until nearly 10 am today so it is debatable if I will sleep tonight.

Premium Bonds were kind and I won £100. I expected extra 000s but not this month. I never see the money, it buys more.

Look after yourselves.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 02-Oct-26 20:43:03

Back home from an early dinner at local Turkish restaurant.

On sofa watching Traitors
Night night 🙋‍♀️

Redcar Fri 02-Oct-26 20:24:21

Sunny again but the breeze was cool. Lunchtime bingo was fun, especially as I won £5! Nice to see friends and catch up with their lives.
The gardener came this afternoon and actually did what I asked him to. The back of the garden is clear of weeds, at least for a few days. I need to find some plants that like dry shady places. I have a skimmia in a pot and will put it at the back of the garden, initially in it’s pot, then I’ll plant it when I can dig a big enough hole for it.

nannytopsy I hope you managed to plant all your new plants. Enjoy your weekend with family.

Have a pleasant evening everyone.

Jaxjacky Fri 02-Oct-26 19:48:28

I did sleep well last night, hurray. It’s been slightly cooler today but the bedding dried well with some sun and a breeze.
Busy bee Nannytopsy you sound like there’s a great weekend ahead.
We’re hooked on Traitors too FGT, ten minutes to go!
Enjoy your evening all.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Thu 01-Oct-26 22:09:59

I’ve been watching Traitors and I made myself a glass of G&T with ice and lime to enjoy during it. I love this programme (so much better than Strictly! Shh. 🤫). I adore Claudia’s grunge Scottish themed outfits too. I’m already locked in for the series!

Nannytopsy Thu 01-Oct-26 21:28:12

Hello! I was on duty at our charity cafe this morning - £370 ish for MacMillan.
This afternoon we went to a plant nursery which opens to the public for a local cancer charity. Lots of plants bought, so plenty of work tomorrow. DD etc arrive tomorrow , so lots of cooking to do, planting etc. Please can I have a quiet week next ? I have finished all the ironing and put everything away 😇
I hope you all sleep well!

Redcar Thu 01-Oct-26 21:16:17

I assumed you meant soup jaxjacky! When DD1 had all her wisdom teeth out many years ago, I bought fresh pasta for her and cooked it until I could mash it into the sauce. Apparently it was acceptable.

grandmabatty I’m pleased you’re feeling better and able to attend art class, lovely drawing.

Another sunny and mild day here, I think it will be a little cooler tomorrow, but still no rain. As I put some plants in the garden recently I’m having to water them regularly, a good thing one of the water butts is fairly full.

The gardens of both DDs houses back onto a park with quite a lot of mature trees in. A branch of a beech tree behind DD2’s garden fell off last night, narrowly missing the trampoline. Not much damage fortunately and I think the trampoline may be moved to a safer location! Hopeful that the council will assess the health of the tree.

Enjoy the rest of the evening everyone.
