Cheesy Christmas movies on the QVC app on our television. From now until Christmas I will be subjected to this torture every day. It's only the beginning of September. Eek!!

If you are hoping for some cider at Christmas the apple crops have failed badly and the vats are almost empty.

I find the predictably of them rather comforting and reassuring.

I can't believe he likes them. I thought it was only women that liked them.

I would like them, I love a romcom, (even though the ‘com’ is generally lacking) but they are too schmalzy even for me sometimes. And regrettably, the acting isn’t always the best…

Nobody is forcing you to watch. Why are you doing it?
I hate them.

Cossy..."ho, ho, ho..."that is tooo funny! My fav is the Crinch at Xmas ...but now I'm playing into your husbands' hands. (That sounds very wrong btw, apologies!). I do commisserate, (is that spelt right?). Can you not retaliate with a Eurovision fest ( if you like it that is?) Lol. smile

We stopped doing Xmas in the 80s. The children had all left so it was a good excuse to stop doing it.
Then in the early 2,000s the grandchildren came along so we had to join in again but in a low key capacity.
What we did on Xmas day was volunteer at charity Xmas dinners. The first one was Crisis at Christmas in London.

I love Christmas - from late November onwards. I’ll enjoy autumn first.

This is why men should all have a ‘man cave’! They can tinker, watch sport or Xmas movies and be as untidy as they want. Problem solved! 🤣

Winniewit Mon 07-Sept-26 17:27:57

Eek.?

M0nica Mon 07-Sept-26 21:29:09

That is assuming that the man will use the man cave. DH had one in the garden, well, insulated, comfortable chair, rug on the floor, nice wood burning stove lookalike calor gas heater, He never went near it, despite wanting it. He hated being up there by himself, He wanted to be in the house with everybody else

Wouldn't even potter in the integral garage, Whatever he was doing was done on the kitchen table or in the study, wherever there were other people.
