We had always wanted to go and had the opportunity to do so having someone to care for our animals whilst away. It was booked last minute on Tuesday, we went on Wednesday and returned yesterday. we had a sea view room on The Esplanade. I'm so glad we could go and had a fab time. We could hear the tawny owl twit wooing from the park opposite at 4 am, it was so lovely to hear it. Have made a lovely memory- have you been?

The Grand Hotel Scarborough is a Britannia Hotel.
No other description is necessary.
Just Google.

I used to love Scarborough, I used to holiday there with my family many times. However, the last time myself & DH visited about 3 -4yrs ago, we found it very tired looking & the vibrancy vanished.

We too have found it tired and a bit sad-looking, but the people are friendly and as Oreo says, the fish and chips are great - and cheap.

Oh my Madeleine what a lovely post. Well I'm on that coast for 6 days ina week or so and as I know R Hoods bay well will of course be back there and a stroll to the cafe at Boggle Hole Youth hostel - panning and coffee tucked away visually on the beach. But the place I want to go to as not been for some time will be an early morning visit to Flambro' Head, because at low tide its breathtaking.

And I will visit Ravenscar Hotel for a coffee and stroll, as I worked there was a waitress in 1969 when it was a posh country house hotel now there was an upstairs downstairs education grin.

And..fish and chips at Coble Landing at Filey 🙂

and....
