It’s an African name.

CarrotTop Fri 18-Sept-26 16:44:57

Bluebelle, All sorts of people have pincushions, surely? Maybe she was teaching the class needlecraft - a useful skill which, along with basic cookery, cleaning & home maintenance, ought to be a core subject in schools. It all comes in handy as we go through life.

Georgesgran Fri 18-Sept-26 16:52:54

Malev was the name of the Hungarian Airline, which suddenly ceased trading leaving passengers stranded.

BlueBelle Fri 18-Sept-26 16:56:55

She taught needlework!

nanna8 Sat 19-Sept-26 07:28:53

I remember having to make a pincushion in needlework at school. I still have it after all these years. I hated the subject then but I do like to sew now.

Ah! smile

I didn't automatically jump to that conclusion - there are occasions when I'm not the sharpest tool in the box...

Oreo Sat 19-Sept-26 08:11:55

It may be better if posters starting a thread were clear in the OP rather than a gnomic sentence.

BlueBelle Sat 19-Sept-26 08:22:25

On a teachers pincushion Malev this is just such a random few words 🤣
On a teachers ‘pincushion’ could have been colloquial for on a teachers bottom for all I knew
