Good morning from Malta where it is:still dark. It’s going to be around 28°C today with possibility of thunderstorms.

Yesterday I went to Eurospin and Lidl to stock up on essentials. Neither store was terribly busy which made it easier.

Had a lovely surprise visit from DD3 and the boys after school. They had all had a good first day back.

My appointment with the consultant was ok. He has referred me for tests but doesn’t think it’s anything to worry about.

I’m meeting my friend for coffee this morning so hope the rain holds off.

I watched 70Up last night and found it very moving. Life really is so short.

Good morning from an overcast Bristol. It’s overcast and a bit gloomy.
It’s the equinox today, so we are sliding into darker nights and shorter day, and the equinoctial storms. Will we get rain? It is still fairly unusual around here.
I was sad to learn of all the difficulties and sorrow yesterday and offer my condolences, sympathy and hugs.
The are a couple of robins singing their little hearts out in the surrounding hedges, plus some dunnocks, also singing loudly. The air is unusually full of birdsong.
The Spanish class yesterday went well. People are starting to talk to me. I walked the 1.5 miles downhill to get there, but rather than wait 40 minutes for the bus/es back, I decided to walk home. Blow me, if, about halfway home, when reaching the bottom of the hill, I didn’t see my upstairs neighbour just getting into her car! She has a fortnightly meeting at her church there. A very welcome lift home!
I missed a call from DS as my phone is on silent, but when we finally “joined up”, I needed to rush off to a PCC meeting, the last with our retiring vicar. Wine and nibbles were served. The meeting was longer than usual, with much tying up of loose ends, etc., so I was home quite late.
Today, morning prayers, then FAB cafe, then I was asked to help put up the final, new curtains for the hall stage. You may remember that the measurements for the whole thing was a disaster and there only were half the necessary new curtains!

Good morning Mick and everyone from a still dark Lancashire. DH has just left for work.

After a misty start the weather was beautiful yesterday. After my Slimming World group we came home and had a couple of hours in the garden. The little chap loves being outdoors. I'm going to need a properly waterproof winter coat once the bad weather sets in because I suspect he'll be happy to be out rain or shine.

This morning we'll go to Toddler Group. It's well organised and the volunteers are very welcoming and at £2 is a bargain.

I was sorry to hear of your sister's bereavement FriedGreenTomatoes. Even when expected, it's still a shock.

I'm going to try to get some more sleep before the human dynamo in the next room wakes up so I'll wish you all the best day possible. 🌻

Yesterday I walked to school and back and didn’t realise how warm it was - I was very tired when I got home. I finally got to meet my year three reading group and they are a lovely bunch - I think we shall rub along okay.

Writers group at the library today. I’ll do a bit of shopping while I’m at the mall. This evening I will ring DS as I haven’t heard from him for a few weeks.

Good morning Micheal and all GN's on this very dark and gloomy morning in North Yorkshire. Cant see a thing outside but no sound of rain or wind so far. I have had a very up and down day yesterday, which ended up , when I got home and got ready to go out to the games night at the local pub, with suddenly feeling very dizzy and things seemed to be going round and round, so it meant that the games were abandoned and I grovelled my way to bed, where if I stayed still ,it wasnt too bad but turning around set it off again Hence I just stayed in bed, watched the 70plus and then went to sleep so woke up about 3.35am and gave up and got up just after 4am!! I seem to have developed an annoying cough too, which wakes me up just as I am dropping off!

The weather was warm and pleasant and so I decided that I would contact the Arts society and go to a talk on Monet and Impressionism and Art. I studied Monet and Degas and have always liked their work, once even watching a rubbish play on tv, as it was set in an art gallery full of his paintings. So I wasnt following the play but just wanting to look at the background! The meeting was being held at Tennants auctioneers in Leyburn. They have a very spacious place there with halls and cafe and display cabinets full of the latest upcoming auctions goods, and there is a Mouseman sale going on so many lovely pieces of furniture on show there.

This years programme looked full of things that would interest me and I contemplated joining for the year, but first wanted to see how comfortable I would find the chairs.Sadly there were very bad for my back sitting for a long time, so that has had to be abandoned! But it was worth looking around. There are some major railway works going on round here and various roads were going to be shut and so forth so on the way back I went a different route and had some lovely views over the countryside, and had planned to stop for coffee but even the cafe was closed when I got there. Decided to carry on home and get organised with a meal and ready for the evening but never left home, due to the bad head. Best laid plans etc!

Today I really must get down to some sorting out of books etc., and make a list that I want the cleaners to do, so that I dont forget it. I am half dreading and half looking forward to them coming, as I definitely need to sort some things out, but just hope that I am still in decisive mode tomorrow, and not dripping about , saying shall I keep this etc etc. So my plan is to be like the spider in the web. I shall sit in my chair and direct them to which cupboard or bookshelf to attack and then will be giving the thumbs up or down to specific things. I am hoping that I shall have a tidier cleaner flat at the end of it, so today I have to make a start on some of the many paperworks that only I can sort out! They are promising us a lot of rain today so that should help keep my nose to the grindstone! I still havent planted the cheap plants that I bought, as my back is not helping, so they might be putting those in for me too!

I have managed to put most appointments and things onto the calendar but my diary has disappeared somewhere and I need to find it and put them all in so that I dont double book myself.Well it is time to creak my way off to the shower and hope it will give me some painrelief, and then I need to crack on with some sorting.

tonight I have whist at the little village, and fingers crossed that I shall feel ok for that. I owe my brother a letter, but the tidying up has to come first. Hope everyone has a good day, I sat and read everyones posts last night, hope today is kind to your all

I missed my exercise class yesterday as I didn’t feel great so had a quiet day at home.

Today my absolute worst.A 45 minute dental appointment.
Later we will collect DGD from school, take her for something to eat and then onto her dance class.

I hope karmalady is in less pain and that Marydoll had a better day.

I can't comment on the weather as it is still dark but we are forecast rain.

Yesterday was gorgeous,sunny and temperature of 24 degrees.
My friend and I enjoyed our fish and chips and then went to a garden centre for coffee
Not thrilled to be greeted by C.....s trees as soon as we walked through the door.
I was so warm that when I got home I changed into pyjamas forgetting Sainsbury's was due between 4:30 and 5:30....

I thought 70 up ended on a good note despite beeing disappointed in last week.

My friend to visit this afternoon I hope she is more cheerful today, she brings me down sometimes.

A nice morning in Corfu town yesterday and we had just got back on the coach when the heavens opened and we had thunder and light. It had stopped by the time we were back at the hotel. Perfect timing.
This morning we are off in a boat trip to the south of the island and we are promised a good sunny day.(27’)

My dental pain is terrible, at its absolute worst when I accidentally crashed a top molar onto the bottom molar but I have to eat because of the painkillers. That has happened three times so far and one was an hour ago

Dental appointment tomorrow and I am desperately hoping for some temporary pain relief until I can get to an oral surgeon, soonest appointments for that are either 3 weeks or 7th november. I know about the ibuprofen and paracetamol difference plus how they can be used but I need to factor in eating, to protect my stomach

So long days just now, lots of rest and a one-track mind on trying to break the pain cycle. No-one knows what it is like when I speak to them, I have that old-style stoicism but inside I do feel like wailing

How awful for you karmalady you have my sympathy, there is not much pain worse than toothache.
Is there no emergency help for you from GP ore A&E?
It is health related after all.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
It's pouring with rain with drips coming through the cupula.
My back has been painful overnight.

I skived off house things yesterday and spent the day in Edinburgh. Some essential shoe shopping plus new back pack then to Modern Art 2 for the Gwen John exhibition which I enjoyed.

Gaelic evening class where I feel like an imposter. Some new people seem to be native speakers or at least have DC at the Gaelic school.

Today chiropractor, yarn group and more sorting, chucking and labelling of house contents.

I watched and enjoyed the finale of 70up too UTBB. Some wise words were spoken.

I hope everyone has some joy today. Here is the blue sky yesterday.

It has been bedlam here. We are having the granite wall between us and our next door neighbours whilst the neighbour on the other side is having her drive altered. We have to take the car and park it round the corner in case we want to use it. And we did! We had to take the cat to the vet and have to go back today.

Good morning from south Glos, cloudy skies here but no rain forecast.
I enjoyed the trip to the garden centre yesterday, my friend and I both came home with trays of violas. It was a lovely day and a nice drive across the Cotswolds.
Today I have to get some compost from a nearby garden centre while on my way to the hairdressers and I need to get petrol too so that will be a 8 mile drive to the closest garage. Luckily I do very little driving in comparison to many on here.
I hope you can get your toothache sorted quickly Karma, that’s a ridiculously long wait when you’re in so much pain.

The 11yr old has had his breakfast (egg and bacon sandwich) he is getting sorted for school.

Today my car has to go back to the Ford dealer for some kind of update to its system. This was attempted in August but was unsuccessful so they’re trying again today. An unfamiliar early start is necessary!

Good morning Mick and everyone from a very rainy Carlisle. No gardening today!
Yesterday featured a bit of routine cleaning then it was off to one of the surgeries for the nurse to examine my itchy, sore ears. They looked normal, no inflammation or infection so good, that's what I wanted to know. I've to continue with putting drops in, she recommended olive oil...I've been using fancy plant oil ones. I am wondering what brought this on if there's no infection as the hearing aids are about 2 years old.
btw...she told me how young I looked for my age. I told her it was the wretched steroids I take...they fill out your wrinkles and lines. I'd rather look wrinkly!

Today, as I can't be outside, I'll have to knuckle down to some jobs but I won't make a martyr of myself, I've an interesting pile of reading including a useful book on my polymyalgia condition written by a doctor who's had it herself and recovered.

I'm really feeling for you karma, I hope your painkillers are damping down the pain somewhat and that the dentist can help tomorrow.

If anyone wants some rain, come and help yourselves, I've had enough! Best wishes to all.

Oh I also secured my Waitrose Christmas delivery slot - yippee!

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. Yesterday was warm and sunny in the afternoon. Although there were some clouds about we didn’t have any rain. A slim chance of a shower today.

I made it into town yesterday morning and dropped some books into the charity bookshop, then did a little shopping and came home. My dementia friend was very sleepy and quiet all afternoon.

I had a night of odd dreams last night, one of which was a visit to the dentist for a crown preparation! The dentist was one of the dancers from Strictly! I don’t know where that came from as I don’t generally worry about the dentist!

karma I hope you can get some relief from your pain soon. Toothache is horrible.

grammaretto a pleasant day for you yesterday and a break from the house clearing. I hope you can attack it with renewed vigour today!

Morning all from West Oxfordshire where a sunny day is forecast.

Karma, when I was in a similar position to you and needed a teeth extracted at the hospital (I was on alendronic acid so my dentist couldn’t deal with it) I bit the bullet and paid. Otherwise it was an 18 month wait.

I will complete the Christmas cake today. The fruit is currently soaking in rum.

I made a batch of Hugh FW vanilla ice cream yesterday. It is delicious.

I have booked the Steak Night at one of our favourite restaurants tonight. We haven’t been for a while.

Good morning from an overcast but warm Cornwall. I got home 12 hours after I left for the hospital scan yesterday (scan was clear, as I thought it would be, but I appreciate my diligent doctor) because I stopped at a little village on my train journey home and explored its quaint streets and shops. The station is unmanned and later I sat on the platform in complete silence - not a car nor a person nor a bird - for an hour, relishing the peace, while occasional nine-carriage GWR trains roared past. It was surreal and beautiful. I realised the extent to which gulls are wallpaper to my life as they are normally everywhere I go. Not a gull in sight or sound yesterday.

I caught a train eventually and then had a long-winded rural bus journey before I arrived home. A lovely, pleasing jaunt.

At home I received a message from Ashcombe to tell me about the unexploded bomb in our harbour, the news of which had somehow completely bypassed me. Thanks Ash! I live outside the evacuation zone but a friend was preparing a suitcase last night in case she has to leave at 9am today. A large church is being deployed as a temporary refuge. I think the experts are deciding whether to explode it in situ or transport it elsewhere.

Apparently, on arriving home my 10-year-old granddaughter said: 'There's a bomb near Nana and people are being evacuated. Can Nana come and stay and I'll sleep in my top bunk and she can have the bottom one?' Bless her. ❤️

Karma I had the same last month. It's awful. Let's hope you're offered decent pain relief or a miracle solution sooner than in three weeks' time.
