To be fraud it would have to be deliberate. It could just as easily be a mistake. Fraud is a very strong word!

Well maybe she picked the bag up and thought it felt light and just checked the weight. She was proved right and was missing 68grams.

If I did that in Sainsbury, I'd just hand it to a member of staff and point out it was mislabed.

Maybe she didn't notice until she got home, by which time she'd paid.

In that scenario, I'd bung the unopened bag in the freezer, make sure I still had the recipt, take both next time I went shopping, and talk to a member of staff as I went in.

Fraud is an extreme word to use in this circumstance.

Somewhere along the line someone is deceiving someone and benefitting, and the other person is losing out. If it's not fraud wondering what it is. Misrepresentation or something?

Keep away from Sainsbury’s Online grocery shopping.
I recently ordered groceries totalling £100+
They sent me :
1 Banana (instead of a bunch)
1 Satsuma (instead of a pack)
Who in their mind would order 1 banana or 1 satsuma.
When I complained, they sent me a £4 voucher, which I won’t be using because , I do t I tend to drop with them

Organisations hate it when contacted publicly with complaints. Complain in Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. You often get very quick responses

Have a look at your receipt there always used to be the stores telephone number printed on it.

I agree Kitty. It's probably just a one off mistake. smile

Answer:- I wanted to use them half at a time and having weighed out 150g there were hardly any left.

That makes sense 😉

There is an online refund form on that page. You don't need to chat about it, just request a refund and you will get it. Nothing else will happen.

I did go through the refund process but to me that's not the point. Whole thing is scandalous. Will have to start weighing everything now.

Can I ask why you weighed the sprouts.

Why are you asking that?

Because I’ve never seen the reason to weigh a bag of veg unless it’s a specific recipe that required 300gsm of sprouts.
Off the top of my head it would only be a giant bubble and squeak

If bought in store, did you complain there?

fluttERBY123 Mon 02-Nov-26 10:13:05

I bought a sealed bag of sprouts labelled 300g but when I weighed them there were only 232g.
I thought they should know about this but have found it impossible to get through to anywhere I can tell them. Any ideas? I don't find it easy to get to a store these days.
