Money talks. Or hopefully not.

Kittye Fri 14-Feb-20 20:20:16

Does it matter as long as the child is loved and cared for?
Families come in all shapes and forms nowadays. It’s lovely for them both ?

Greymar Fri 14-Feb-20 20:23:15

Well yes it does matter. I think it's incredibly sad for the rent a womb.

Bibbity Fri 14-Feb-20 20:26:55

Lovely for them. Not so much for the child being ripped away from its mother.
A child who has no say in what’s happening.

Anniebach Fri 14-Feb-20 20:34:57

Are they having a child through surrogacy ?

suziewoozie Fri 14-Feb-20 20:40:55

Grey it appears we share the same views on surrogacy. Both children and women are commodified through the process of surrogacy.

Anniebach Fri 14-Feb-20 20:43:26

A woman chooses to have the child , ripped from the womb ?
how dramatic

GrannyGravy13 Fri 14-Feb-20 20:44:26

Old news, the child is over one years old.

Not old news. The surrogate mother has carried two children for them.

Urmstongran Fri 14-Feb-20 20:50:04

No GG13 that was Coco, born Sept 2018. This new baby boy was born today. There are 4 children in the family now.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 14-Feb-20 21:00:15

Sorry I had not seen that they had a second surrogate child. I am sure these children will be loved and have a wonderful life.

trisher Fri 14-Feb-20 21:07:03

Very old idea. James Taylor did it years ago twins born in 2001. www.deseret.com/2001/4/11/19580110/surrogate-mom-brings-taylors-bundles-of-joy
There is a slight difference as a surrogate mother can be paid in the US but not in the UK.

Greymar Fri 14-Feb-20 21:08:44

Of course it's not a new idea but their sense of entitlement and ego is unpalatable to me.

Oopsminty Fri 14-Feb-20 21:14:02

Nobody's business but theirs

The children are biologically theirs

Lovely life for them

Loved and wanted

Bibbity Fri 14-Feb-20 21:18:18

I believe the objectification of women and the damage forced upon children to be everyone’s business

Urmstongran Fri 14-Feb-20 21:19:30

What damage here Bibbity?

BlueBelle Fri 14-Feb-20 21:20:58

They make it everyone’s business don’t they ?
Unfortunately I ve always found him an extremely arrogant man and didn’t like his behaviour in the delivery room when one of the children were born (naturally) don’t know which one
Good luck to them but does it need to be ‘news’

Anniebach Fri 14-Feb-20 21:21:42

So a woman’s choice is respected for abortion but not for
Surrogacy

Greymar Fri 14-Feb-20 21:22:03

Would you give up a newborn?

Anniebach Fri 14-Feb-20 21:26:01

No I wouldn’t, my elder daughter agonised over being a surrogate for my younger daughter but knew she would not be
able to give up the child.

I wouldn’t abort a child either

Galaxy Fri 14-Feb-20 21:34:10

Why do we move heaven and earth to keep children with their mothers except in these cases.

May7 Fri 14-Feb-20 21:39:15

Right with you Bluebelle
Arrogant couple ....got fame... got money so have whatever they want Seem like fakes to me but really do hope children have a nice life.

Lolo81 Fri 14-Feb-20 21:51:34

@Galaxy, perhaps because in these cases (certainly in this one) the surrogate is not the child’s mother.

Galaxy Fri 14-Feb-20 21:56:18

Yes they are. Women are not carriers or hothouses, every cell in the child's body is made by the mother, the importance of the fourth semester is only now being understood. Children should not be for sale.

Bibbity Fri 14-Feb-20 21:57:39

There was a study conducted that showed that children born of surrogates exhibited the same trauma as adopted children.

We have proof of the 4th trimester. Proof that a newborn needs to stay with its mother. The woman who created and carried them.
It’s traumatic for a newborn to be removed from its mother.
