Good morning from a clear Bristol. The change from cold to hot has been so sudden, hasn’t it? Very odd .
We were told that our Spanish class would be cancelled as from next September as there was too little take up. That’s very sad. And there isn’t another class at this level.
In the afternoon, I cut back the wallflowers, and cut a branch off the Choisya. I shall keep them low.
As it was so lovely - perfect in fact, with a gentle breeze - I sat outside and invited other residents to join me. Only one did.
Thank you all for your kind words re. the diabetes diagnosis. I’m still very annoyed and feel that my normally trust body has let me down although I’ve been kind to it. 🙄
FGT, it seems that you are finding your feet in Malaga. I’m glad you are enjoying yourself and seeing your friends. It’s an excellent idea to visit in spring and autumn. They are my favourite seasons.
Only church coffee this morning. I may do some sewing.
Have a lovely BH weekend which will unusually be fine.

Good morning from Malta where another sunny day is forecast wth a high of 31°C.

I have had another awful night with so many thoughts swirling through my brain. Made my tea at 4.30 again.🙄

Went for my hair appointment and listened to my lovely hairdresser telling me about her diagnosis of colon cancer. She’s being incredibly brave but obviously shocked. They certainly pulled out all the stops regarding tests , scans etc and have assured her it has not spread so the prognosis is very hopeful.

She hasn’t told her two daughters yet (13 and 9) as the elder of the two has to go in for spinal surgery on 1st June. Honestly, why do these things happen one on top of another? Fortunately she has a very supportive husband and close family plus many friends all rooting for her, myself included.

I had the boys in the afternoon, we played all sorts of games, read dinosaur books and laughed a lot before their mum came for them at 6.30.

I’m meeting my lovely, positive friend this morning at 9 am! She loves an early start and, since I’m not sleeping well, it’s no trouble getting up. Also easier to walk to the village before the sun gets too hot.

That’s sad about your Spanish class not being continued, grandMattie, especially as there doesn’t seem to be an alternative.😞

DGD in Tennessee has finished her ‘sophomore’ year and is now half way through high school. She now has a packed schedule of softball during the summer break starting with a camping event where no mobile phones are allowed. It looks a fabulous spot and they seem to be a lovely group of friends on her team, they all encourage each other which is nice to see.

Hoping you all have an enjoyable weekend and make the most of the pleasant weather.☀️

Enjoy being with your friend, bellas. Going early is a good idea; I don’t like being too hot!
Sounds like your DGD is excellent with her sport; does she want to do it semi/professionally?

Morning Mick, morning All. A clear sky over our corner of Somerset.

We enjoyed a coffee and a sit for an hour by the sea wall yesterday before heading to a garden centre to finish plant gathering. Two large tubs and four small troughs were planted late afternoon when there was some shade.

We’re heading out for a journey on an open topped bus this morning. Something we’ve not done for years, later it will be back home to our cool living room, maybe I’ll try a sit in the garden if there’s no sign of ratty. I’ve had a sleepless night fretting about a granddaughter and am pleased there’s nothing pressing that needs a brain! The rest of the weekend will be spent quietly at home.

Look after yourselves everyone. Have the best day you can.

Thank you grandMattie, she is hoping it will lead to a college scholarship. She wants to be an anaesthetist (or anaesthesiologist as they call it over there). She’s had straight A’s all year so we are very proud of her)

bellas, good girl. Hope she gets a place and manages to reach her stars! 🤩

Good morning from a breezy but unsurprisingly clear-skyed Cornwall with heat predicted, unfortunately. I'll go out early and then hide under the trees in my wild wood. Actually I want to start digging out an area to extend where I sit up there so I may tackle that in the shade.

This week I've left my allotment for the last time and will miss my lovely ponds and herbs and globe artichokes and fruit bushes but I can't keep on top of it now. I'll start to travel more instead as I won't have to keep a weekly eye on it. I'd like to see more of our country as I've been abroad a lot in the past. I can use the Eden Project as a pretend garden; once you pay on your first visit the next year's visits are free. And their food is luscious!

Anyway, first of all today I'll travel on an early bus to B&Q's garden centre to see what herbs I can find for my patio. I'm glad most of you will enjoy the sun.

Morning all from a soon to be much warmer West Oxfordshire. Obviously I’m still in bed! I slept with just a sheet.

Yesterday’s talk on Holbein was very good. OH and I both belong to the local Arts Society and it is one of the few things we do together. I don’t shoot or beekeep, and he isn’t interested in the various arts courses I do. Anyway it was good to have breakfast first in an independent cafe. It is a real treat to have someone else prepare a cooked breakfast.

Today we are off to a nearby town where I will encourage OH to buy some new shirts in M&S. He hates buying clothes and wears things until they are practically falling apart. I need a new pillow. Many, many years ago I broke my neck in a motorcycle accident and always find it difficult to get the ‘right’ pillow.

I have booked lunch for us in an Italian restaurant. Afterwards, as our daughter is coming to stay tomorrow so we need to buy some provisions. We may have a barbecue on Monday.

Have a good day everyone.
